Zeds are only difficult due to their wall walking and general glitching. I love a challenge when it isnt a fristrating clunky mess. Fix the zombies, add in stealth, and fix the melee. Then we will have a fun challenge. Good challenges do not make you feel cheated by clunky glotches, they make you feel accomplished or stupid, if you make a mistake. -

I agree, this is literally the only reason I can't see DayZ being the "perfect" survival game, if the controls stay this clunky. The clunk of the controls makes indoor navigation terrible, and also makes melee worst then it really is. It also just feels so damn foreign. When I walk in a building, it is like my character is drunk! Really, if a game was released tomorrow with smooth controls and the features DayZ currently has, I'd switch over to it. If someone made a game with the tense combat of DayZ, the harshness, and the character customization, I would move to it immediately. Though I enjoy DayZ, I wouldn't be able to stick with a game where everything feels stiff and clunky. Due to the clunk of the controls, I don't think we'll ever get a game where you can enjoyable kill zombies. Lets compare DayZ to Project Zomboid, an isometric Zombie Survival RPG- In Project Zomboid, melee combat is tense, yet fluid. You can charge up a swing, knock down your opponent, and then bash their head into little bits. You run out of stamina, can only really shove when the zed gets really close, and most importantly, taking out the zombie isn't frustrating- Even the worst weapons don't take ten hits or more. Despite how tense the combat is, it is enjoyable and feels damn realistic, for an isometric RPG. The gunplay isn't as good, however, and it becomes point and shoot due to the game's perspective. In DayZ, melee combat is the definition of clunk. You strafe and run around a zed, repeatedly hitting it, sometimes up to 12 times depending on the weapon. When it eventually goes down, you let out a sigh of relief- Not at the fact you killed the zed, but at the fact you FINALLY KILLED THE DAMN THING. You're more grateful for not having to deal with the clunk then eliminating the threat. It gets to the point where you just run away, lose them in the trees, then turn back to where you were, unless you have an axe. If you have any sort of axe, melee becomes clunky, but easy, since you just have to nail one - two hits on the zombie. Without an axe, melee is overly long and frustrating. With an axe, its easy but still clunky. Fortunately, DayZ's gunplay is a lot better then Zomboid's, since it is an FPS. Despite the weird and unrealistic spray / spread, its still tense, and feels precise (most of the time.) The problem with DayZ's melee and controls right now is that if they stick, how will players deal with hordes without utter frustration? It shouldn't be easy, but it should feel as if you're not getting cheated by the game's systems. Hordes should be scary, not because the clunky controls prevent you from combatting them, but because they are hordes. Right now, players shoot zombies with their M4A1s because they don't want to go through the process of using melee, though abundant ammo adds to this. TL;DR - DayZ's controls need improved or the game may go down the drain as more zombie-driven features are implemented -

So, yeah. Sometimes I feel bad about killing players when they're not doing anything wrong. Other times, I get a nice rush and some tense excitement from killing those who are being assholes (i.e sniping bandits at Kamyshovo who are murdering / mugging freshspawns.) Do I need to grow some balls and realize this is a game or just not do anything about it? Is the fact the game giving me such a reaction a good thing? I think so, at least. -

You're saying people shouldn't suggest or ask when or if sticks will be added? You came to a thread asking why there are no sticks in a forest and you are treating the OP like they are the devil for doing so. That's pretty idiotic. Really, you kind of people who see any sort of suggestion or thread about some sort of in-game flaw as "annoying" are what ruin the forums right now! You literally can't make a suggestion without getting people who try to yell at you for suggesting stuff during Alpha (not like thats what you're supposed to do anything, yeaah) or telling someone to stop whining when they report or bring up a bug or something that doesn't make sense in a thread. -

A wild idiot appears! So you're implying you can't find sticks in the fucking woods? OH BOY, OH BOY! Seriously, man, you can find some sticks in the woods, and you can shop some down if you have an axe. They need to add this, pronto, because some sticks right now are way too fucking rare and it seems as if finding them (one of the most simple things you can get irl) is as hard as finding a LRS. -

It sucks. So easy to get "hacks" for a game anymore. :/ Most major games like this have ESPs for players, items, and more incredibly earlier- Its sickening.

I have to admit, its fun to see people scatter when you shoot them from quite a distance- I've only seen this when sniping some actual bandits, who I saw actually killing other players. Is it worth ruining another person's fun? I dunno. I didn't hesitate killing two guys in a Firestation with my magnum today though, mainly because they were trying to rush me with their axes... -

Make it so that preparing the meat is difficult and that it eventually decomposes if kept raw. A turn-based strategy game called Neo Scavenger did this well. You'd get a lot of meat off of a dead human body but you wouldn't be able to cook and preserve it all in time. -
Also, before you yell "ITS ALPHER!", if masks weren't a 'priority', why do we have Payday masks in game, eh? Also, a varsity jacket. WHAT I AM SAYING IS GET US SOME PIG MASKS, HORSE MASKS, WHATEVER. ALL THAT SHIT.
