I stream sometimes, not DayZ though. If I did stream DayZ, I should expect to die as I am telling others where the hell I am.

Players who exploit the ability to server hop and players who don't.
hannibaldaplaya posted a topic in New Player Discussion
Me and my friend, last night, we're surprised to see a player not log out once we handcuffed him and basically decided to steal his blood. The fact of the matter is that it takes a lot of maturity to not just log out whenever something threatens you in the game, as he could have just exited and went on another server, with no punishment. Plus, he wouldn't have lost an ounce of blood. This reminded me of the fact there are two types of players when it comes to the meta category- Players who exploit things such as the lack of a log out timer and how easy it is to hop servers in order to get loot, gain an advantage in a gunfight, and escape other players and players who do not do this and try to have the most legitimate, server-hop / logout free experience they can. There are tons of times where I've met server hoppers on servers, and if I kill them, they're loaded with gear (most of the time.) If I kill another, normal player whose looted on military-style area on one or two servers, he barely has anything compared to the hoppers. His gun usually lacks attachments, and though he probably has tons of magazines (due to the spawns), he isn't as geared up as a hopper would. The only thing is that the hoppers and players who are likely to exploit the game in order to gain advantages and avoid situations that may harm them are a lot harder to kill, as they'll simply log off if they see you and then log back on right behind you. Plus, the fact people server hop high-loot areas is actually a bit scary for someone like me. When I finally get to NWAF, NEAF, or any of the Military Installations, I try to be as fast as possible so I don't get caught by another player joining in to get some gear. I'm extra careful. Is this a good or a bad thing? Normally you can scout the area to make sure noone is there already, but now you have to make sure noone is about to join the server to find some loot. Unfortunately, there will always be players who exploit the system to gain advantages. -
What can be made into Rags should be fixed because of the Zeds' infinite bleeding damage hit super power
hannibaldaplaya posted a topic in General Discussion
I recently went to the NEAF and after an hour of running there I began to loot the Airstrip. When I entered one of the buildings, a zed followed me inside and I ran upstairs. Somehow, it hit me from the bottom floor while I was looting one of the rooms, and after using my bandage to bandage myself, I got hit again and started bleeding. So I tried ripping my raincoat into rags. Nope. So I tried ripping some pants into rags. NOPE. So I tried ripping anything rational into rags. NOOOOOOOPE. In only a few minutes I went from near full blood to black and white, and I then died. I died because a zed hit me from the bottom floor, caused me to bleed (apparently until the end of time), and I couldn't rip any of my clothes into rags. I was expecting to die from a sniper or another player, but instead this got me. My suggestion, based on this experience is- WIDEN THE AMOUNT OF THINGS YOU CAN TEAR INTO RAGS. -
WHAT THE FUCK. So if I'm getting lag from shadows or having a high view distance, I shouldn't be able to turn it down because of what reason again? HOLY SHIT YOUR LOGIC IS FLAWED. What if I find a certain set of controls uncomfortable? Oh, boy, I should just deal with it! Moving that voice chat key or changign which button opens the inventory is going to make the game SO SOFTCORE! WOW! No, no, no, no. MAPPING / MODDING = YES SHITTY PRIVATE HIVES WITH SPAWN WITH SNIPPERS AN GHILLIES = NO
-
So lets throw mapping out of the window. Lets force players to only be able to play one way, or the highway. Maybe I'd like to see players making maps and other things for their private servers? I never even played Chernarus on the mod, I always played Namalsk or some of the other maps. Why? It was refreshing to have the option of where to survive.

What? I'm not allowed to have control over my gaming experience? Should I not be able to change my graphical settings or controls, too?

Reality Virtual Engine-Bad for DayZ
hannibaldaplaya replied to Devinnspell's topic in General Discussion
The only problem I have with the engine is the clunky movement, terrible melee, and general lack of "control" when it comes to moving your character. -
Players who exploit the ability to server hop and players who don't.
hannibaldaplaya replied to hannibaldaplaya's topic in New Player Discussion
So logging out to avoid other players is totally legit. It isn't like in a real apocalypse you can't just hop to another universe to avoid some douchebags. Right? -

hannibaldaplaya replied to hannibaldaplaya's topic in General Discussion
THE ZOMBIE WAS BELOW ME! It was hitting me from the bottom floor while I was on the top floor, while I was bandaging! Your logic / counter to my points is just absurd. I had a weapon, when did I say otherwise? I had a crowbar and didn't want to spend 5 minutes on a zombie, so I went upstairs to logically loot the place before taking the problem outside. I expect more from you. I agree with every post you make, but it isn't because the zombies aren't that hard. Its because it was hitting me from a floor underneath me. I couldn't even see it, yet I was getting hit. How is that not some sort of super power? -

