This is just like saying a firearm is what kills people, or a fork makes people fat.

LOL. I know right. Same with the firearms, why are they just laying around the barracks, I would be fairly certain they count the rifles after they fire them at a range. I would love to see the unused military building be turned into an armory, with like, a huge chain around the door and everything, you'd have to have bolt cutters or maybe liquid nitrogen spray to get in there. I can only dream.

I'm fairly certain that military isn't going to keep one magazine of ammunition in their bases. I myself have thousands of rounds and dozens of magazines for my firearms, and I'm not even military or police. And for that matter, ammo isn't as common as you think, every time I have been through a military base I am lucky to just find an empty FNX mag.

U.K. assault vests are present in game, meaning that the U.K. probably had some form of role in the quarantine efforts. Rem 700 would probably be used by NATO or U.K. forces.

I have noticed that bandits actually prefer gas masks and camo, rather than the masks laying around. This actually makes me sad, seeing as gas masks and green clothing I prefer.. I'm not a bandit, but everyone I have ran into with this type of gear seems to be. If you'll excuse me, I am going to go cry now.

Lately, I have noticed that the argument of "This is not a Zombie MilSim, it is a survival MilSim, why do you need an AS50 Rifle? OR a D.M.R. Most civilians would not know how to operate a firearm anyway." While this IS true, you do need knowledge on how to operate a piece of equipment like an anti material rifle, as well as any firearm. But to remove them completely from the game is just ABSURD. The military would still have these types of things, not just laying around, but they would still have them. As I know it is in Alpha, I'm not complaining about the game itself, but rather why remove these types of weapons? Why not just make them EXTREMELY rare? The Arma DayZ mod DMR looks identical to my 30-6 Hunting rifle. A very common firearm owned by many. On the topic of other weapons, the AR-15, is actually very common 'hunting rifle'. Some would say this is an assault weapon, as it is not, an assault weapon is a fully automatic rifle. (Let's not get into politics here, lol.) My argument may have gone way off track, but the point is, sniper rifles and military grade weaponry would not be common, should only be found in military bases, ect. They should be rare, and hard to get, but not removed from the game. Perhaps make the bases harder to get into? Rather than have a huge, gaping hole where a cement wall should be? The main gates should have to be locked and perhaps a cut open with another tool? Perhaps even add an armory, as on military bases, weapons are not usually carried in barracks, but put away and counted every day. (In Alpha, I know, just trying to provide a topic to debate about, so please don't flame me.) All I was saying, is I have seen people complaining about sniper rifles and what not, and not wanting them. The average citizen is usually a hunter, or has hunted before.

Guys, guys, how about instead of arguing that your character would never be a pilot in the population of 1% of the world, why not put some sort of 'trainers' inside strongholds and survivor camps that can teach you how to operate a helicopter or plane. Or put in flight manuals and such.

Problem is, I like to keep a full inventory in case I run across some survivors in need of food or water.

In my opinion, I prefer the black rifles over the traditional wooden body ones, my hunting rifle IRL is black, but it's 30-6. For some reason the black body is more attractive to me, that said.. Give meh that kinda sniper! And a buddy as well, I just want to sit on a hill and OBSERVE, not KILL players.. F**king KoS players. -.-

Was Chernaus the start of the outbreak? If it was, there may be some sort of jointed relief effort, but a place holder could be the reason. Definitely would be different, I believe Soviet states had strict gun control, but civilians may have been able to carry firearms like small pistols, hunting rifles, and shotguns. An M40 could be used as a hunting rifle, not exactly sure how that would stand in Chernaus as it chambers a 7.62x51mm rounds. (Is that the same as the Mosin?)

Ah, yes, post soviet state. But doesn't the tactical shirt sport a U.S. flag on the arm? Could be wrong. Not sure though. Maybe I'm over analyzing things. xD

The problem with civilian firearms is that what most people think of military firearms, are actual civilian firearms. AR-15's, .45 pistols, glocks, and now hunting rifles are used by military as well, like the M40.
