I am pretty sure it is a modified RV3 engine which is the engine that both arma 2 and TOH where made on ( slightly different versions) arma 3 runs on RV4 arma 1 was on RV2 with OFP being on RV1. I have heard people call it RV2.5 from the idea that arma2 =RV2 where its actually RV3 -
could you not crank the render resolution up to 200% to take screen shot photoshop it and make it from that ???

He is being honest and helpfull he has his certain style of doing it but the info he gave was a valid helpfull point i have the same cpu and have overclocked mine to 4.5.. PS damn grimey have you really clocked yours to 5.2 what temps that thing running at ????

There have been some epic fan made desktop backgrounds that would make awesome posters but i dont think that BIS has made any posters yet hell they havent even done any advertising really yet...

they are currently every time you find a weapon ( thats not on a dead body and has been shot or had a weapon cleaning kit used on it) in pristine condition ... I dont believe it will always be so but for current build yes.. Ps anyone know does the weapon cleaning kit still degrade your weapon havent tried since a patch or 2 ago...

Now your posting in a manner fitting being respected (ps as for the developer part the person i replied to auto thought you were a developer and i pointed out you cant believe everything you read in a forum,, id call that sound advice). Now is it possible to cross a line of to much realisim sacrificing fun the answer is depends what you consider fun, but in general yes but to make a huge post on the topic based on what the idea of upcoming features without even having tested such features id call that irrational.. The game was aimed by the devs as being an anti game now one has to make some assumptions on what they mean by this please give me yours.. For me i believed that to be the intent that it wasnt fun in the classical way eg easy rewards that are given to you by playing more and more of the game ( such as one would find in a mmorpg) no the fun was to be had in a harsh gritty game designed to kick your butt give you freedom to do as you pleased but face the consequences of those actions.. Its rewarding in that you develop skill with the game.. But to me you sound like a long winded git full of your own importance but i wouldnt have said that but as you feel free to insult based on opinion ill give you mine.... -

you cant avoid KOS get of the coast and head up north.. what do we need them for hmm well need is a strong word but id say they are trying them as they want an authentic survival game they want to make it complex enough to have you spending your time trying to survive rather than a quick gear up and head to the coast and shoot everyone.. purely speculation there ( except the get of the coast if you want to live longer in current state of alpha) As for the OP's credentials are they shown ?? I can say i am the president of the united states does it make it so nope but can you prove i am not... -

not a bad build at all there even though it amd cpu still it has as many exit threads as a i7 looks good over all.. perhaps for next birthday or xmas get ya folks to spring for a solid state hard drive to put your operating system and a few games you play alot ( wont help fps but will boost load times alot and stop alot of the graphical pop ups caused by streaming data constantly from your hard drive.. -
also self storage sheds are great places to find them i traded for one then the next day i found 4 of them ranging from damaged through to pristine....

LOL so many sudden game developers appearing in this forum its amazing ,hey i am not saying your not but id say if you were do you really think the devs will take notice of this??? There has been a clear plan for how far they will try to go with the SA as you say first sign of it was blood types. Suddenly a new feature is announced that takes the game closer to a realistic survival exeperience and without even having tested it your response is woah this is going to far..... Sorry it is going to be a little more than a loot and shoot game we are all here for the ride as sorry to say it has always been deans dream of making an indepth survival game based on his army experiences and that was long before he added zeds for the cool factor and dayz the mod was born... I think you should wait and see how it turns out and hey if it goes to far in your opinion you dont have to play it... I just get the feeling you wanted an updated version of the mod well guess what now he has access to the engine and the support of BIS he is trying to make the game he envisioned not the one that became from mods of his mods glorified on youtube as nothing more as open world deathmatches(as entertaining as some of them were) SURELY AS A DEVELOPER YOURSELF YOU CAN SEE THE MERIT IN FOLLOWING YOUR ORIGINAL PLAN RATHER THAN QUIVERING BECAUSE A FEW PEOPLE ON THE FORUM GO WOAH MAYBE TO FAR... this forum makes up a tiny percent of dayz players it is not the centre of its world even with the huge amount of um developers posting here....... -
Sadly regular and hardcore are on different sections of the hive so you cant swap between the 2 or id take that trade... Are you on hardcore or regular if hardcore i am happy to trade a pristine acog fror a worn protector case and an extra clip for my fnx..