When vehicles / cars are added.. Vehicle Damage Balance?
hannibaldaplaya posted a topic in General Discussion
There was one problem with vehicles in the mod. Anyone could shoot down your vehicle in a few seconds with an assault rifle. This causes balance issues, and I'm pretty sure isn't realistic unless you hit specific parts. There should be a few specific ways to take a vehicle out: Kill the Driver. The most obvious thing to do. Shoot the driver, once he's dead, he can't keep driving. Viola. Shoot out the tires. The car is going to slow down or halt. Makes it easier for you to do step 1 or catch up. Destroy the vehicle by firing at the engine or another spot which makes sense. This also allows players to spend extra time protecting their vulnerabilities while driving by taking protective measures such as; Reinforcing the side windows and such with metal and other things to make it a tad harder for the attackers to shoot down the driver. Having extra tires onboard or reinforcing the tires to withstand more damage. Reinforcing spots on the vehicle that may be exploited to completely fuck up your vehicle.Plus, there needs to be some things you can do in vehicles that make sense, as a person inside one; We should be able to duck down. This way, players who are riding in a vehicle can duck down and make themselves less exposed to gunfire. We should be able to jump out. If a passenger wants to get the fuck out of there, potentially saving his life but perhaps injuring him, he should be able to exit while the vehicle is moving, jumping out and hopefully landing somewhere soft. Perhaps, a player who jumps has a chance to break their legs? Passengers should be able to lean out of the vehicle or fire from the windows. This may seem silly, but its realistic. Passengers should also suffer accuracy losses as they are moving and are not in a position where its easy to aim. What do you guys think? -
When vehicles / cars are added.. Vehicle Damage Balance?
hannibaldaplaya replied to hannibaldaplaya's topic in General Discussion
Still, it could be useful. What if you're getting shot at from the front? Ducking. From the side? Players may shoot at the windows, mainly. Ducking is still useful and since I can do it real life, I should be able to do it in game. -
Will we eventually get Map Making Capabilities?
hannibaldaplaya posted a topic in General Discussion
I hope these will come during late Beta or at Retail Release, as allowing players to create custom maps for their PRIVATE hives would be a fantastic idea. Players who get sick of Chernarus can hop onto a custom server, with a custom map, and have a refreshing experience. I'd love to make a map with very few trees, set in the Winter, where you're more likely to find little towns then big cities. Bunkers, Military Installations, and such would be the only hotspots as the map would consist of snowy, ruined towns, connected by roads. Throw in an iced over, freezing river, if possible, and you'd have yourself a desolate, cold experience. Throw in temperature and the need to stay warm and it forces players to make camps and fires (when thats implemented) meaning that you're not going to be moving much unless you're bundled up. I'd make it so that the city like buildings would be spread apart, as well. So you'd go to a small town, with scattered houses a long the road, and perhaps one school building or supermarket. Small towns would have buildings that could yield valuable loot, but only a few of them would. This would make it so players would stop as smaller towns more often, and there would be less "deathzones." The military installations would have only a few barracks, tents, and such, making it so you don't just load up on 500 bullets and two M4A1's along with tons of camouflage. Also, will we be seeing more maps in the future? Chernarus is swell, but it can get boring after a while. In the mod, you had options, such as Namalsk. Right now, we're limited to Chernarus. There are plenty of Arma 2 / Mod maps they could port, though they'd have to go through the process of making the buildings enterable and making them a bit more apocalyptic. -
Why they need to fix zoom (in conjuction with FOV)

Why they need to fix zoom (in conjuction with FOV)
hannibaldaplaya replied to The_Man's topic in General Discussion
Don't have a narrow FOV? Take away my FOV options and I will put your head on a pike. I want to play at 110 - 120 FOV because that is my preference. I love that shit. EDIT: Misread the thread. Oops. This needs fixed. -
Its mainly because people just want things to argue about, imo

Dean "Rocket" Hall, may I ask a Favor?
hannibaldaplaya replied to Joseph1234's topic in General Discussion
(PROBABLY) No. You can easily get a PC for a decent price that can handle this game, as long as you make sure to get a set of specifications that the engine currently knows how to use correctly. Plus, the control layout and other complexities of this game make it nearly impossible. The game would have to be streamlined in terms of movement controls and inventory controls. Throw in how inaccurate a controller is with aiming, and you have yet another problem. So, yeah, probably not. -
Unarmed / Low Tier Melee Players not Listening to Armed Guys

Except we're talking about bandits mugging / holding up people and resorting to shoot a player when they don't cooperate. -
Unarmed / Low Tier Melee Players not Listening to Armed Guys
hannibaldaplaya replied to hannibaldaplaya's topic in New Player Discussion
I'm not on a powertrip... I simply held up the guy instead of killing him, and it ended in me killing him because he wouldn't cooperate. -
Looking to pick up a new PC, suggested specs to handle both DayZ SA and other High-End games?
hannibaldaplaya posted a topic in General Discussion
Now, the reason I am asking is that I know DayZ and Arma 2 are games that handle your specifications in quite a weird manner, so I want to know what the best possible specs to get would be for my new PC. I need specs that not only handle DayZ SA and Arma 2 at a good framerate, but specs that also handle most games at a good framerate as well. My budget is around $1000, and I'd just like to know your recommendations. I currently run the game at decent framerate, but it tanks in cities and makes PVP near impossible if I'm attacked. I've also been planning to get a new and better PC, so now is the time to make sure my desired specs can handle what I want to play. Suggestions? -
This is WAY too common, especially when you factor in zeds that can hit you while facing the other way. This forces you to take the time to tear up your shirt, slowly bandage yourself up after clicking use several times to get it to work, and really doesn't make sense. When I'm bashing at a zed with a shovel, it shouldn't be able to slash at me, its attacks should be interrupted if I am the one who hits first. Plus, bleeding occurs almost everytime I'm hit. Am I just unlucky?

The Angels of Death invite you to a Naked Boxing Battle Royale!
hannibaldaplaya replied to caledric's topic in General Discussion
Uh, be careful. A player could easily come and wreak havoc. Are you going to have armed guards to take out any hostile geared players? -
I hope they add map editing as the first thing you can modify, so that we can get community made maps and stuff like that.
-
So? You can dual wield in real life, it just isn't accurate for shit. Its like a stupid, badass looking gimmick that is going to get you killed! :D
-
Make it so they're incredibly inaccurate and deal. You can do it in real life, so, why not? Have fun cocking the two revolvers back, lol.
