Dean Hall on Dayz ported to consoles.

Lol, DayZ with a controller @ lowest running 10 FPS, I can only imagine.
  2. These features will be good. Being able to fashion tribal style weapons from the woods will be great. Ineffective, not durable weapons, but makeshift and tribal and shit.
  3. I'd really like to see this. Even a game like Project Zomboid is currently lacking this feature! In real life, I would not barricade my windows with planks until I had to. I would move dressers in front of windows, couches in front of doors, etc. Very makeshift barricades that would be rather easy to get through, but still basic enough to hide and defend your 'base'. If a horde of zombies was coming for me, or a physco with an axe, I would rush inside a room, close the door, and push all the furniture against that door and look for a window to climb out of. I would slow the zeds or the fellow from getting through without having to nail planks to a door. Really, being able to move furniture will also expand barricading from more then just that. Players will be able to take dressers, tables, beds, and couches, and use them to make makeshift perimeter fences. This will not only look impressive, it will look survive-y and makeshift. Unfortunately, I fear the game will stick to things like planks being the main barricading tool. :/

    A Guide to having FUN

Not cracking jokes or being serious can cost you your life. People ar eless likely to shoot someone lighthearted then they are someone who isn't fun to talk to. :|
  5. I've been playing DayZ for a while. A lot of times, I play with friends. When playing with these friends, I get to know how they play. Sometimes they are on full population servers, all the time, hardcore mode, that kind of stuff. Others force me to get on a low population server for boring loot sessions with them. Others take me and others to airfields and try to get us to server hop repeatedly with them. Some even offer me duplicated guns from an exploitable bug. Are they bad people? No, not at all. The only dupers I met were randoms who were friendly to me. Of course, I didn't accept their duped weapons, and wasn't supportive of it, but they didn't shoot me on sight. Though they did talk about sniping at Elektro with the long range scope mosins they had duplicated, which pissed me off to a certain extent. But other then this, where they bad people? Where they scum? Not really. Sure, the dupers who used the dupe gear to kill freshspawns on the coast, yeah, they aren't necessarily valuable members of the community. But the server hoppers? Most of the time, its just people pissed off that loot won't respawn who don't want to run for a few hours to get stuff. Of course, this is usually with the mildest of server hoppers. People who hop once or twice and then stop. The people who insist on hopping more then ten times for gear? Most of the time, they're only in it to hoard ammunition, accessories, etc. Server hopping is a rather common thing, even if you only do it once. The lack of loot respawn can push people to do it when they find an area that was probably looted 2 hours ago. The number of server hoppers will drop when loot respawn is added. The number of dupers will drop when the glitches are patched. But the question is, should anyone even be doing this? Especially when they use this advantage against other players? In my opinion, duping and then using the duped ammunition or guns to kill other, friendly or freshly spawned players is just a dick move. What about you guys?

    A Guide to having FUN

I don't see how you're having any fun then, I've tried the whole super-north-super-serious-super-survival stuff and it gets boring after a while, it is a lot more fun to take risks and play carelessly. :P

Proper Evisceration & Decapitation Would Be Nice

So wanting gore is "surprising?" Wow. I feel insulted. A gritty, authentic survival game should be as gory as possible. I want to walk down the street of Elektro and look at dead bodies, their heads blown off, blood all over the ground. It adds to the atmosphere, and it is realistic. I want the images of fallen players to be almost as sickening as the images of actual fallen people. I want to look at a guy who was shot in the gut and say, "Holy shit." Is that bad? Without gore, my immersion is wrecked. Corpses all look like dynamic, static objects, with no way for someone to determine how they died.

Hunting- It better be damn hard

Some people think the animals should be bland, simple AI that requires no skill to hunt. Guys, this is a survival game. A survival game trying to be heavily authentic. I'm pretty sure an authentic survival game should have animals that are a challenge to hunt and don't allow you to just drive through the woods in a pickup while your friend in the back sprays deer down with an M60, because in real life all the animals will be bolting the hell away from such a noisy thing.

Hunting- It better be damn hard

I was not expecting so many beans for this post. Clearly the forum wants realistic hunting. I don't see how anyone can enjoy braindead animals!
  10. Now that the thread by the fellow who wanted the 10 minute despawn of bodies to only be removed so he can just run back to his body, I want to make one with a point for it that isn't silly. The reason I want bodies to not despawn after 10 minutes is so that if someone dies, and someone later stumbles upon their body, they can loot that body. In real life, if a man falls off a roof and dies, his body will not disappear in 10 minutes. It will stay there, slowly decaying. For a few days anyone could stumble upon the corpse and take everything off of it. Sure, not having bodies despawn after 10 minutes will promote rushing back to your dead body to grab your stuff, but this can be prevented. Simply make it so that you can not loot your own corpse. This way, others can come upon your 2-hour dead corpse, loot it, but you can not. I really don't see a reason for bodies to stay til restart if the above feature is implemented. It would add some immersion to players, as they walk past dozens of corpses. You would know that a massacre took place here, or even a mass suicide. Right now, 10 minutes is also not a lot of time for looting corpses in HUGE FIREFIGHTS. If you are sniping, and shoot someone, killing them, you have 10 minutes to get to their position and loot their corpse. Now, if they have a friend, he can simply stake out at his chump's corpse for you. You either have to risk your life to get the loot, or hope that the guy leaves in 10 minutes. Having a more realistic despawn time and the inability to loot your own corpses would allow players to take their time with looting bodies. The 10 minute timer makes you sort of rush to do so, especially in areas like Elektro where you don't want to risk being shot. It would give players time to secure the perimeter, and would also allow new players to pick ruined gear off of long dead corpses. Plus, seeing a ton of corpses in the street just adds to the apocalyptic feel.

    Aluminum Bats

    Yes please.
  12. Alright, thank you, but when I viewed the post it was still there.
  13. .... I was going to give you beans, then you called this thread "Redundant." Thank you for informing me its due to server performance, but can you refrain from insulting my thread? Thank you, I appreciate your reply.

    will fire be spreadable?

Unfortunately, no. For a few logical reasons- A. Would be hard to optimize and make realistic. B. Would be abused by 12 year old kiddos.

    New SMG Announced... Any guesses?

    Micro Uzi.
  16. hannibaldaplaya

The Uzi, come on, you know you want it

There is nothing like spraying .45 ACP while straightening your white jacket and blue shirt. It is an experience rivaled by no other gun, other then perhaps the Mac-10, but fuck the Mac-10. The Uzi has style. It has utter class. It has also been around since the 50's and is a widespread submachine gun. You can also conceal it. Put it in your bag, with a dozen mags. No one will ever have to know you have one of the most badass automatic weapons with you. They'll only get to know this when you pull it out and hold desperately into that trigger until they are dead and your gun goes click.

    Clothes should have splitted slots

    Good idea.
  18. hannibaldaplaya

The Uzi, come on, you know you want it

I know its multiple calibers, I just prefer my Uzis in .45 ACP. Though they would probably add it in 9mm.

    Stashing LOOT

I will hide my bag in some Kamyshovo bush and keep a pistol without a mag in it and one round so I can hunt fresh spawn slaughterers with the challenge of one round.
