I personally believe the game needs to up the difficulty of surviving alone. I am currently energized up north west, with enough food to get myself back to energized whenever it goes down, with enough ammunition to supply many men, and enough pistols to arm a group of three. The big problem here is that the only thing I worry about is getting shot by another player, but if I do, who cares? I'm only cautious due to my engraved 1911 and even if I do die, I can gear up with normal stuff rather easily. There are advantages to group play, don't get me wrong, but you can do fine without a group. With a group, you have more then one player, you have safety in numbers, coordination, and someone to talk to. With yourself, you have you, your adrenaline, and your nerves, and in some moments your nerves can kill you. Right now groups are only safety nets- They provide you safety in numbers when it comes to other players, not zombies, not starvation, not anything. DayZ needs to have a threatening enviroment. I want disease. I want to fight starvation. I want to have so few rounds I feel like I'm playing No More Room in Hell with an 11 year old who hoards all the bullets. I want to be so scared of dying of cholera or something else I have a reason to carry more then just bandages. I want to be afraid of approaching an area, player or not, I want to fear what may lie inside. I want to be forced to hunt, when they do add hunting, instead of just doing it for fun. I want to despise the enviroment for how harsh it is on me. Right now, none of these things I want are in game. All my worries are centered are on other players. We need reasons to group together, and what reasons can we have? - Make backpacks carry a lot less. You can carry so many magazines, so many rounds, so many cans of food, so many medical supplies, all with one backpack. Make us be forced to switch out certain things for other things. Make things bigger, make bags smaller. - Add diseases, and add LOTS of diseases, and make them hard to diagnose. Make it so the symptoms are hard to determine what you have, other then diseases which are easy to determine, such as cholera, or dysentery, make it so that you have to be sure you have the disease you're going to treat before popping some antibiotic pills. Make it so self diagnosis can kill you or save you. - Fix the zombies, if possible, and up the numbers, but make sure that you fix them so they are not just annoying little flies like they are now. Make the melee better, implement stealth, and up their damage and their numbers, but only after they are fixed. - Make it so that a lot of things can be done with groups, make it so other players can help you in times of need. Make it so if only one of your legs are broken, one or two of your friends can be your crutches, practically. Add crutches, too, allow players with broken legs to hobble around with the assistance of crutches. - Make it so medical treatment is hard to administer onto yourself. Add amputation, add infection (actual infections, not zombie disease or whatever), and force friends to consult Civil War medical techniques such as chopping off wounded limbs. Make gunshot wounds, slash wounds, and any open gash have a chance to be infected. Make it so that a shot to the arm can force you to be a one-armer. - Etc.- 136 replies

I like the way the Gas Mask looks and will wear it even more once we get some more duster-style coats and the AKM, so I can yell at people from afar, "Get out of here Stalker," though I'd probably need a balaclava to fit the role.

That video he linked of yours was actually pretty good- The editing in the beginning was, well, not top notch, but the gameplay footage was fine, and the fact those guys didn't see you while you were in the bush is hilarious. Keep up the videos. -
We need good gore, so Berenzino and any upcoming hotspots can be stained with the blood of the slaughtered. Fresh spawn corpses will be so much creepier when their bodies are ripped apart from shotgun pellets, their blood staining the ground. I'd love to see blood, at the very least.

As long as it can be done without ruining presently stable framerates for people with outdated technology who are in a financial status that does not allow them to upgrade. If they update the game and force everyone to do this, this, and that, tons of people will no longer be able to run the game. That is plain silly, so they need to figure out a way to do these things without jeopardizing people's framerates... -
500 seconds is something when you just want to get into the game. ._. I hate this logic, I shouldn't be expected to alt tab and do something else or make a sandwich everytime I accidentally join a server and get kicked or something, I can see if I was joining 20 servers in a row and taking items from all of them, but when you're kicked off a server and you try to join another, that shouldn't provide a penalty.

Yet again... They can add graphical fidelity, yes, but they have to mantain the option for people to lower that fidelity. Just because people do not have supa computas doesn't mean they are blocked from improving the graphics of the game, they just have to make it so people can downgrade the graphics to where you currently can so that they can still run the game.., -

Can you not pull things out of your ass? Read my whole post, there are plenty of suggestions in there, and it is CLEAR for anyone to see that zombies are nowhere near finished in the game, and I was just pointing out this is probably due to the engine. Plus, I mean the RV engine, the one this game is being built on, the engine that they are modifying. I was not complaining, I was keeping on topic, you are the one causing issues by continuing to derail the discussion by pulling one single line of my awfully long post and using it to insult me and make even more /ignorant/ assumptions, by saying I haven't done this, and if I had, I would see this this and this, etc etc. Can /YOU/ get back on topic? If you're going to reply to one of my posts, by the way, acknowledge the whole thing instead of pulling one little fragment of it out. The RV engine was never built for zombies, can it be modified to work with zombies? SURE, my point is that I'd love it if they stopped working to make the engine support zeds so that we could have a more post apocalyptic title. God. -

The fact you are going to respond to my post like that is astounding. Surely you are mature enough to realize that outbursts of this sort don't help to get your point across... The engine this game runs on, I said, is currently a hot mess when it comes to melee and zombie AI. Do I hope it gets better? Yes. Do I think it will ever be as refined as I want it to be? No. Also, yes, I read a lot of things on the forum- You are making an /ignorant/ assumption, yet you are calling me /ignorant/? Surely most can understand the RV engine was never built for zombies or melee combat in the first place, it was built to be a military simulation. Can you implement these things? Yes, but it isn't going to be a polished as you want it to be. But, seriously, you really had to go full caps lock on me? -

I guess they could be considered a gimmick as (CURRENTLY) they barely add anything to the game, once they are polished enough (if they are polished) will be a threat and will actually add something to DayZ. -

I'd only support a zombie-less DayZ for a few reasons... Firstly, the engine is not built for such an enemy. Removing them would remove the need to fix the current clunk we see, and would allow the engine to /shine/. Of course, you would then need to somehow up the amount of players to make the game difficult if you don't encounter anyone, or add another threat. Zeds, right now, are just like flies that sometimes make you bleed- They are a minor nuisance. Personally, I don't see how the game will ever get away with this, as the engine was never built for melee or enemies using melee, so its going to require a lot of work. Personally, I'd love a more post apocalyptic setting for DayZ, but we would need some other things to make the game still dangerous. Perhaps make surviving a lot more difficult, by decreasing loot spawns, mainly of food and water, making rounds incredibly valuable, and making it so stuff like keeping warm and not catching deadly diseases are your priority? Perhaps you spawn with barely any clothes, perhaps a hospital gown like in Neo Scavenger, and clothes become valuable, as without them hypothermia is a ticking time bomb for you. Imagine your primary weapon being a crowbar, and imagine your rounds being saved for better things. I'd love that. -

DayZ is the game that /DOESN'T/ piss me off when I die. I sort of just sit there, shrug, and respawn. Glitches through wall, falls to death, who cares? But hackers are incredibly annoying. It defeats the purpose of the game, really, and is something I just don't understand.
