There are too many clones, yes, but the community matters as well and Rocket being a vissionary, this project won't burn out, not to soon i hope :) DayZ is an Alpha, but i played Rust, few other, there is no comparison in the depth, potential, modding and stability (despite being buggy). The only thing that puts me off here are player killers that kill on sight, no safe zones for newbies. Maybe a tutorial server would be nice solution to start with. I play games since i started building 286s, long time lol, i had many dissapointments in funding games in Alpha, many, i believe this one will become a pearl :) -

When i was in college, once, all services were cancelled due heavy fog. My friends lift me home, basically, one had to walk by the car, so we stay on the road. But average visibility in the UK when foggy is around 10 meters.

Hi all, i havent found previous posts about this, using forum search. Will there be implemented thick fog, making impossible to see in 6-8 feet, silencing all noises and movements? Currently people complaint about snipping KoSers, sitting far away in the bushes or grass, in the for, rain, visibility should be so decresed, that it makes impossible to spot someone till you stand on him. In the sunny day, warmed up air, makes mirages, images displaced by an angle and space, like a mirror. Echoes in the valleys, or forrests, making careless players easier to hear. Also, i think the current graphics settings, that allowing for a better visibility manipulation, should be adjusted or switched off, for a better in game realism.

There is no good without evil, imagine there are safe zones, like barter towns from Mad Max, remember, how many twisted minded people love to kill in this game, that would be Hunting Games for all of them, camping on outskirts, waiting for easy kill. Servers are limited to 30-40 playes, i think that the servers should host at least 200 players, its nothing on a map this size. Rocket already said, this is Alpha and abundance of weapons will be adjusted down, more zombies, more powerfull. People that would like to cooperate together and explore the map, gater resources or venture into military bases, would have to or could allways find a partner for safer trip. This would also work in the other way, bandits could take an area or zone and extort it, but again, this should be zombie apocalypse pvp game (work in progress) Food, right, i remember, as a kid, empty shelves at the supermarkets, because there was nothing to buy, martial law, i was 5. Finding cans of food in game is ridiculously easy at the moment, also, warsaw pact food rations were standardised, 0.5 kg and 1kg big, yellow or silver painted canned food, with a key-opener soldered to the bottom :). Minced salted pork ham, thick caseroles, bread, stodge, butter, dad allways brought something back from military reserve training. So, for all you people, that take fun in killing othe players, how you gonna survive as the last man on earth? -

Very much so, but if game takes place in former Soviet territory, there should be more soviet weapons, believe or not, some grandads still keep stashed away their weapons after the previous two world wars :) -

I think there should be much, much, more less military grade weapons and gear available for a looter, increase hunting and fishing gear instead. Give the weapons dirt and damage failure, making you to clean or polish the bolt, barrel, replace springs, basically, to fix it. Small firearms should be dropped by some zombies too, in a state of disrepair, by former police, military, making the game a real survival game, not an online duck shooting feast. Just a thought -

Or simply if you server hopp, spawn away from your location, not the same place or even random. As a noob, i liked server hopping (first time ever played DayZ) but seeing how badly it is abused, i agree, something has to be done. -

Because for him it's not a game, he identyfies himself with the character. For children aged 5 being killed or being forced to kill someone can lead to trauma and later in life mental problems. You should be old enough to understad it unless you are lacking certain skills as a parent, Sir! -

DayZ SHOULDN'T BE ALL ABOUT PvP! I totally agree, this is a Slavic nature, don't kill, To many youngsters or mentally twisted people just kill your in game avatar, because then can. The game mechanic should introduce black marks for every kill a player makes, thus when loging to the server, you can see the KoSer lurking for a prey. I am a big fan of stalker, so i played Rust as well, everywhere is a game console mentality, gear up, kill. There is not a single one game or simulation allowing a human cooperation mode, to rebuild the lost world. Or humanity died out among the modern people of the world. -

Now this is shite, i have noticed the benefits of server hopping for a noob like me, cannot find decent equipment here, maybe it will be there, loged, got shot instantly, and using apparently non PVP server, set up for people who just want to familiarise withthe game (awesome, despite the bugs). I think that this server hoping will be or should be disabled as it is abused, as in your case, or people from PVP servers are hopping to get geared up. In your case a really bad example of this feature and i can say, i feel your dissapointment... -
