    Gender Discrimination and Prejudice

In DayZ, people shoot you. They don't have a real reason, they just think of something dickish to say about your gender, race, voice, or whatever before killing you, because they feel like they're doing some "l33t trolling."
  2. That's the point. Sniping has to be hard. btw I owe $20 to some fuck's sister's wedding.

At What Point Will You Say, "This Is Now DayZ"?

When having a half mag in any gun other then those with extremely low magazine capacities (Say, 5) is such a rare prospect that filling up your 300-round ammo box will take years and years of round-the-map looting. I want to have so little ammo that my shots need to count. Right now, my shots don't need to count. I recently found an AKM and a 75 round drum magazine in one trip to the Pavlovo Military base. I have no reason to worry about my shots anymore. I can spray and pray and shoot at everything I see without a worry in the world. In my perfect DayZ, I should have a normal magazine with maybe 12, 14 rounds in it, which would make full-auto sprayfire a bad idea, especially with no mags on standby.
  4. I don't see how those weapons would be useless, if the gun was rare, the ammunition rarer, and a pain in the ass to use. Why would you use a 50 cal with 1 bullet when you have your trusty SKS with 10 rounds loaded and 2 more on standby? There's no reason to haul around some big ass 50 cal antimaterial rifle if you only have one shot and the chances of getting more rounds are out of this world.
  5. The thread has been derailed, that's for sure. On topic- That Submachine gun is very ugly. Where's my pretty uzi?
  6. Where did I say they should be available everywhere? Very broad assumption. In my opinion, bullets should be like gold and guns should be a bit more common then those rounds. I want a hardcore experience where everyone scrounges for ammo and makes sure every shot counts. I'm just stating that Barrets wouldn't wreck the game. We're playing with, well, slightly realistic ballistics which mean most bullets hurt, some a bit more then others.
  7. Why use a 50 cal, anyway? Rare ammunition, rare gun in general. I'd much prefer to just use one of my hunting rifles for long-range precision killing. Especially the ones in semi-automatic, as, well, you don't have to pull back the bolt and if your first shot misses, you can respond with another one, and fast.

The Future of Hardcore vs. Regular?

When can I start pushing the shopping cart with a magnum with only 2 rounds?
  9. Sorry, Irish, but I gotta call you out on this one. :u Barret 50 Cals aren't super overpowered godly weapons that allow players to magically kill everyone on the map with little to no skill. Its a large caliber weapon that is semi-automatic, and the only advantage to the round is that can penetrate shit, hit people really hard, and can take down armored vehicles. With realistic sniping mechanics including wind, drop, and other cool ballistic stuff, along with an intense rarity surrounding the weapon, there would not be a problem. It would take skill to use the thing and wouldn't be practical at all due to the rarity of the caliber. Plus, if it was up to me, it wouldn't matter what round your sniper rifle or rifle was chambered in. If you hit somebody in the gut, or the legs, they're going down. Not unconcious, unless they're really low on health / blood, but down. Kinetic Knockdown is a factor only like 0.1% of games account for. No one seems to realize bullets will stumble you, push you around, and put you on the damn ground- Plate or vest or not, its going to knock you around.

What do you think is more of a cluster fuck? Balota vs NEAF

NEAF. Barely any loot, but no shortage of hostile players.
  11. hannibaldaplaya

    Why do you push?

Who cares if you die, then? When your 'wife, gf, bf, whoever' calls you away from a game for an 'extended period' of time I am pretty sure its probably worth the loss. B)

That is the best name for lubricant I have ever seen.

    Any News on Global Chat?

This logic is used by the same numbskulls who yell 'if you dont like it dont watch it' to those who critique youtubers, shows, and movies. 'If you don't like it, don't play it' or 'If you don't like it, play somewhere else' is just, stupid. Global Chat has no place in a game where more realistic means of communication can be created. It clutters up the screen, and allows me to tell you something from one edge of the map when you are at the other edge. It creates way too much communication between survivors in such a desolate world. Radios are a good alternative to this. Colonization, as well...

    Make mics a requirement.

Unfortunately 90% of young, teenage gamers here on the internet are in a time of their life where they want their dick in something so harassing and 'flirting' with some video game playing female who probably lives across the country or overseas seems like a great way for them to eventually get their dick into something.
  15. The worst part about stable is that nearly everyone has 120+ rounds for their M4A1, just like you, just like me, just like everyone else. Why ammunition isn't rare by now is beyond me...
  16. What about the hundreds of servers that kick you when you join and are used as loot farms.. ?
  17. Its literally impossible to secure an area now, especially say, a Jailhouse, due to the threat of someone hopping in - armed. Yay.

