Think of it like this- Everytime a zombie hits you, your press vest snaps a picture, sends it to the nearby Chernarussian Channel 4 News center, and then upgrades your press vest for getting the materials.

The reason you are seeing people doing things they did in the mod is because- 1. We're on the same map. 2. DayZ SA's PVP is a lot like DayZ Mod's PVP, other then SA's fucked up ballistics. Sniping works, a lot of people like to sit on hills and shoot at freshies running through Elektro. Some people like to do this without a LRS, as well, and fancy using a super low FOV to get a huge zoom out of their iron sights. Is this a problem? Well, the low FOV super iron sight zoom exploit is a problem, but other then that, these players are just trying to 'snipe'. Something you might not agree with, but something they can do, as this is a sandbox. Remember, snipers aren't invincible. Other players aren't invincible. When you die, its due to a mistake, especially if you are armed. Always keep an eye on your back and utilize tactics when dealing with hostiles. A bad sniper can be easily flanked and taken out. The best part? Most snipers at Elektro are just that, bad snipers.

Though I agree he should have died a long time ago, I don't think him using a crossbow should determine this. All weapons have their pros and cons. A crossbow does not mean certain death. It has its advantages, which is being quiet, and being able to retrieve ammunition if you track down where it hit. It isn't necessarily as effective against other survivors as a sniper rifle or an assault rifle, but it has its advantages against zombies and unaware survivors. It is also a unique weapon, and in a game like DayZ, some players will just pick certain weapons to mix things up and have some fun. The crossbow will be something I grab not because I think it will be reliable and versatile in combat, but because it will be something and different to use then, say, an M4A1 or an AKM.

DayZ should never port to console, for a few good reasons. A ) The Controller is not fit for the RV Engine's controls. What will be lean? What will be crouch? What will be prone? What will be raise weapon? Etc. B ) The Consoles would not be able to handle the game unless it was heavily optimized. C ) Games like DayZ can be incentives for console gamers to realize why they should buy a PC. It can open up their eyes and show them all of the exclusives, sales, and bonuses of gaming on a PC. This is a bit unlikely, though. D ) How would the inventory system be managed? EH?

The Dead Linger has worst. Actually, no, DayZ SA has worst. They hit you from 10m away and slide through walls while using ESP to know your position, no matter what.

I would reccomend practicing on zombies on low pop servers or using Arma 2's armory mode, though Arma 2's guns are a lot more accurate / realistic.

I always run through Elektro talking on my mic in the most sophisticated voice I can make about how I am the Librarian and I am here to confiscate all books that are overdue, and if you have one of these books then you are going to give them up or you will have to pay a large late fee, as I am the Librarian! I go around picking up all the books in town and mugging people for their books. When they don't have them, which is most of the time, I call them primitive screwheads and move on.

Some people, even after several deaths from the same action, continue doing so as long as it gets them a few good experiences. For me, it has. KOS is no fun. I prefer to talk and make encounters interesting, even if it is hostile.

Well, they waited before shooting. It wouldn't be KOS as they didn't immediately open fire on sight.
