There's been a lot of discussion about killing people on sight, and removing incentives to do so. This usually is focused on the aggressor and not the "victim". It think it boils down to this: At present there literally is no incentive not to defend yourself if you get attacked. Sure we've all seen the awesome videos of people being robbed without getting murdered, and that is all well and good. But consider this. When you've been robbed, you'll in 99% of situations be worse off than you were when you spawned. A robber will take all your good stuff, possibly some of your blood. You'd literally be starting from scratch, but with less health. There is no reason not to just want to respawn. Meaning there is no reason not to take the fight directly to the guy trying to hold you up, regardless of how slim your chances. Personally I find it much easier and faster to acquire decent gear than recover lost health. So I'd take a death and being robbed over being robbed and living any day. This is a bit sad and I'm not entirely sure how to give people more incentive not to want to start over with full health. Since everyone starts at the coast, washed up I assume, some sort of hypothermia that takes a while to get rid of? Having your character cough and alert zombies and players for the first few minutes of the game might make people think twice before just wanting to respawn on full health. I dunno. ´ _ ,
