So? Respawn. Try again. This game is about perseverance and player interaction. Moments you call 'scummy' are what makes this game great - You can't trust anybody. -

At least you were a tracksuit. I can respect that, another tracksuit brother.

Shotguns should be one-shot kills to the torso or head at close range. Legs or arms should be broken or hindered belong belief if hit there. Close quarters, the gun is crazy. Medium range, its only going to nip at people and cause injuries. Load slugs instead, however, which I hope we get, and the weapon will become much more formidable. Buff, devs. Buff it again...

To The Man I Killed In Vybor....
hannibaldaplaya replied to gcriseightysix's topic in General Discussion
I wouldn't have gave him a chance. A man with a loaded gun in a city I'm in is a threat. Especially when I'm armed, he is going to have to die. Why? He'll most likely gladly shoot me for all of my gear. He has nothing really to lose other then a low-tier gun and his location on the map. I would have shot him from the window and got it over with. Getting fired at is something you don't want to happen, its too risky to take any damage. Always take the advantage of surprise. -
And for once I actually agree with Caboose... Hell has frozen over.

If you don't want a game where people can mess with you extensively, play another game or wise up and learn to avoid them. It is someone's choice to not play the game over these kind of 'issues'. I don't grief but it certainly adds to the game as it makes you fear scumbags and reminds you not everyone is Mister Friendly Friend. The same argument can be used against toning down loot, as players may not buy or could leave the game over not being able to find anything. However, this would soften up / 'casual' the experience, causing it to devolve into something easier. KoS is not an issue and adds to the paranoia and fear in this game. Players never really trust each other which makes the game great. Backstabbing also makes for fun or interesting stories, victim or backstabber alike. Guess what you can do in real life? Grow food, hunt animals, shoot bottles, read books, open cans with whatever you want, eat people, kill people, break people's legs, pry out their eyes... the list goes on and on. If the game wants to be realistic, 'griefing' aspects are necessary. Plus, the ways to do it in game are limited. You can shoot people. You can break their legs. You can handcuff them and forcefeed them stuff. That is about it. There is no real amputation, mutilation, or really fucked up stuff right now. So, yeah, not 30 different ways to grief other players. More so... 4, maybe 5. Honestly, getting fucked with by other players in DayZ is a part of the experience. Removing that would make the game much less tense and thus less fun, in my opinion.

Investigations? I doubt it. People have always got false-banned. Handing out bans for 'duping' is silly, just automatically remove glitched in / duped in items. Accidents have happened and not everyone will be recording to have evidence of their 'innocence' against almighty BattleEye.

Third Person View should be Over-the-Shoulder, NOT a bird's eye view.
hannibaldaplaya replied to Rags!'s topic in General Discussion
You can and have to occasionally switch to 1pp in 3pp servers. If the FOV is not wide enough or too wide, it may not fit the player's preference and cause nausea or other unwanted issues. Plus, a smushed in or narrow field of view on third person would also heavily detract from the experience for some. Choice is better, keep the fucking slider. -

hannibaldaplaya replied to Rags!'s topic in General Discussion
NO. Never. This is a PC game. Limiting FOV is absolute bullshit. I hope you never become a developer, as its clear you will justify such asshattery as limiting one's FOV by this sort of stupid logic. No. -
Who cares about griefing? This is a video game. Avoid the 'griefers' and be cautious before you try to make friends with somebody...

Cannibalism is a good addition to the game because it is authentic and shows that the developers are willing to step into 'risky' ground to create their vision. HOWEVER, Its going to need to be partnered with the following: Revamp of the Starvation and Dehydration Systems, where Malnutrition / Weakness for Hunger is a factor. Death from starvation is slow but will hinder your character greatly. Your movement / activity and Hydration will directly effect your Starvation. One who runs and does not drink will die faster from hunger, one who walks and stays in the same place while keeping hydrated will last longer but will still become a scrawny weak piece of shit if they don't get food in their system after a while.Tone down food spawns immensely. Make it so fruit-picking is more viable then finding cans. Buff cans. Make canned goods sought after. Two - three cans of beans should be enough for a 'DayZ day.' Finding two - three cans of beans should be hell-like. Apples and tomatoes on the other hand...Inspire players to hunt and farm. Alternative ways of bringing in food. Make fresh spawns fight against starvation and force players who want to survive to fight for their food. Those who are not weak from malnutrition will be respected hunters, aspiring farmers, or lucky fuckers who got their hands on a can stash. This would make Cannibalism viable and a clear resort as players, even those with guns and 'gear', would slowly fall to their knees at Malnutrition. When there are no cans around and dozens of apples just aren't filling you up, human flesh will have to substitute less you want to die. I will honestly not eat anybody in game and will instead hunt cannibals. This will add to the 'roleplay' aspect of the game for me and also make even more dramatic scenes across the countryside of men shot and skinned, not just, well, shot. So, bring on the Cannibals. Maybe we shouldn't even call them Cannibals, maybe we should call them just people with an... exotic taste.

What about accidental dupes? Permanent bans = No no. Deletion of 'duped' items once identified = Ye ye.

Lets shit all over a mod.. of a mod.. in a thread completely unrelated to Epoch. Did you not read the guys posted? He heavily modified it to scrape up the shit.

Fucking unacceptable. The developers should be ashamed. 5.45 will fuck you up, same with 9mm. Both of these calibers should have their damage rates buffed, dear lord.
-
Doesn't matter, our characters are required to eat way too much food. The loot spawns for food should be toned down in turn for a better and in-depth starvation system where you can live long without food but malnutrition and weakness from hunger will creep up on you instead of a quick death. Starvation should also be directly influenced by hydration, meaning that if one is hydrated, they will last longer then if they were thirsty when starving. Also, movement should factor in - If you're not doing much, you should survive longer then a starving man running four miles searching for food.

I was playing DayZ for the first time in months, doing some detective work to see if it was worth getting back into again. During my venture, I was killed by two axes, once instantly, the other a long clunkfest. On my third life I was going through the new, big city, the one with the tower. On my way to that very tower I had to kill a fellow man, as he put a bullet into my chest. Now, for some reason, I was able to charge him down with a sledgehammer despite taking a 7.62x39... After killing him in a matter I thought was bullshit, I made sure to apologize over mic but didn't stop myself from taking all of his glorious shit. I was still in my Paulie Walnuts outfit, a tracksuit, basically, and decided to head towards the tower since I had just finished royally fucking this dude (whose name was Windows 95) with a sledgehammer. When I got there, I found... There were DOZENS of SKS rifles and Blaze 95's, DOZENS of them! Everywhere, really. After going through the tower of a LOTTA FUCKIN' GUNS, I noticed a pattern. There were a shitload of SKS's and Blaze 95's, but only a handful of Mosins, Repeaters, CZ's, and Sporter 22's. Derringers were all over, too, the most common of pistols in the tower, really. There was one 1911 and one P1, but there were three to four Derringers spread around. On my way out, thoroughly mindfucked, Windows 95 was back. I'm not joking. He was too mindfucked... by both a .357 to the head (and one to the chest). On my way back down I encountered a rabid freshie and that new pump shotgun. So.. what do you guys think of these loot spawns? Since its clear something is fucking up with the tower and some other locations, too. How long has this been an issue, or this recent to .50? Discuss.

How fun it is to select an action repeatable. You must love hitting the middle mouse button... Not to say its a bad feature, but still.
