It's kind of obvious. OP is the kind who wants to be fully kitted upon creating a character. Having to play the game is too much work. ;)

This. I have about 2 HC servers that I play on, one of them is closing in week unfortunately. Nothing is more frustrating when trying to gear up and you can watch this list grow and then shrink down to 3-5 players in a matter of moments. Luckily I haven't need much of anything lately just more SKS ammo and maybe some medical supplies. The funny thing about these hoppers tho is they always leave medic bags and food behind now, it's just ammo that's hard to come by these days.

I love starting over, but then I'm in a constant battle with goddamn server hoppers taking shit off of the server I play on, grrrr. You know, in a way the game kind of forces you to server hop. Not always but sometimes.

There is no incentive to gear up. Players have been coddled and hand held by game developers for so long that any form of challenge to have to do anything themselves they start screaming and stomping their feet. That's why we have server hoppers. Why do you think people want to mod games these days? As for the match making, who cares, let them add it. You don't have to use it. -

If it takes an hour or two to gear then this is not a survival game. I support BiS but I will not support a stupid matchmaking system. If this is the route they want to take no problem, it was only $30 wasted and I already got my time out of the alpha anyway. -

I don't understand why it's so difficult for people to have one character per server. If the server is quiet and you want to play on a full one, who cares if you have to start from scratch. You're going to die sometime anyway and have to start over. At least having multiple characters per server you've got the choice to get back to another geared guy right away if another one dies. -
Actually the "private" loot farms can just reset whenever and voila, 5 mins fully geared. Well maybe 10 mins.

This is take directly from the mod and I don't see the standalone differing from the story line. A 225 km2 open world post-soviet state and one of the areas hit by a new and presently unknown infection which has wiped out most of the world's population. You are one of the few who have survived and now you must search this new wasteland in order to fight for your life against what is left of the indigenous population, now infected with the disease. Go Solo, team up with friends or take on the world as you choose your path in this brutal and chilling landscape using whatever means you stumble upon to survive. -

315 hours in and all I can say is I don't own any other game that I've logged as many hours in as DayZ. I've enjoyed everything about the game even through the bugs and glitches. I bought the SA so I could be here to watch it develop and will support BiS all the way.
