You mean as hard as it was in the very early days of the mod where zeds where super fast deadly mofos lol yeah we started teaming up more and we still had pvp it just wasnt the be all and end all of the game as it seems many people think it is now( i blame youtubers and there popularity often glorifying the deathmatch side and the general state of FPS mindset of years of playing BF and the hundreds of others that dayz wasnt ment to be Agreed i dont want to remove pvp its an important part of the Dayz experience lol i just dont believe its the only experience ( oh and i class pvp in the sense of fighting with other players for a reason i class KOS as usually something else but even that has a place in dayz just more in moderation lol ) it isnt cod there is no k/d your working on if you had fun some cool experiences you wont get in that game you won alot more than the guy hiding on a hill for 4 hours not dying but having killed 4 or 5 guys lol

yeah its been said before many times this is not BF or COD want a K/D ratio you might be playing the wrong game it was this idea that didnt have me giving the OP beans and praising greatly cause i knew we would end up here 8(

What stage of the mod because it was very varied in its difficulty infact once the mod really took of it got easier in one sense and harder in another eg survival stuff became easier finding loot zeds became easier to kill. the trade of making it harder perhaps was more people with high powered weapons killing you so the difficulty level was a change in major play style from survival to straight pvp deathmatch. But that is all subjective to my experiences. Yes i would say in general Dayz is harder than many ( certainly not all lol ) but i guess some people want to make it harder and some of those will use the buzzword hardcore. My question back is what are you really asking ?? are your perhaps seeking an idea of the mindset of people who use hardcore????

My guess another buzz word for what simply means a harder difficulty level easily call it very hard mode lol but people love the buzz words so it hardcore ( i can hear the chest thumping now lol )

I can see where you are going with this my only worry is well 1 the time spent making the hardcore functions of the game that many dont want will basicly have the developer not want to do them cost vs demand sort of thing ( i hope i am wrong though ) 2 people are people we will argue over what goes into the hardcore mode lol even if we both want it hardcore your idea may not match mine. But i feel your pain and as such have expressed such on the thread about modding as i trully believe that is where most people will get as close as possible to what they want . When prvate hives and modded versions of the stand alone (prefect solution nope but it may end up being just that way...

yeah this pretty much sums it up in theory yes it could be done better on a different engine ( maybe maybe not an exsiting one) but it is possible to build an engine ground up for just this game BUT do you have millions of dollars and years to do it if you do by all means step up i look forward to playing your game in say what 2020 give or take a year( you have to make engine then make game niether is quick )

Im certainly not against the idea infact i kinda like it lol .... But id hold off on any idea like this until well the games is out i have spent alot of time trying to find bugs trying to figure in what situation they happen the most . So my death count to ladders is pretty high (lol last time i checked i found my biggest chance of being thrown off the ladder came from crrouching weapon in hand while triggering the ladder may have changed i havent tried since last patch actually but then they never listed it was fixed so my assumption is it still apllies lol.

Hmm something i havent done thus far in the stand alone is give a gun well a loaded one anyway . Done it quite a few times in the mod id say i had around 70% positive reaction to this of varied levels eg been given stuff back had a quick chat found someone to team up with or just have lived with them not shooting me. The other 30% you can guess the result lol . I do agree with the communicating part it is definately the best way to survive a potentially dangerous situation where other wise you most likely would have died. I have had a situation in a airport tower ( a dangerous and usual KOS spot and i realise this lol ) where i spotted 2 guys sneak in to the tower i waited behind the stairs at the top for them and when i saw them sneaking up the stairs i calmy said hey what you guys up to ( i knew they were up to killing me why else would they have snuck in when i had already seen them from a distance not being sneaky walking/running in open looting. The fact i didnt shoot when i had the chance the fact my voice was calm and i said i didnt want to shoot them but i would if needed had them put away there guns and join me upsatirs for a short chat . I cant say i stayed long as once upstairs my advantage was gone and the trust only went so far so i did bail from the tower not long after making sure they didnt follow lol. I believe it could have gone far worse and had i not had mic and talked to them what was my option kill them before they killed me ( or likely killed one and then been killed by the other dependant on how good or lucky i was or they were lol )

LOL never do i state i am hardcore( i have expressed an interest in playing the game as intended by the developers strange they try to make an anti game not for everyone. even in playing a mod of the game made harder , i dont really believe anyone is hardcore for playing a game but many think they are..) as for antagonizing people yeah some i do some desrve it some do it to me lol it is a game and we are here to discuss how its played. Does this mean you are for using exploits?? as i stated i dont care if anyone decides to play using exploits as long as they know it lol. LOL kinda a narrow and very short sighted answer there. I agree i wish the rp was bigger peoples want for staying alive was bigger but as the game stands and the mentality of the player base is what it is. The problem also as pointed out in the thread that surrender usually results in death so we go back respawn ya da ya da the difference is there seems to be alot of well non rp douche people playing i have been held up and had some great rp done i was like that was great (even though i did die in the end) the interaction was great . But i have been held up by what sounded like a 14 year old boy whos idea of a hold up was to scream how good he was and suck my cock bitch then hit me with an axe. the experience was somewhat less satisfying lol . When i respawned i went back to my 14 year old bandit ( a guess at age by pitch of voice) and again he tried holding me up this time i played along silently just long enough for him to get close then bam bam bam 3 punches your out i cuffed and robbed him then proceded to scream at him what a newb he was and suck my cock bitch he logged they seem to like to give it but not take it...... These days i have still allowed a hold up but BUT it depends greatly on what they say to start the hold up if it sounds like some nervous kid or well a complete douche i either run or attempt to take them out fists axe what ever........ Fundamentally breaking the game strange i always played on white listed private servers as it certainly helped with hackers script kiddies and well didnt break the game for me oh but then i donated because i liked the service i enjoyed my time there i wasnt some tight fisted parasite telling people how the game should be..

