Very possibly that bug or something similiar, possibly a hack i have experienced an invisible playing on a low pop server where i was not( or seemingly no desync) in an open field and he was close by the sound of the shots no more than 20 meters away. He hit me a few times before killing me ( i was fully geared) i kept turning to see him and following the sound of the shots but nothing. So it seems to happen be it radical desync bug or hack dont know but its only happened once in 260 hours of the SA so i am not throwing the i am not playing anymore card lol...

WHy are so many gamers so dependant on being hand held?? The reward the fun of beating something that is frustratingly hard is the greatest fun going lol. For myself i always hated RTS games its usually a case of build up produce your top level unit spam destroy etc I found nothing overly rewarding in much of this genre until i hit a game series called wargame.... Now there is a RTS that is difficult as all hell ,has a learning curve which is rather extreme the AI on easy will spank you over and over until you start to learn the basics then it will just beat you till you learn the finer points of countering each unit type using recon etc etc then it will merely challenge you and then you turn it up and when you finally think you have it you play online and the world of military strategists spank you over and over lol. How does this relate to Dayz hmm my average time spent in an RTS 5 or 6 hours then there is nothing left to learn anymore really my time spent in the wargame series more than 500 hours and id say i am average at best but when i win or even fight to a draw the satisfaction i get is HUGE. I want dayz to give me that in a zed apoch. I want to die over and over till i learn the tactics that work and then i want to slowly learn the more involved systems crafting medical etc etc with every step of the way being hard so when i survive the day i feel i have done something... But mehh maybe i am just sick i like to lose alot to make winning all that much sweeter...

Hmm yeah not alot of tanks in the original Dayz mod... But ask yourself this what will the tank be used for??? how would it help you in a zed apoc?? at first your thinking no zed can touch you in it true but you have to get out of it at a some point and with the noise it makes you would have a horde following you across the country side, Meaning death sentence.. What use will it be in Dayz hmm perhaps hitting fortified camps is my only guess so wow you want a death match item in game.. No thanks i am wondering if you have played any Dayz and i dont mean epoch crap i mean dayz.. Welding plate on civiliian cars and maybe even mounting a lmg is as close to a tank as i would ever want to see them go...

How about stick epoch abomination where the sun dont shine i want to play Dayz not bloody epoch. Epoch did add some cool things but over all IMHO it was the worst Dayz spin off ever buying shit from NPCs in a bloody apoch what the who the fuck wants metal bars when your trying to survive pure garbage so was the idea of having to much military vehicles. If you want to play with that much stuff play arma, I am not against helicopters civilian ones as the devs said they were going to put in specially if they follow there original plan of using the take on helicopters flight model. Why because 95% of the players will not be able to bloody fly the things not for a long time( well unless they buy TOH to practice flying) in that it would be authentic. You know epoch mod is still running and popular why dont you go play it..

By the time of marion reforms the sling was almost never used in roman armies. As you say it is a peasant weapon and can be well used by people who have trained/practiced with it over long periods( sheep herders and such) but its not something you cant easily train men with as you can with a bow( yeah a bow aint easy to use but for mass fire in one direction it is not so with slings. If you got 20 guys from these forums and gave them bows and told them to fire at a group of targets 50 m away they may not hit them ( some probably would) but they would atleast all be firing in the right direction. Do the same thing with slings and they would shoot all over the place. Add to that a sling has a fairly straight trajectory that doesnt allow for firing over(if you do fire up and over it severly limits the potential damage caused by the weapon becoming more of a harrasing tool which some would say arrows where to but to a much higher degree) a wall of men presenting shields to protect the archers from guys using slings and the tactic then falls on its ass which is why it didnt become the range weapon of choice of profesional armies through these centuries. It was effective in early antiquity but its use slowly died out as tactics quickly negated its use in long standing profesional armies it was still used and i dont doubt people still use it today easy to make ammo almost endless... Bows a noble weapon wow primitive cultures have been using them for centuries your american right?? Did native indians not use Bows I am not sure they have a nobility class in the culture....The natives of new guinea many of who still live as they did thousands of years ago main range weapons throwing spears blow darts and BOWS strange there is no nobility class in there culture either. As for the steel in that vid yeah it did look pretty mild but steel( I believe they use Australian steel to make there swords these days our steel is actually quite good hell even the americans where importing alot of it..) none the less your claim was it couldnt cut steel it can ,when did i say you couldnt cut steel with an axe or another type of sword ?? Didnt spout crap you said they couldnt cut steal i linked a video that showed they can cut steal . You said slings where as a big a sport as archery and i pointed out there not , not even close the amount of active archers way outwieghs those using slings a simple google of archery clubs followed by one on sling clubs try it and tell me which is bigger and again archery is an olympic sport firing slings is not so basicly your spouting crap from your own bias. honestly i think its actually good to get attached to your gear your characters life it makes the game oh so much more tense ( just dont loose your shit when you do die as we all do die) honestly i get so far with a character and then i start counting hours of play alive, Do i stay away from trouble when i start geting attached (usually around the 8 hour mark), nope i still visit all the dont go places while travelling and i am tense and cautious as fuck when i do. Trust me the missus has come to see whats up a couple times when she has heard me scream fuck at the top of my voice when i die. I just get up go outside chill for a minute or 2 get a coffee or a beer or if it was a real long life ( like the near 60 hour life i had) a stiff shot of single barrel jacks lol and click respawn and start again . It should never be the end of the world but when you stop caring that you die the game becomes so much less and i guess its one of the reasons KoS is so full on so many people who dont really care if they live or die in game...