To the OP please actually read some of the devs reddit answers as you will find thats all pretty much on there .. Amazing i know the devs can actually come up with decent ideas all on there own ... If you think this post is condescending sure it may be but so is how you made this thread sorry but huge coloured writing and on many items that have been known about for a long time.... -

LOL thats a true point but one that only favours the one style of play ... ( try real low pop like 1 to 5 people there server hoppers feel safe and will hope directly into an airport i got bored one day and tried hopper sniping and went straight to a real low pop server.. 3 people on server and yet in 45 min i had 5 kills and 2 close calls where they got away ... But thats not really a idea for the over all balance of the game.. -
Maybe not the best idea in the world but strangely it did work for the mod which had thousands and thousands of zeds vs our current few hundred across the whole map. I hope they can get enough performance out of a server to make it hold and run the AI for thousands and thousands ( 10,000 plus) zeds if not then they may need to come with another idea to make zeds viable as a threat ...

Even gold and silver have little value when all thats left is survival ... When i get to a point where living is all there is left am i going to swap what helps keep me alive for shinny metal nope sorry i wont.. There wont be any NPC traders in game to make metals viable although there may be some players who would cling to the value of gold and accept trade of it but for me if i cant eat it , if it cant help kill the things trying to kill me( zeds bandits) or if it doesnt directly increase my level of comfort ( eg a can opener to make opening cans easier a warm jacket to keep the rain off then it has no value but thats just me.... Your key point is civilisations for thousands of years have been using and thats very true but then they never faced a world wide near complete wipe of the human race we have been faced with a very un civilised setting, faced with ( or will be) threats at every corner designed to kill us if it dont help you avoid that then its no good, If the game can get us to the point of having communities again banding together than sure a common currency not directly survival based might raise to replace currency.. -

Currency already exists in a form of the old fashioned barter you can trade what you like for what you like if both parties agree on the trade.. the Value of money is goverment and economy driven there is no goverment any more and the economy is now a simple survival based one.. So money has no real value in any regards other than what i call trash loot ( loot thinners to help balance usefull loot) and maybe as toliet paper if IF pooping comes in lol -
AH with increased load being put on the server i wouldnt think it a good idea to make the server your home pc ( which was possible in the mod yes but it didnt work very well once numbers started to flow in .. You know a cracked version is illegal and will not recieve the the updates of a currently owned alpha version.. Why would you want your own pc as a server unless you intend to play solo or in a small group of friends in a PVE style (which with so few zeds at the moment would be rather dull..) Maybe i am missing your intent here but it sounds like you want something dayz sa was not ment to be but again could be wrong..

live or die by the choices you make watch a player does he seem friendly??? make contact from behind and start a chat does he still seem friendly make your own choices on such matters.. As said any clothing items that denote a friendly will simply be worn by a bandit to allow him to get you to drop your guard... In the mod i was KOSed as much by the bandit heroes as straight bandits ( eg the guys who farmed humanity to get a hero skin so that they could pretend to be a hero but really just wanted to kill you...

yeah good spot to find them just a dangerous one those hangers are easy sniping i know my favorite sport when i am bored is set up there in a small guard tower lay down and shoot server hoppers who just pop up in them ( walk in i hold my fire just blink in and its click boom )

nope the towers in the tent area with netting over them they still spawn gear... willing to trade pristine acog for 3 bags of rice worn or better... or a worn or better protector case lol...

800 sqm in a survival game to me that kinda sounds like a huge deathmatch 100 gives 2.25 sqm each enough to gather resources survive high chance of meeting people but not constant gun fire... But who knows till we test it... -
This very much this frquent spawn lower risk. thats where i find mine in pristine shape i took it but dont use an m4 thought it make a good trade item lol
