  1. I'm sure he limits his cheating to rust and only rust, you make a good point.
  2. Broke my legs and after an hour and a bit of my friends trying to find stuff got nowhere. Logged onto their teamspeak server and was soon told by Reace he was on his way from Balota (I was in Berezino!). Legs fixed now, thanks alot guys! Great service to the DayZ community. Splitter
  3. On a side note, can broken legs be healed this way or do they always need a splint/morphene?
  4. Does anyone have a good way of estimating distances in game with the naked eye? I truly have no idea how to judge how far away someone is. For the record I have my FOV set right in the middle of the slider bar. Does anyone perhaps have some pictures illustrating different distances? Thanks Splitter

How do you feel about melee combat?

Don't use the crosshair as an impact point for the axe. Pay attention to where the head of the axe actually goes. Once you know, you'll one hit zombies (or players B) ) with ease.

    What is with fall damage?

I've died from running downstairs. Hopefully its on the dev teams to do list.

    What to carry?

Go over to Elektro and say hello to the locals, I find that normally frees up a few inventory spots.

    I have just met players

First person I bumped into I said hi to over voice and proceeded to follow. Wouldn't be doing that these days. However, he was friendly and we went off together to raid a small military base up north. He was a vet from the mod and we were getting on great till we came across a couple zombies. He took the first one out with his axe so I said I'd take care of the second with my baseball bat. Big mistake.....zombie knocks me down and kills me. Never saw him again :( . Second guy stuck his axe through my face as soon as I said Hi.

    Blood Bags/Saline

Another way of attempting to balance this would be to make saline bags very rare. Or even better make it so blood bags give you a lot more of a boost than saline bags. There should be some benefit to going through all the blood testing and acquiring the blood.

    Blood Bags/Saline

Just my 2 cents: 1. The saline should be temporary and separate to blood. If you lost say 3000 blood and were left with 2000 the saline would top you up to 5000 total. However, the 3000 from saline would degrade over time and reduce your total blood (say by 1000 an hour). You should also get the low blood effects if only 2000/5000 of that blood is true blood. So a saline bag might wake you up from unconsciousness but the screen will be black and white and blurry till you either get a transfusion or regenerate enough blood. 2. Temporary effects of saline. Have it drain out at about 1000 units an hour to put a bit of time pressure on people to get a transfusion. This system with blood types has a lot of potential but needs balancing with the saline. If saline does the same job as blood its basically a semi-complex but pointless system with very limited uses. The units above are all arbitrary, I don't know true values.
  11. Understand why people might want this. I like the idea of people having to select the right gun for the situation. But this game is clunky and this will make it worse.
  12. Absolutely don't think you should spawn with a melee weapon. I do think weapons should be a bit more specialised though. At the moment there is no benefit to using anything other than a fireaxe. Some suggestions might be Baseball bat - good at breaking bones. fire extinguisher - short range but good at knocking out fire axe - pretty good at knocking out, causes lots of bleeding. knives - bleeding I know this is more PVP interactions this would apply to but right now its just fireaxe or nothing.
  13. I agree that there should be some inherent value to your character's life outside of gear alone. Right now there is no incentive not to just get kitted out and go and cause trouble (after all who else you going to use those guns on?). I would like to see: Visible character progression based on time (love the beard/braids idea). I read somewhere bandits would have a heartbeat assigned to them when you look at them. Not 100% realistic but have it so that a persons heartbeat lowers for killing a bandit and rises by twice as much for killing an innocent. This will make it easier to know who you can potentially trust. Couple this with the visible beard/braids and you know that someone with a long beard and low heartbeat would be more trustworthy than a new spawn with low heartbeat. Over time character progression. Perhaps an increase in total blood? Less shock from damage? Burn less energy sprinting? Over time item use progression. Bandaged alot of people? You do it faster. I know it might encourage farming but make it so if you bandage the same person within 20 minutes you no longer get extra experience and it resets the timer. Vanity items that become available after certain lengths of time. A medic can obviously have a redcross vanity item. Not sure how this would work for mechanics or cooks etc though. Certain rewards for killing alot of zombies. Right now zombies are just a nuisance. Even when there are more zombies they will still be a nuisance. There should be a reward for doing some PVE. A global wanted list. No actual numbers but a top ten bandit list (I know this might be a bad idea and increase people acting like arses). But make it so that people can see if the bandits on the top 10 are online and being able to join their servers. Make the hunters the hunted. This is just a brainfart list of suggestions and I'm sure not all are everyones cup of tea. But they're there as ideas. As I see it we need to make the character's life, separate from their gear, mean something.
