This will be brilliant it will actually be a survival game which ya know its listed as not an ubber elite death match. People will still kill people they will just be doing it in other ways maybe throwing spears shooting arrows making traps hopefully . You will get you guns and when you have them try hold onto them when some crazed hiding in the bush survivalist sees you walking past in ya nice military outfit m4 slung over ya should and he sticks a couple arrows in ya back ( arrows a little harder to hear and thus detect where there coming from even though the range is lower. Bring it on Rocket i for one am ready to survive the world you make not just the straight KOS player who finds his guns way to easily ......

had this happen to me before ( before this patch ) i could eat and drink till i was stuffed but never got the healing/healthy status, decided to check another server bang i was healthy...

so is it sort of along the same lines as the bug with lanterns then not working once you log back in ?? not that i have tested that in a while thats what use to and may still happen anyone???

LOL i am one of those guys getting screwed by server hoping i sit on one server spend ages going from town to town i end up getting tons food survival stuff but everytime i hit the likely weapon loot spot thats been looted... Just pick a server and stick to it once ya in game se how long ya last . How do you know that first guy would have killed you had you stepped outside as this freshspawn he might not have wasted the bullet ( he may still have killed you but thats the chance you take. Make a run for it start to comply and then when out fist punch run zig zagging away to escape or towrds to kill/knock him out do anything you can ingame do except go next server.(sure if server turns to shite desyncing try another but not cause shite happened you dont like..

Maybe its because of the hive maintenance is going on right now lol please use search we are getting alot of threads all at different angles relating to same problem..

Bows, fishing yes mining hmm maybe not but some crafting id like to see personally before going into a zed apoc town in just my jeans and a shirt id atleast grab a bloody big branch to bat them away with lol . once i had a knife a pointy stick spear 2 knives a stick with knife at the end taped on lol. Make my own bow ( traded in a heart beat for a already pro made one) stuff to make it more survival lol still have guns lots different guns just less of them . Asking to much ???probably but you get the idea lol

LOL sadly it will for me logged into original server freshspawn im like hmm shit signed into another server ( all of them hardcore so there not many ) im a different fresh spawn tried this 5 times ( there 5 hardcore servers in decent ping from me lol . Was terrible and desyncing badly played for a good 30 minutes so when it does come back online i am going to have 1 of the 5 freshstarts lol . Should have known ,i didnt pay attention lol such is life it is alpha lol ( yeah it sucks i am bummed had a good start lol )

i am all for it as much custimisation as possible to apply to characters i believe is a good thing ( i know i baulked at the red helm but was joking). Using paint using natural or found dyes hell id like to go to the swamp and sub merge myself in the goopy crap to smother myself in a quick camo job ( yes even or specially with a cold penalty it fits the risk vs reward idea.)

Ok you know those settings are in the game to allow you to set it right for your screen yes ( i will assume you agree thus far lol ). Now do you think the devs having this intended you to have one gama setting for day and one for night??? Your crazy if you answer yes if that was the case they would not have bothered making the night time darker it would be just a gray day time as it is when you use gama exploiting. Exploiting includes the use of in game mechanics to gain advantage in a way not intended by its creators strange every video i see of the devs playing they dont seem to be turning there gama up hence its being in a non intended way makes it an EXPLOIT. Personally i am not fused if you use it or not doesnt bother me to much but what does bother me is when you flat out lie to yourself oh its not an exploit it is the very definition of an exploit deal with it live and move on ... EDIT as your in the same state as me id ask you to avoid the hardcore servers please as i dont exploit dont really want to be night sniped by you using one lol

nope you can still find small stacks of bullets as well as the new boxes for the magnum ( you may have missed them being small and way smaller when in 3rd view lol ) yeah sometimes they can be a pain to grab in first person but i find if cant get them to apear in the tab /inventory view or have the item display when looking at it in live game it will apear when i roll the mouse wheel ( as in it will bring up option take or view item. Only once has this failed me and seeing i was at that time on a 3rd person view i clicked to 3rd person and still could not get said item although i could look at it better with high camera just still couldnt reach it ( although are there tips in 3rd view like mine for first person to get these hard to reach items lol )

