There are 4 days left in January.  Can we expect the roadmap by Friday or not?

Yesterday I created a reddit post with this same question - it was immediately deleted by moderators (it might have been a bug though, I'm implying nothing 🙂 )

Now now dont get ya panties in a twist mate, Im in this fuckin conversation cos I wont just be in a fucking private server all the time, Thank you kindly for your concerns, I do play public, when I want to. I care about it cos that what being part of a community is all about, in case you didnt know or you walked out of that subject in school, if indeed you have even left it yet with that attitude your clearly not attributing anything constructive out of your posts. I love the darkness, enjoy the rain never abused "hopping" to get into someones base, Just for your information I spent my first 2000hrs playing in mostly public servers, I have over 3000hrs+ now go figure, I put this game to its paces that Im sure of, navigating night via stars before they went all wac, keeping under trees best I could whilst raining and on the move you really have no idea about how much I have played the survival part let alone theres now mostly pvp adrenaline junkies playin just gettin their daily few hrs fix, which is what I think this system was designed to accommodate, The real question is why the eff in Chernarus are you here for, to try munch my ass at every post like a hungry mutt?,  Good luck with that and please dont quit your lovely concerns, we need that in the community. 👌👍

Well there ya go mate. Sounds like you're a seasoned player, and I just don't get why are you against this solution at all since it shouldn't bother you in the slightest. I myself can navigate even without a stars in a pitch black night from let's say Shakhovka to Cherno no fuss no muss. And it doesn't bother me at all to be teleported to a shore if I changed servers. The server I ususally play on was unavailable for a couple of days after the patch, so I went to another one and got spawned near Balota and it didn't bother me at all. On the contrary - I now have a cool stash with a lot of shit not on one but two servers. What's bad about it?

You're missing the point.  Sure, I can get to Tisy from the coast in less than 2 hours -- the point is after looting Tisy, I want to continue exploring/looting other areas FROM TISY and not start over on the coast again.

With this new system in place, it's a roll of the dice basically every single second.  At any time, the server might go down and if it doesn't come back up, I'm forced to switch to another server to continue playing and it's bye-bye wherever I was before.

Another example is logging out somewhere for the night, but the next day when I want to continue, that server has a massive queue, yet another one that also has good ping for me is only Medium pop and has no queue, but again, if I join that one, I ain't gonna be where I was before, am I?  I'm sorry, but trying to persuade people to stay on a specific server is not a good solution to this issue.

Look, this game is a roll of the dice basically every single second with or without this system implemented. At any time I can hop out of the nearest bush and blow your head off and force you to start from the shore having nothing but flare and dick in your hand. Why aren't you playing on a public server with a mind set to a simple thought that you just cannot change servers, as you cannot change them while playing on private ones, and if you do still trying to change a server you're starting from scratch but also having a little bonus - all the shit that you had on you stays on you. Isn't this wonderful?

Just so you know, I and a lot of others dont play on public hives anymore because of a infestation of hackers/glitchers etc.. from .62 onwards I played a few test servers and some EXP but thats about it, also judgemental assumptions fall on deaf ears, All this salt production? if there is really so much salt (feeling extra sweet myself) then start tanning business or a production line, I only used to "hop" servers when there either was nobody on it and I wanted some lone wolf aspects or when ones were full and I wanted some quick action/interaction. I take it you never read mine or the other the posts above yours before you made such comments? If you did.. great!, if not,.. Take a L(.)(.)K.

Well, that's another thing - it seems that almost everybody who's having an issue with this solution are also saying "i actually don't play on public servers anymore, because this, this and this". Why tha fuck do u even care about it at all then? This issue does not concern you in the slightest, since you are forced to play on a single server and all those possible reasons for changing the server aren't applicable to you anyway. Since you are forced to either wait some time or start from scratch on another server if the one that you were playing on is down/raining/having night. Why are you even have this conversation at all? Why aren't you playing on a public server with a mind set to a simple thought that you just cannot change servers, as you cannot change them while playing on private ones, and if you do still trying to change a server you're starting from scratch but also having a little bonus - all the shit that you had on you stays on you. Isn't this wonderful?

  5. Didn't think that this elegant and simple solution for server hopping would make so many people to produce so much salt. So much salt from people used to hop from server to server when even a slightest inconvenience occurs, instead of playing a SURVIVAL game trying to overcome difficulties. And it's the same people who were crying out loud that "we need a solution to serverhopping ASAP because bastards stole all my shit from my base!!1!!!11!". Jeez.

