And so, if you log out one night, under a tree, and then log back in the next day, at a random point, 50m away from where you logged out, and get owned by a sniper / zombies, you're saying you won't come back here and complain, that you didn't log back in where you logged out? /edit Or maybe the player logging back in isn't allowed to spawn at all? Or should you spawn them back at the coast? Here's a better idea.. log out, and in, in sensible places that have a low chance of dropping ontop of someones head. If you can fuck that up, then you deserve to be shot.

Oh Jesus H Christ.. really? You where hanging about in, not just ANY of the airfields, but the NW one? And you didn't expect to encounter a single person? No matter where they logged in from? How do you know they where server hopping? Did you see them drop from another server to appear at yours? Maybe they where as dumb as you, and logged off 12 hours ago, and that was them reconnecting? Every game, even finished standalone products, have mechanics that can be metagamed.. Yes, rules and features can be put into place to limit it, but don't expect it in an ALPHA, and don't expect people to give you any sympathy for standing around on *the* most contested bit of real-estate on the map.. I'm not even going to start with your flawed product argument and courtroom shite, because you didn't buy any product that rocket or the dayz team made. Again, I think you need to find a dictionary, or a clue, and work out what 'product' you are talking about.. and you're right about the internet.. I'm posting this to a retard right now...

There's an ArmA2 bug that can cause a forest fire effect over a large area, if a vehicle is destroyed.. think there's a pic of it on these forums somewhere.. relogging should clear it.

I might be wrong, but aren't satchel charges hacked items? If so, I'd just avoid that server..

Six launcher will get confused with so many updates in a short space of time, from different sources.. You should really learn how to launch from a proper arma launcher, and do manual updates (they don't always work either, but at least you will know what to roll back).. Check this yt vid out.. it's outdated, but it will point you in the direction of everything you need...

Go to your arma AO dir, then to the 'expansion' dir.. Delete the contents of the 'beta' directory. Then run the uninstall of BE exe from the battleye directory. download and run the beta that you want. then download the .dll files (server + client) of the BE version that you need from here http://www.battleye.com/download.html and put them in the battleye dir.. Pay very close attention to the versions that you d/l..

If you get into a game, and have no sound, or debug window, then you and server are running different versions.. please see above for my rant about admins not updating their server descriptions..

If you need to downgrade a beta install, just delete the contents of the beta dir, and then install the one you want.. but for the latest betas 94945+, you will also need to delete your BE install, and manually install the previous version (both older and current are on the same page posted in the OP). People complain that they can't run a server like they want to. People complain that they can't make server settings to their own choosing.. THIS IS WHY ALL SERVER ADMINS SHOULD BE UP TO DATE.... if you're running a server, you're doing it to facilitate testing, not your own clans playground. Once the code is stable, and out of BETA.. and remembering that this is ALPHA, then there should be not be a reason to not have different flavours of dayz game servers.. but until then, bug finding and patching would go a hell of a lot easier if all servers just upgraded as soon as they can, regardless of what that servers playerbase wants.. Oh, and if you are a server admin, and you update your server, for the love of god, please update your server description, so that you don't cause 1000's of reconnects and hammering the hive, becasue the server version and description don't match.. and yes, I'm even talking about something as simple as GMT offset and CH:0/1 /rant **and breath....

Installing the current beta 94945, will cause you to be kicked by battleye errors, or hang at wait for host.. Revert to the previous beta.

As above. Build 1723 Beta patch to 94945 Was online earlier on the 14/07/12, playing fine on 1723 servers, upgraded to 94945 beta patch. Now I either get stuck at 'wait for host', or just get booted back to server list, with 'Battleye int. failed' This includes servers that have upgraded to the 94945 beta.

The betas *should* be backwardly compataible, and the error given is a Battleye one, so I'm fairly sure that a downgrade would work, I just can't be bothered to re-install everything that might be fixed in the morning.. If it's not I'll downgrade, for now just a heads up to anyone thinking about the new beta.. damn my eagerness....

There is no offical single player aspect, so any 'bricking' would be to it not being supported or updated. (some people might start a new scenario and see if that helps tho).

There are go.. fixed that for ya.. Don't play it like a game, play it like it's *really* you in the middle of a field, with no weapons, trying to get into that barn, surrounded by zombies.

I have the BE failed and boot to server list, just after installing the 94945 beta, and connecting to servers running that beta.. was fine earlier today, before I installed the current beta.. but I think the problem is battleye, as it's error is the last thing I see before getting disconnected.
