I have a stockpile of this stuff.

"New players" reaction to this patch is just like..

Yet again, you're stating you think those who played the mod before the Standalone are better then those who have only played the Standalone. Stop this elitism. You're assuming all of those who haven't played the mod are underneath you, when they aren't. Btw, I played the mod, I just don't like silly elitism.

The game always says I'm getting wet... Well, game, I'll tell you when I'm aroused, damnit!

    After New Patch Session Lost.

Are you crashing or just losing connection?
  5. I have three things to suggest. NOTICE: I am not going on like everyone else about adding loot respawns / randomizing them. Though I want this done, I am suggesting more junk loot to spawn, k? 1) LOCKED BUILDINGS I was recently playing an RPG called Neo Scavenger, which features locked storage sheds. To get past the lock, you either need something like a crowbar or lockpicking tools. Now, lets say we add this to DayZ. Perhaps have locked cabinets in military / police establishments (Someone has suggested locked Police armory cabinets but I am suggesting more general locked stuff, good idea though and props to the original suggestor!) , or locked sheds near farms, houses, etc. Basically, lock some areas off and throw in some loot behind those closed doors that makes sense. This not only forces the player to come up with a way to get past the lock, by either shooting it, prying it off, or picking through it (or finding the key), it also gives items like the crowbar a practical use. Currently, the crowbar is a shitty melee weapon (though I'm pretty sure it would fair well in real life) that has no use other then to be a low tier melee that you won't hold on to for long. Throw in locked buildings, and you have an incentive. Players can pry off those locks with a crowbar and gain access to loot other players can't get to. Crowbars would become practical tools kept by smart survivors, who know they may encounter a locked storage container in a building that may have things they need. 2) MORE JUNK LOOT Right now, sticks and stones are rare. This needs to change. Realistically, I can go into the woods and snap off some sticks from the nearest trees. You do need an axe to get some high quality logs / firewood, but sticks? You can get sticks easily. I say, spawn sticks and stones in the forest or allow us to interact with a tree or the ground to pick up rocks and sticks. Also, throw in empty cans and useless stuff that we don't need. We need more leftovers then rotten fruit! 3) CHOLERA Right now, water can't get you sick, but what if it could? Should we just have some sort of vanilla "infected / sick" status? Nah. Throw in the threat of Cholera, a disease where your character shits his brains out to the point where he needs a constant stream of water to survive against the dehydration he will suffer. Combat it with antibiotics, but throw your pants in the nearest lake as they will most definitely be ruined.

What is good about this game?

we're getting a lot of these lately, its a drought of creative new players who react to issues optimistically and provide constructive feedback, all we have are pessimists who do the opposite

    Larger capacity craftable backpack

I think he means that since the improvised backpacks have like a total of 12 slots, could we get one with say, 20? He isn't asking for a 100 slot bag, Jesus Christ.

2 major issues restricting the alpha of it's potential.

Wow, the amount of insulting you are doing to this guy for making a harmless post where he points out issues he sees in the game (also known as the point of being an Alpha tester) is disheartening to me. Stop it, let people suggest things. There is no reason to yell Alpha unless they're screaming in All Caps about wanting a refund and actually whining, this guy isn't.

Again no word about loot respawn

Right now, what is the point in stopping at houses with open doors or looking for a weapon in any place other then military airfields, piano houses, school buildings, or places where you are guaranteed a weapon spawn? The loot system should work like this- Certain areas have a higher chance of spawning specific loot. Military gear is more common at military places, but not exclusive. Etc. Etc. Any area has a chance to spawn an item or weapon. The chance is just lower then other areas. For example, a house that you've never once saw a .22 spawn in could spawn a .22, but only has a small chance to. Right now, civilian weaponry is limited to specific spawns which most vet players know about. There is no reason to search any other civilian houses for civilian weapons when you know they don't spawn them. In my honest opinion, all houses should have a chance of spawning civilian weapons and loot. You should also be able to find civilian versions of Military weapons like the AR-15 (very rarely) in civilian homes. What I am saying is, expand civilian weaponry and randomize how the loot respawns. Nowadays I run right towards a piano house when I see one as I know guns spawn in there. That yellow house? No thanks.

    Bling 1911

According to your logic, everyone who disagrees with you or attempts to call you out is a whining kid who cries a lot. You do realize, everytime you call someone a 'crybaby', you just make yourself look like the immature kid? You also appear to have a large ego, as you are unbelievable stubborn. ON TOPIC: Ivory handles on M1911's. Love it. The M1911 is one of my favorite pistols. The design is sleek, and would be my alternative to a large revolver.

    Mouse acceleration = NO!

Remove mouse acceleration, devs, immediately. There are no excuses. You are doing the opposite of what players want.

    Regarding future updates

I hope sticks / rocks can be harvested in the wild by then...

New glitch or could we never loot bodies that fell?

They need to increase the despawn time. I miss massacres at Kamyshovo leaving tons of pantless corpses... would be fun to see as a fresh spawn.
  19. If it was saved on your PC it would be exploited. Easily.

Crafting, the future and what *you* want to see

I want to be able to take a bayonet of any sort, a branch from a tree, and then smooth out the branch into a nice, long stick with the bayonet or knife, and then use ducktape to tape the knife to the edge of my creation. Or, I want to be able to make a set of goggles, with one side being a Long Range Scope. When I pull them down, with an easy to click button, I can easily survey the area while appearing badass. Perhaps Binoculagoggles? I want to be able to spray poisons like disinfectant spray or the juice from specific berries onto my arrows, so that I can deal extended, long range, potentially fatal damage from a distance with a bow made by myself. I want to be able to wear a cloak made out of the skin of a deer I have killed. I will look as tribal as possible. Maybe even a slain bear or other rare, dangerous animal could be fashioned into an intimidating outfit that would be prized around Chernarus.

Punishing the aggressor - How far is too far?

You'd be the best sheriff in town.
  23. Overall, this was a great post, though.
  24. No offense, but you were a lot nicer to this guy then the last person to post a well-thought out impressions of their experience in DayZ SA. The only difference being this man played the mod... Those who have played the mod and those who have not are on equal levels. We are playing the Standalone, not the mod.