To me the problem has a few reaons behind it the no rp aspect is one its currently easy to re gear again and gearing and pvping is the game to many many people. Death has no real sting when loot can easily be gained but then if loot was hard being held up for it is just as bad as dying you say and your right. Hence why alot of people want to give value to a characters life so they will want to stay alive beyond just the gear they carry. We are talking about a player base where most find the idea of killing yourself to get a better spawn as a lgitimate tactic. Lastly as many have said you are not the norm people like the herioc society medical division are they will cuff vocally abuse you torture you bothin game and again vocally directed to you the player and in the end they will just kill you anyway so for those who have endured that there is no more surender death is a far better idea specially when death as it is doesnt really have any meaning...

A well written fictional story wasnt a fan of the zombie being crossed out with bandits lol regardless if the fiction fits the reality lol. Beans for all the effort hope the bandits dont take them from you.....

This is a truly epic game theme i still have this song on my playlist LOL but it comes close but doesnt sound like dayz to me due to all the refrences to bills and money etc but i like where your heads at LOL....

Ah so instead of using the intended light source of the developer ( how good it is is another topic entirely) you prefer to use an exploit doesnt worry me i most likely played dayz before you started(may 2012) and most likely will still be playing after you have moved on to another game it worries me little that your skills at the game lack bad enough for you to use an exploit. Ill happily play knowing you use an exploit i just hope you remember it when you out telling people how hardcore you are on dayz seriously i dare you to show ya dayz skills in a youtube video with night time play i want to read the comments you get.......

This sums up in one hit what is wrong with gamers today. If its not an exploit do you keep the game at the same settings for the day time or do you lower them back ?? If you lower them back then my friend its an exploit those settings are in the game to allow people to set it right for there screen thats 1 setting not 1 for day one for night you really think the developers intended you to change your setting when game time passes and it goes dark if that was intended they most likely wouldnt have a night time at all.....

Yeah by what has been found in the files improvised ones are atleast planned /coming soon? if so i am sure they will put some pre made mil ones in (hopefully as super super rare lol if we can already make our own. I dont know it is a term i heard in the mod and well i swap from bambi to fresh spawn at the drop of a hat. MY guess at the time of the mod there was no punch so a fresh spawn was helpless as i would imagine bambi would have been without her mum and you decided to hunt her as people hunt people in dayz... With the punch there not so helpless so it probably doesnt fit anymore although there still kinda easy prey if your hunting them.....

I think there correct i believe guns are working as designed and merely the status of the gun is bugged not showing you how bad off the gun is... I have encountered loaded guns that did not work at all ( pulled 357 of a body and loaded it with pristine bullets i had found in a house and click nothing at all.) Have done a little test firing with a mossin and when i did it again my results didnt really match up one seemed more acurate than the other. ( i am no expert at running tests and maybe one day my aim was off but i dont think so lol )

Not strange at all i think it is quite realistic .that you character has found religion during an apoc amazing in real life major disaster how many athesists find religion even if just briefly lol . Now id ask you to walk through the streets calling out i have salvation brother the answer to the plague that has befallen us and when there is no more room in hell the dead shall walk the earth ( yeah i know our zeds are infected rather than the dead type) see how long you live. strangely i did this and lasted over an hour walking in jocks barefoot carrying the king james edition bible calling out this stuff to fully armed guys and didnt get shot. Sadly it was a fresh spawn with what appeared to be nothing that beat me to death in the end lol

can you post a screen shot or series of screen shots showing what the compass is doing it may help people figure what your saying or whats wrong with the compass because of the many bugs i have found the compass is not one of them ( just because i havent seen it doesnt mean it doesnt happen . PS calling people idiots is not really allowed insulting people is against the rules of this forum ( most forums ) it is also not a good way to get people to be helpfull or even polite to you in a thread just saying...

A rush yes one that is hard for a game to produce a real sense of danger fear even... I am not sure while the game sits mainstream it will produce such thrills or as many of them i look forward as i say to a much MUCH smaller community who want to play Dayz. I hope i am wrong its alpha and all ,long way to go but with the menality of the larger player base being the object of the game is to loot as fast as possible to gear up and kill as many people as possible it loses that initial thrill well for me it does. Hence i believe the mod id like to make would not be popular main stream wise it may be liked by those few who wish to play Dayz or not only time and the chance to do it would tell...... Edit so the reason many have against modding isnt actually against modding it is really about the mentality of people in the majority playing it eg looking for the easy way quick loot.