Insanely hard weapon to use hey i give you props for being able to use one i cant and i have tried a few times there is a real art to it good on you for masterying it( or effectively using it) but its one of those weapons that ancient armies that used it they grew up using them they didnt wash up on the shore of a foriegn country as some average joe office worker and pick up a sling and be lethal with them .. Reality you should try it some time.

I gave KoS a go for 2 days figured id see what the great thing was.. I still dont know because it seemed pretty boring to me then i only managed to get 11 kills in 2 days 2 hours each day.. I still get more thrill stalking a player and declaring myself and then seeing what happens next so much fun vs i know what happens next with KoS see shoot maybe it takes 2 bullets or 3 or 4 depending on my aim.. I like PvP So if i declare myself and they jump to cover and a shoot out happens great its more fun than cllick your dead if they chat mayne trade happens not pulling that trigger(clicking left mouse) just adds more possibilities to the game. Will you die more maybe( still my average life is more than 10 hours of play easily ) and you have alot of fun tense exciting times. There is no k/d score in dayz maybe stop playing like there is one??

Is 1pp realistic not overly so as no one has produced a game (or a screen for that matter) that allows naturaul viewing as our eyes would see.. But is it more realistic damn right it is can you in real life see over an 8 foot wall without climbing it ?nope, can you in real life see behind you without turning around? nope can you see your ass while walking?nope, can you see through a door way without walking through or looking around it with your head inside ?nope. But you can in 3pp so these are extremely unrealistic features so spare me the bull shit.... Could they do things to make 1pp more realistic yeah and perhaps they will (like audio) it is still early alpha. But i have to ask stop pissing down peoples backs and telling them its raining. As note i am not against 3pp if thats how you like to play by all means enjoy playing it that way but when you speak bull you get told your speaking bull.

I am all for spawning all along the coastline but to go with it i would like there to be some sort of system to punish suicide cause you know they are going to do it in truck loads till they spawn near cherno balota electro berezino ( or close to there body ) I mean if you die a second time within 5 minutes your on a 5 minute timer to join climbing to 6 for the 3rd death and so on . Sure once in a while it will punish the unlucky sod who gets shot or zed bashed again in that time but hey then it teaches them to play more carefull and it will piss the suicide crew off no end.

Honestly they dont need to add to much of that sort of gear why because the first thing modders will do when they get there hands on the game is add every camo known to mankind and some fantasy ones to boot. There will be a flood of mil packs etc etc. Id rather they focus now on normal everyday stuff ( the stuff most modders wont get a hard on for adding. PS for you die hard military nuts ya now you can just play arma LOL... Edit as for the OP it wouldnt be hard for them to make a camo skin for the helmet and add the recipe to there crafting so why not add it in a little variety is always nice...

I have shot a friend when he gave me a sawn off shottie and i instantly tried to load it ( always load a gun the moment i pick it up even if its just chamber a round) but it was already loaded.... He lived but lucky i had morph to give him as i had broken his leg with my errant downward aimed shot....

I did mention its hardcore there is no third person mate we aint Noobs.... before you step into town if i was you id hit the sniper on the tower first ( thats usually me) because you start shooting in town its a great spot to shoot from ...

