Battleye... I'm thinking it's not good
Bakercompany86 replied to InvisiMan2013's topic in General Discussion
Yeah sounds like you were shot by a silenced M4 from someone with an elevation advantage. Seems legit to me. -
Never messed with Hybrid, but I love my SSD. Everything loads super fast, PC boots in 35 seconds. It's wonderful. Sort of irrelevant towards gaming though. You'll just load your game faster initially.

What can be made into Rags should be fixed because of the Zeds' infinite bleeding damage hit super power
Bakercompany86 replied to hannibaldaplaya's topic in General Discussion
I agree with using a knife to tear jeans/pants into rags potentially. I don't see how a raincoat would ever be a suitable rag. The material is just all wrong for it. -
First response to that thread for the win.... made me lol :D I definitely want the dev team to take a few hundred of that awesome earning to go out and have some beers. I for one am very much enjoying the game even in it's present state (call me a fanboy, you'd be right, except it's fanman). Also....who is Terrorviktor? I keep seeing you pop up on threads posting in context that would make me think you're a developer...but you carry no forum status stating this. Por que no?

Yeah.... The thing is OP, we don't know if they are or are not hiring new coders at the moment. We're not and should not be privy to their hiring practices. The total revenue they've generated is $24,699,270 (ish). 823,329 alpha copies sold so far. Lets say Steam takes 30% of this (rough guess). That leaves $17,289,489. Pretty good chunk of change I'd say. We don't know how much BI is keeping for their coffers. But I'd say plenty of that is probably going to be put towards the development of the game, be it new developers or what have you. Basically, don't jump to conclusions. I'm sure they want more people to work on debugging. The community has reported thousands of bugs, I bet they don't want 5 guys working on that. But we may never know, just have faith.

Dental Hygiene (Not as bad as you think)

Could you imagine our breath after eating nothing but beans, tuna, and sardines for days? Wow....could probably stop a freight train! -
Please for the love of god don't add "Sanity."
Bakercompany86 replied to SalamanderAnder (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
2 things. 1. The people who makes those posts don't use the search functions. Which is why we're called upon over and over to keep telling them why that's a bad idea and against the DayZ principle. 2. Players who are shot on sight want an easy solution, basically "punish the badguys". It's sad really, and I hate to say but a clear example of "learn to play better". -
What Guns do YOU want to see?
Bakercompany86 replied to camwhyy (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
That will turn DayZ into Battlefield 3.... -
LMFAO!! And to the OP....NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't care if they have private servers. But I also want their characters to remain on their private servers. If you come to public, you start over. Plain and simple. People can lock their private servers so only they can log on and loot, without worrying about players. Then bring that geared player into the real world with us? No thanks.

What Guns do YOU want to see?
Bakercompany86 replied to camwhyy (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Agreed. It makes more sense that someone wouldn't try to cart out 4 rifles with them, but they'd certainly take as much ammo as they could carry. -
What Guns do YOU want to see?
Bakercompany86 replied to camwhyy (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Just more civilian firearms in general. Less full auto spray-n-pray weaponry. Things you would realistically find in this area. So not really a Desert Eagle of any sort, too expensive and the military doesn't use them. Sig P226 Glocks WWI and WWII 1911s Variety of bolt-action weaponry (common on farms). Semi-auto AK-47's (can't imagine there isn't still a ton of these around) I do NOT want to see things like: M249 Any form of .50 cal weapon anything full auto beyond standard military rifles, and police SMG's. And those should be ultra rare. But no reason you wouldn't find an occasional H&K MP5 (both variants) or a UMP45. I don't know how many would end up in Russia, but the M1 Garands are still around. I'd use the hell out of one of those :) -
Or better yet, if someone is killed by a zombie, they should eventually get up and start trying to eat you :) That's one way to diagnose cause of death! Otherwise yeah, would love to be able to figure out what killed someone. Finding a dead body in a town can be unnerving.

