There is no B or C vote when you join a server. So not really.

1% sample size for a 1 million population would actually be very significant statistically (99+% confidence interval and 1% margin of error), so long as that's a random selection. But I'm really not expecting 10,000 votes. If it manages to make it to about 400 votes then we get 95% confidence and 5% margin of error which might be attainable and is still incredibly meaningful data.

I'd say render distance might be maybe 15m for me or something...have to go about halfway into the hangars and then zoom to see the items at the back

Fair point, reworded the poll with 'ability to see around cover' instead of 'exploit' not sure if it changes much but it's done.

You can freelook behind you in 1PP...so it sucks to wear a mountain backpack if you do, no such disadvantage for the 3PP players at the moment. Peripheral vision is more or less identical since fov is the same for each - the only difference is for 1-2m either side of your character. If someone's snuck up that close to you, 1/3PP is the least of your worries. The only other awareness problem imo is sound design, that should be fixed for 3PP and 1PP cuz it's still in alpha state at teh moment, much like the viewing mechanics/game design and the rest of the game. Saying that 3PP works as it is because 'game design' when we're still in the alpha stage sounds very premature to me. As already discussed, separating the playerbase isn't a good solution (balancing for pve/separating friends with different preferences)

Heh it's fine, I personally can understand the issues people have with the 4th wall, because it's just a mod of a mod demonstration. I do believe that implemented differently using fog of war or a coloured overlay to clearly show what is and isn't directly visible might improve it. Failing that then a much tighter camera angle would ameliorate the issues a lot as well.

The main issues for 1PP are all solvable problems and indeed should be solved at the same time as they're solved for 3PP (sound design, framerate, mouse acceleration, wall clipping). But thanks for responding :)

Too late sorry! But also that misses out the portion of players that like 3PP but don't like the exploit, which was a fault of all the previous polls I saw on the matter - so far about a third of the playerbase isn't diehard 1 or 3PP and just wants it balanced so that they can play together (early days, only 20 votes so far)

I'd play 3PP fixed from the 1PP perspective if that was the case, no need for separate 1PP/3PP fixed because there'd be no advantage to either, just leave the exploiters to have their own hive.

Separate servers and hives doesn't fix the problem, just sidelines it and raises other issues (pve balancing, playing with friends that are unable to play 1PP cuz of motion sickness etc). It's ok, Rocket was looking at the different camera angles option last I heard, maybe he's trolling too :)

Not really, it affects balancing, divides the playerbase and results in unhappy 3PP players that want it fixed and unhappy 1PP players that have friends with motion sickness - see the original discussion.

I just think it would counter the people that are saying 1PP servers are empty, therefore the exploit is fine. From this thread I've seen plenty of people say things like - 'Hmm nice to think about, I'll give 1PP a go' or - 'I don't like 1PP, but this exploit seems like it is affecting the game in a negative way' and only a handful saying - 'This is how I play, don't remove my ESP' Then from the last poll I saw, about a third of the playerbase is 1PP only already - so I think it might solve the popularity/elitism argument to actually get some valid numbers from the forum base as to who thinks it's an exploit and who thinks it's a valid part of the game. If you'd actually read my opinions, you'd know that I play 1PP purely because of the exploit - I'm in agreement with use of 3PP for certain uses (checking background for camoflage, checking where a wound is located to determine the direction of incoming fire, using it for a higher view when looking over panoramas). So I'd be in option B of my poll. Nice attempt to change the subject, I guess you have option D for yourself, would be interesting to see how other people go on the matter.

And round and round we go... this needs proper poll of opinions to end the drama, not someone relying on pvp-centric points of view or elitism over which pov is better or worse. I play 1PP and will never use 3PP. I play 1PP but would use 3PP if the exploit was fixed. I play 3PP and want the exploit fixed. I play 3PP and think it should stay as it is. Anything else people want in there before I make it?

You should tell your friend the truth. We want to fix 3PP not remove it...its in the thread title. And pretty much every single one of the last 25 pages. But your story is good other than that.