Where does my very hoped weapon such as the katana fall in you hit death ratio . Im hoping 1 hit lol cause ill be keeping it sharp and honed as it should be to slice through a zombie completely ( there infected zeds not undead so currently head hiting not need just quicker) if i use a weapon that cleave you almost in half id call that a 1 hit weapon lol

If we were talking a twitch shooter id agree whole heartidly but as it is usually ( apart from some random crazed cqb play ) its not the fastest person who wins its the smarter more patient or person who moves to the best vantage point who wins. With controller no need to to use shift etc for varying movement speed etc as it becomes how far forward you push on the stick it makes flying driving vehicles far better and for some games i wouldnt go as far as saying its better than key board and mouse it certainly matches it though ( i class dayz as one of those just my opinion . Dont believe me i am happy to tell you the hardcore server i play on and you can come find out if your keyboard and mouse give you a big enough advantage over me to beat me. If i lose i wont be blaming my choice of controll method now if i was to play counter strike COD id go straight out key board and mouse cause there it certainly is KING...

Strange i find first person better for seeing smaller items so many times play 1st person on 3rd person servers i would find a place looted but little items like a stack of bullets laying on the ground would be missed. Dont have any trouble seeing items on shelves cuboards lockers although wish they would add the incremental stances of arma 3 to get that little extra height ( and for geting lower being able to match my player to the object i am using as cover etc lol ). Add to that the amount of loot i find under beds when guys have speed looted in 3rd view miss this ( yes so 3rd view is much faster to find the majority of the loot just not better at finding it lol ..

I doubt they will add any further or very little xbox controller support what is in the game already is merely left over support from arma 2. On saying that i play using my 65 inch 3d tv as my screen and as such sit back in my lounge to play and well i use a xbox controller lol i find it quite good just get xpadder use the default xbox support for the controller as it really is the best for movement etc then use xpadder to add functions to the controller ( remember the d pad can be made into a 8 way split so 8 functions put on it plus the unused buttons of the controller. Play with it find a way you like but you can almost ALMOST remove the need for key board if you take your time and think of what functions you need and use frequently ( i only use my key board for the hello finger sitting surender animations as i do not use them alot for general play other than that everything is pretty much on the controller lol EDIT also remember you can add key board functions to a tap or hold of a button or combinations of buttons so it really is a time effort on your own part to do it yourself so you know what does what on your controller.

You mean they need something to do while they camp in one spot doing nothing but waiting for some poor sap to wander past damn your right( heads of to start a new thread how to solve KOS by removing books LOL..

desync sounds like a major culprit here oh that and yeah melee is pretty cluncky the engine was really never very good at doing melee its actually vastly improved from the mods ( which wasnt really melee but having melee weapons as super short ranged guns with a animtaion to make it look like swinging lol . They are still doing more work on the animations but its greatly improved from its arma 2 origins..

I like hardcore its what i play ( 1st person) but sadly we are in the minority so getting more servers will actually spread what players there are for this even further out. Logs in tomorrow to find 20 hardcore servers with like 2 or 3 people on each or find 2 or 3 hardcore servers with 30 plus people which do you prefer cause you wont convince the 3rd person players to play hardcore cause there not well hardcore enough (ment as a joke dig at 3rd person view)

he is going to thank you for one of the most commonly known weapon locations and with current spawns one that is heavily looted usually and even worse often watched by bandits. Move inland find towns where all the doors seem closed and the zeds are still alive you can um thank me later...

use the search function in the top right of the forums it will point you to a few of these threads already and in those threads are pages of people listing the locations the mossin can be found. I like that you say your stuck with an M4, is a single fire bolt action riffle from WW2 really more suited to your style of play ?? when you find it will there be another thread where to find the long range scope?? Use forum search function its your friend so much info has been already listed down use it learn what it is you seek...