    Real question about the community

I can not sit in one position aiming down my sights for more then two damn minutes. I really don't know how these people pull it off.

    Make mics a requirement.

A few months after I first bought DayZ, my microphone broke. I still played the game, though, despite my microphone being broken. I had to wait quite a few weeks to be able to buy a new one. According to your logic, I shouldn't be allowed to play the game because my ability to talk over voice chat has been (temporarily) crippled? Really, this is one of the stupidest threads I have ever seen. Are you begging for an influx of negative feedback? I do not see how limiting the game to people with microphones is a good idea. Like it or not, some people are in bad economic situations, or are in, say, college or even high school and sometimes can't afford a microphone. Good headsets can be expensive. Just because someone can't afford a headset or microphone does not mean they won't own DayZ, though. You don't know how they acquired it. There are several ways to get the game without using your own cash, and even if they used their own cash, it doesn't mean they can afford every thing they would possibly like to buy. Here are a few ways to get games on Steam such as DayZ without dishing out your hard earned cash; -Trading on sites like TF2 Outpost, where you can practically get any game you want for Mann Co Keys -Receiving the game as a gift from a friend -Selling Steam trading cards on the market, though this would require thousands of sales, and using the funds to buy the game Even if the person without the microphone bought DayZ, which is $30, why should they have to go and spend $20 - $40 on a decent headset to play the game they spent their fucking money on? Oh boooooy. How fun. You buy DayZ, it won't run. Why? You don't have a microphone. Uh oh, time to spend even more money. Wait, you don't have it because the rest went to bills, groceries, and gas? Oh no, no DayZ for you! Your suggestion, your idea, your thread- It disgusts me. Absolutely repulsive idea, literally has no positive sides.
  20. I am going to make a huge, urban city, full of large, tall skyscrapers, shops, and other locations. There will be so many cars abandoned on the street navigating by sidewalk will basically be essential unless you want to walk along the roofs of rusty cabs. Most of the stores will be restaurants, or jewelry places, or tourist shops featuring shirts about the city, all rather useless to most survivors, other then the one can they find every four restaurants or so. Of course, there will be a few places in my urban jungle where valuables will be able to be found. There will be two gun shops, and four antique shops, strewn across the city. Each gun shop will most likely spawn one or two modernish weapons with very, very little ammunition and antique shops will spawn older weapons with very little ammo and melee kind of stuff, and if modding is added in by the time I make this map, I'll throw together some interesting melee weapons to go with this. You can always leave the city, but the place has a lot of high vantage points and things to explore that its the perfect spot for cannibals, and if cannibalism is not added by the time the game is released with map making tools I will be a tad confused, as it will be easy to hide yourself and take out unexpecting travelers from afar. Outside the city will be a suburban district, and after that will be a large amount of dense forests. A long way away from the city will be an old Civil War battlefield, which will have a low chance of spawning melees and old guns, and perhaps a calvary sabre if modding is implemented that allows the implementing of new weapons. There will also be a few military outposts in the city, but they will not spawn much, and there will a nuclear power plant at one edge of the map. WHAT WILL YOU GUYS MAKE?
  21. hannibaldaplaya

When Map Making comes, in the far far future, what will you make?

They better give us the navmesh tool, I don't see why they wouldn't. That would be like saying every community created map would have to have glitchy zed movement stuff.

scoped fov locked, normal fov adjustable

It might be. What is the FOV set in BF3? If it is low, by default, and you haven't adjusted it, that would explain the motion sickness. Is your view very narrow, like, say, tunnel vision in game?
  23. hannibaldaplaya

    Health and medical supplies

There are no current infections or illnesses from water, unfortunately. Wetness does not affect you at all and vitamins don't do anything. Drinking and eating stuff that is 'bad for you' doesn't make you get sick, either, and opening cans with zombie killing axes does nothing, too.
  24. hannibaldaplaya

scoped fov locked, normal fov adjustable

Low FOV can give some people motion sicknesses and is a general preference that should be available in all PC titles. Some people like it at 70, others 90, others - like me - 120.

    More civillian clothing.. Less military

This is where the game stops me from playing. I have no reason to conserve my ammo because its fucking everywhere. The only thing that is rare are pistol magazines, which only spawn in military bases for some random reason. Its frustrating when your 'apocalypse survival game' throws you so much ammunition you feel like you are playing Payday 2 with a guy who has his ammo bag stuff leveled up all the damn way.