It's a fuckup.  If a player has only a couple hours to play in a day, the chance of them making it to Tisy over the course of a week, by carefully progressing through the map, has just been arbitrarily ripped away from them.

It'd be much nicer if they made a new set of a couple hundred spawn points scattered around the map, and simply chose one that met the following conditions: Not inside a military base, not within 200 meters of any player-built wall structures, not more than 2km from logout point, not within 200 meters of another player, not within 500 meters of wolves.

Err... what? 2 hours is enough for player to go from freshspawn to Tisy and get back to the spawn point. I really wonder how do you play this game if playing for a week two hours a day isn't enough for you to get to Tisy.

  7. I don't get it, what is even the point of experimental patches if everything that is obviously broken in them goes to stable and poisoning everyones experience? Who's rushing you? Have you finally got some sort of an internal roadmap with some deadlines or what?

-Hey devs! Your game is broken in experimental - everyones got a server list screen during gameplay. Not counting everything else that is broken, like, for example hotbar keys not working in inventory screen again.
-No worries, mate, we fixed it and gonna push this fixed version on stable in a couple of hours without even bothering to check it out on experimental first. That's the way we're rollin', fuck yeah!

    What a load of bullshit.

  8. I didn't get it - you said Experimental and Stress Test Branches should not see much use for the rest of the year, but today you hit experimental, and tomorrow you'll hit stable. Does it mean that it is going to be the same version of the game on experimental and on stable? And does it mean that all patches that are going to happen (if they are going to happen) until the rest of the year are going straight to stable?

  9. Opinions. They're like buttholes - evebody has one. So here's mine.

All this shitstorm was not a surprise for me as wasn't a surprise what led to that shitstorm. I guess I knew that it would be exactly like that, like, a year ago. Ofcourse I was hoping that its gonna take less time, ofcourse it is frustrating to wait for so long and get another delay of something you thought is right behind the corner.

But as I said - it wasn't as unexpected for me as it seemingly was for many others. And I'll tell you why. It's really simple - right from the get go, from the times, when vast majority of today's disgruntled customers weren't even born, Bohemia Interactive was doing things exactly like that - within time their every game was an absolutely different one than it was at release. So every goddamn title that they ever published went the same way - some arbitrary line is drawn and called 1.0. Then, years past, after numerous patches, enhancements and addons (majority of which are free, btw) we're having an excellent game, unlike any other. Operation Flashpoint v1.0 is nothing like it was three or four years later at v1.96. Arma 2 v1.68 is a completely different game than Arma 2 v1.0. One thing - this "1.0-line" is usually a buggy, god-awful, unplayable mess. My Arma 2 1.0 memories are still waking me up at nights =)).

Things really changed with the release of Arma 3 - it was the same shitstorm drama, btw. People was bitching and moaning about too little content in the game, about absent campaign, about stuff that was promised and then said to be unviable, about everything. But at the same time everybody was agreeing on one thing - this is the most stable, playable and bugfree release of all time for Bohemia. And look where it lead 5 years later - we have a colossal thing, a combat simulator like no other, one of the most popular PC games STILL, FIVE FUCKING YEARS LATER, tens of thousands of players everyday, its still in Steam's top 30! And its nothing like it was when it hit 1.0 mark. Its a completely different, much bigger, much better thing.

And, again, Bohemia Interactive goes the same way, that already showed itself as a succesfull one. And, again, we'll just have to wait longer than we, players, or, I assure you, anybody else (like, developers, for example) wanted. I hope (and not without a good reason) that this game is gonna be great, preferably sooner than later =).

    I'm finished.

  10. And there I was thinking "Another couple of kilometres and I'm gonna get me some cool boom-sticks at the northern military base". Welp... man proposes, God disposes.

    Achtung!! Parental advisory, explicit language!!

I was able to change controls fine earlier today on experimental . When changing them note that the menus themselves have changed , requiring more “apply” and “ok” than ever before ... check carefully if you are actually pressing those buttons to exit the menus otherwise the changes won’t stick .

Have you tried to reassign stand up/crouch/prone controls? Have you tried to assign toggle raise weapon?

  12. About human centipede sounds:

Having the same thing - sounds like Benny Hill Show =)). Heard that, trew away my trusty M4 a couple of times for no reason and decided to wait for next stable =)). Especially after zed, whom I tried to kill by freshly found Longhorn from like 500 metres away (missed of course), flung himself to me only to run past me in to the woods a minute later =))).

P.S. Forums are working strange - I cannot quote no one and cannot paste previously copied text in to the post editor, while it is pasted fine in to the Notepad.