Aim at the legs easy break of the legs.... But if you are actually hiting with all those shots on a fresh spawn they should die i might think A)your missing orB) the server aint flash and desync has you missing

Ah difference in your story is its a WE not a lone sniper and your set up isnt in a area where real bandits are close by . Hey i believe your getting lots of fresh spawn kills but if you want a challenge the server is hell in a hand basket hardcore server australia bring your friends i got 7 of mine from my arma days the least experienced has 4 years arma under his belt . We love us some pvp but we hang out at Vybor you know where the armed people are.....

Tough call but yeah seeing your in one of the most popular spots on the entire map pretty good chance you got bagged by some one legit. Its kinda worrying how quick people are to jump to the idea of hacker specially in a case like this were plain bad luck is the most likely situation... LOL i would class myself as a friendly PvPer ( eg survivour of types) i stalk people get myself into a good position and frrom cover declare myself as un threatening as i can ( not screaming friendly friendly lol) i say PvPer as with the huge amount of KoS players or un mic wearing players the moment someone talks they start a firing and if they want to shoot well my sks gets a little work . If they talk they quickly get the idea i am not holding them up not trying for the blood often trade can happen or just shooting the breeze then i will carefully slink of into the shadows watching my 6 for the again often happening oh i changed my mind now i am going to kill you player lol. What i wear never really seems to mater if they see me first most will shoot hence i try as much stealth as possible and get first vision ( so many players run every were i have been crouched moving slowly through bushes and had plenty people just run straight past me.. This whole mentality oh cammo means a bandit crap is complete bull it has the most pockets for storing shit it is good cammo so it helps not get shot sounds like what a survivour would want to wear lol really they saying he has good shit lets kill and lot him but these same people will shoot you wearing a yellow rain coat waving at them because they go he has a gun he could be a threat etc. To many death match players and so you have to play bearing that in mind...

LOL sounds like a terrible idea to me i mean half the survival things you mention will or they want to be in Dayz the others will be over the top un realistic weakening of the human body to make it hard( or making it in a totally different enviroment because even someone with little to no sense in staying alive wouldnt have to many troubles surviving in cherno with no zeds... Your never going to stop pvp in a game and you shouldnt try but you should limit it or make it interesting and well zeds when they work will do that in your open fresh apoc world it will be a battle of bordem waiting for the next soul to shoot ( or maybe with no zeds you can up human pop and it can turn into a frantic wide scale death match ) you think its a fresh new idea and no one has done it yet ( done plenty in movies but they can make it interesting with plot) maybe thats because from a game view it sucks balls.. As mentioned most of the supporters you have gotten are PvP nuts and the other half are just new comers to dayz and are pissed cause zeds are currently crap , yeah i said it as they stand there crap but thats not how they are staying i have hopes they will make them not great but decent and they will add to the game. But by all means go play that mod or develop your own game hey if i am wrong i will happily pay for the game or download the mod and tip my hat but all i see is Dayz light ( the PvP edition)

Dont know if that message effects you or not as i have had it once and it bothered me so i just took a shot of morph and it cleared it up. I didnt mind wasting it as with so many blue medicals around i have acrued quite a collection lol. Id say it is a message in for a future mechanic possible limping from pain..

I think you will find it is because of the god like running ability you have in SA i added cherno plus to arma 3 and arma 2 cherno and did a run test from the coast of electro to nwaf and guess what it took the same time to run it in both maps....

Yes there numbers do seem to be down a bit i wonder if it has anything to do with fixing many loot spawns there is only so much they can put on the map and keep it all stable. Ok i want a challenge from zeds so honestly the amount it takes to kill them is fine ( hey if you get your aim right it doesnt take much) the speed i do like them fast but i would actually like them no faster than me at sprint when i have energy i am hoping they add fatigue soon and speed zeds to our flat out sprint and obviously they will catch us when we tire ( which will happen faster the more gear your carry again if they stick with there original idea of a weight plus health stamina system ) The animations and attack are still a little wack ( not so much the animations although they need more varriance in there attacks) but the looped path finding but this is stuff i know they will be working on that and clipping walls/floors. In the end if it is loot that is lowering zeds i hope they lower the level of 3d loot on map when they bring in there container loot items like the fridge they showed a couple months ago. Make a few more things like that such as boxes wardrobes cabinets all inventroy openable with possible loot to lower load and make the world feel more real ( still have the random location 3d loot spawns just not nearly as much of it.