What is the Point of the In game Map Now?
Bakercompany86 replied to dobrowney's topic in General Discussion
Rangefinding and seeing who's on the server (unless there is another way to do that I'm unaware of). -
First, love the avatar pic :) I wouldn't say "abysmal". But most things, animation and sound related, are placeholders in the game right now. Give them time. EDIT: Now they have enough funds to licence Havok, just sayin'.... ;)

The KOS conundrum, problem/solution.
Bakercompany86 replied to McBonkhead's topic in General Discussion
This is a solid point, and I want everyone who's sick of KoSing to take note. First off, the apocalypse itself at this stage would have caused everyone involved to go a little nuts anyway. You would see your heros, your hiders, your bandits, and your murderers. So we can assume the people who kill on sight are already a little nuts and that's why they're killing people. You can't tell me in all parts of the world that it wouldn't happen. Unless this was a Japanese city, maybe then you'd see everyone working together to build a new empire. But....it's RUSSIA of all places. Not the best track record for human welfare anyway. -
Reality Virtual Engine-Bad for DayZ
Bakercompany86 replied to Devinnspell's topic in General Discussion
The keyword here is optimization. There are definitely issues with renders, like a potential memory leak from the new .357 spawns. I imagine that's on the to do list. As far as a physics engine goes, don't most games end up using Havok anyway? I want to say like 90% of the games with physics in them that I've played use the Havok physics engine attached to their own. I definitely would like to see physics for player/zombie bodies and loot after being picked up. Like dropping a can down a flight of stairs for example. -
Is the map and compass to clunky?
Bakercompany86 replied to Serious Stan's topic in General Discussion
Both work fine for me. Love the compass. I just want the responsiveness of the hotbar fixed/adjusted. Sometimes I have to press the key 3-4 times to bring up the item. I'd love to see this smoothed out so a keypress is guaranteed to equip your compass (or pistol). -
20 Plus Million Dollars Later...
Bakercompany86 replied to Hero of Suburbia's topic in General Discussion
Patch notes is all we need to know. Anything else will just cause the community to bitch more. These guys are the professional developers, not us. Thus, they know what's best and what needs to be addressed first. Such as stability issues. And if I had to guess, with that new budget they most likely have they will hire additional coders. Which takes time, but will help the process in the long run. We're not even a month into the SA EA Alpha release are we? They've already patched the hell out of this game and addressed hundreds of bugs (and probably even more we didn't know about). Just give them time. This game is a cash cow, they'll want to feed her. -
DayZ is NOT fun for new players, which makes me worried.
Bakercompany86 replied to Murakamo's topic in General Discussion
Don't care who you are, THIS is some funny shit right here :) -
The KOS conundrum, problem/solution.
Bakercompany86 replied to McBonkhead's topic in General Discussion
No no no no no no no! I'm a completely new player to DayZ. Didn't play the mod. And I think punishing anyone for their playstyle is ridiculous. If you're tired of being killed on sight, you need to become a better player. I try to always be as sneaky as possible, and watch out for other players. If they are armed and get the drop on me, I run. If not, then I'm in control of the situation. -
DayZ is NOT fun for new players, which makes me worried.
Bakercompany86 replied to Murakamo's topic in General Discussion
I didn't play the mod. Heard about it, did my research and decided to wait for the standalone. Thus far I'm having a blast. My other buddies who are also new are too. We've met up, which was an adventure in itself. DayZ is not a game for everyone. Only those who truly appreciate the hardcore nature of DayZ will play it for a long time. But it's the game I've been looking for my entire life. I love it :)- 189 replies

Yeah my gameplay last night was excellent... Like any AAA titles as far as framerate and things working correctly. Very smooth indeed. Not sure if coincidence, or there was a change. Either way I'm happy. Plus it was one of those nights when loot is spot on. Everything I was looking for I found.

I can't stand this any longer.
Bakercompany86 replied to PastorPounder's topic in General Discussion
Not if people would quit bitching and start bug reporting instead. Have you even visited the bug tracker to see how many bugs they've already addressed? Then you should know how long it takes to code something, and how it takes even longer to work the bugs out.
