I ran into a guy who had a rifle, but didn't shoot me in the face immediately. I was so confounded and frightened by this turn of events, I shot him in the throat and took his shit.

The current system is fine. If they shoot you in the face, it's a bandit. If they don't, it's a hero. ( Or a bandit with no gun. ) Anything added to the current system would be superfluous, and is unnecessary.

My girlfriend and I were searching the RTO building last night in a server with about ten people, looking for anything that had been overlooked by the coastal scavengers, when a fully kitted dude logged in beside us. Startled, we shot him. When she searched him- we found this. He had practically no food or water, just a 35 slot backpack full of 5.56, mags, ammo boxes, and M4 parts. Oh, and no pants. Which was...weird. In the ten minutes we stayed, six people logged in, just in that room. Four logged back out just as fast as they had appeared, one pulled a gun and was subsequently shot, and the sixth put his hands up, identified himself as friendly, and was rewarded with all the gear he could carry. I'm sure this is a known and well used tactic, but I'm not going to dart around in a futile search for resources anymore- I'm just going to bonk server hoppers for their loots, and spread the wealth with the less fortunate who happen to come a knockin'.

I don't see it as a problem. I'm still raking in the sweet, sweet server hopper loot. Got a guy logging into the elektro firehouse this morning. Almost 400 rounds of 7.62. Happy days.

TLDR: "I want to dictate how servers run without paying for the privilege to do so." Don't like the way servers are being run? Pay for your own and show us how it's done. Until then, stuff it. FYI, there are no "donor loadouts," or weather settings. Admins control time, resets, and kicks. That's it.

Doesn't offend me in the slightest. I'm playing the game as it is presented to me, in it's unfinished form. Do you log out far from anything to avoid the possibility of having an advantageous spawn on someone during your next log in? And I'm not suggesting you load into a hot zone by default- just that it would be better to find your ranges on a less populated server than popping off ranging rounds where they're likely to be heard.

Your prerogative. You could also take a few shots, make notes, and move on. Come back to the spot after a spell, and take it up again. You can scout multiple locations and acquire a lot of data in a short period of time, depending on how quickly you're willing to move. I'm not in the business of being sporting. Check out my sigged youtube videos. I like to hunt with bait. As Arthur Miller so artfully put it: "Never fight fair with a stranger, boy. You'll never get out of the jungle that way." If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck. Regardless, most of the time the spot I'd be observing from doesn't require infiltration. I'm talking about hill, bush, or other concealed- but out of the way spots.

Log into a lowly populated server. Find a spot. Pick out distant waypoints of equal intervals. Take a few ranging shots to acquire rough distances. Make note. Log out, and log back into a populated server.

Chillin'. Killin'.

I say "friendly" in hopes of distracting them while I line up the shot.

Yet another thread to answer the question nobody asked.

If I didn't have a gun, I'd axe on sight. It's just easier with the gun.

Last night, we had one of our group strip down to bambi attire and sent him out into Elektro. He encountered an armed group, befriended them, and brought them back to our ambush zone. We shot one right off the bat. Another booked, and the third tried to coordinate an attack with our undercover brother. They surrounded our base, and the guy started talking jive, telling us how they were going to come in and get us. Etc. etc. As they were about to breach, his new "friend" drew the FNX he'd been packing all along, and shot him in the back. We took his goodies, had a lulz, and used the scam on two more groups before I got bored and decided to watch cartoons. Video to follow. This is pretty simple to get around. Shoot people in the head, unless you're killing them for their sweet bobble hat. If I intend to loot a player, I always shoot for the head or legs. If I don't care, center mass. Not that "ruined" really seems to apply to anything at the moment..

I usually find them attached to a Mosin, being held by some dude, laying on a hill, watching a high traffic area- But not his six.

I have to say, emphatically.. You're doing it wrong. I've never been killed as a fresh spawn, and I only play in near to capacity servers, at peak hours. I also respawn quite a bit. You're either exaggerating to make your point seem more legit, or just terrible at survival. I'm thinking it's a little from column A, and a little from column B.

Initially, we didn't post up there with the intention of camping out - but after we dropped the first guy, his body acted like a salt lick. ( get it? Deer/Bambi etc) Now it's hard to walk away.

I prefer Elektro. At the church. It calls to me.
