Apart from removing the crosshair i am not actually seeing the problem. From watching your video it seemed to me atleast there was just as recoil in 3rd person as there was in first person merely when looking down the sights you can see it jump up and down more due to being focused in on it you didnt to me atleast appear to be anymore accurate? Hip firing an auto gun at close range is a very valid method due to speed but with just the crosshair removed would make it less and less viable at further ranges.

Constructive??? I dont see anything constructive in your OP or in any following comments. Hmm i didnt realize it was the point of an alpha to cry like a little girl because you got killed in 1 certain building( there lots of buildings in the game that are potential death traps ). Did your mummy tell you that the game should be fair?? Im not crying or whining um thats you, i deal with the buildings as they are, i worry in the alpha stage about the real problems of the game ( zeds loot tables mechanics) i dont need them to go against logic to make a building more interesting for you to chase people into . But i am trolling the shit out of you because your whole absurd premiss for this thread is not done out of any geniune thought beyond 1 situation you obviously had while playing.

Really what a load of horse shit... People in this thread gave you reasons why it is how it is ( well except for the stairs movement thing it would be nice to take them a bit faster lol) they also gave you alternate methods of dealing with such a case. All i am hearing is this doesnt flow like a pure PvP game but ill take on some other lame stuff so i dont sound like a douche.. You worried you could get ambushed in that building well stop playing WHY because you can get ambushed damn near anywhere so that whole arguement is just lame drivel spat forward to add to a weak one sided arguement...

Wait what we are complaining about holding fortified/defensive positions?? well bugger me thats the point of them so a small number can hold against more than there number. People have been doing this for centuries hence why they build forts castles LOL. NO SHIT a man dug into a good position can hold of many thats how it should be for god sake. multiple solutions 1 leave 2 camp and see who has the most patience 3 use a grenades if you got them. Why the fuck do they need to balance buildings so what you can super fast side strafe 180 jump headshot???? There is a reason militaries chose/build defensive positions because they work so either adapt or not ,kinda sick of no logic crap, without good defensive positions how is a lone wolf or small group going to survive attacks from clans?? Nah lets throw out military logic for i want to be ubber PvP deathmatch super unreal tournament man...

Pretty much this. I almost feel they need to give items different damage absorbing properties eg some being bullet proof/resistant some being stab resistant and some being blunt force resistant. Might be a little complex ( i dont think so but i dont have to code it) but would certainly make a more complete and satisfying damage model.. -
The private shard/hive question is a burning one for me . How will it be handled with private shards with say 4 servers linked to it? will they get everything in the economy because if they dont then your screwed because you cant search other servers with characters from this private shard. Also though if they do have everything in the economy will this not push more people into private shards as it will be easier searching 4 servers rather than dozens of servers. Hense why i say i have misgivings of the system but cant say its good or bad till i see how it actually works. Hadnt even thought about duping but that will be a vital question in what is ment to be a controlled economy..

Do a little search yourself you will see its widely and very publicly known that this is the system they intend implimenting( althouggh anything can change) hell there has been several videos of rocket talking about how he thinks it will be great.. Just cause your ill informed you dont need to be spoon fed. As for the loot system i have misgivings of it yeah but guess what ill wait till it actually starts to get tested then ill say its bad or its great on how i actually feel it is rather than guessing its bad or good before we have even seen it.

What serious?? sorry man the rose tinted glasses are obviously a little dark... The mod was fantastic but you seem to forget when it came out it was buggy( very buggy) the zed pathfinding was bad really bad the performance on peoples pc was um bad very bad with no hope of getting better due to it being on a older game ( no control of the devs to make it perform better than arma 2 did merely lower the impact of there own scripts making it run worse...) It didnt have alot of features honestly it was fairly barebones when it rolled out. Hmm alot of that sounds fairly close to the SA doesnt it? Its buggy very buggy but hey we aint out of alpha yet it ment to be buggy. Zed pathfinding is bad but hey we already turned a major corner with that its getting alot better now ( oh not to mention the zeds can actually run inside something they never could do in the mod which made them easy to shake. PC performance hmm its not great but id say its already better than the mod and with the 64 bit servers being tweaked now and dx11 to be used it will look far better and perform way better on more pcs( the mod is never going to get more optimized infact it will only get worse as they add more scipts to it to add in more features as they cant do it at the engine level. Features yeah we a little short on features thus far but what features we do have are done in a far better way as they dont need to script them in.. Melee is not a gun firing with a near 0 range with a ganky animation tacked on ( oh how i loved reloading my axe) So on and so on . Serious man maybe your love of dayz has gone you like me have probably been playing it since early 2012? thats a long time on a game because seriously if you think the mod is better than where the SA is going then you have lost it....

You do realize any optimization done to the game for it to play on the PS4 will be shared with the pc version( this is stated by rocket in the announcement of it) which means at the end of the day your 1200 dollar laptop will most likely play it better than your ps4 will at higher settings ( seeing as the ps4 is about as strong as a mid lvl laptop) But hey happy days if you can play it on whatever format you like seeing as they have stated pc is there main focus with extra work done by another team and progress shared with pc version so win win for everyone..

Actually i have always been a supporter of skills passive skills with no visual levels etc. But have the skills we have now reduced as it stands we can do everything perfectly dependant on the condition of the material used. I believe a well done balanced skill progression would add great value to a players life making some SOME people strive harder to stay alive ( i believe its a win win situation really the survivalists have something to work for and the KoS/griefer style players will get more joy when they kill someone.) How exactly it would be balanced id leave to far smarter people than myself but honestly most things should have a passive skill level to them so we can trully start as average joe and by the end of a large survival time become the true hard grimey bear grills(without the fake camera crew stuff lol) style with what ever you have practiced more at you are actually better at. The only exception is i dont think it should ever affect gun play no skills beyond our player skills affects that. Stamina( real people get fitter as they train or get less fit as they suffer dehydration starvation over long periods Gun smithing (cleaning fixing of guns and even modifying of guns) Wood work(making of bows arrows traps using ropes so more a general skill here Medical( if they expand the medical system further it will give plenty of scope to develop skills in dealing with bone breaks cuts of different levels of severity etc) and so on and so fourth with all the things we do in game already with a perfect skill level as um average joe washed up in an apoc... This might MIGHT help premote team work in some more people as it would take far to long to learn all skills and would be better to be half spread skills with 1 or 2 you specialize in so i am the medic and you might be the mechanic and our mate joe might be our gun smith /food hunter.

Oh that is normally the sort of gear i go for but when you spawn insight of the walls of the NWAF its hard to not just pop in to see whats going on . Now i am in search of my usual normal gear aswell (fishing hook lantern gas stove fry pan rope etc etc) Wierd thing is i am having a hard time finding that sort of gear .... Its almost like this round the game is telling me its been months try your hand at banditry again ( every now and then i try the classic banditry as in rob not kill if i can, hell usually i swap stuff when i rob, as in your axe is pristine mine is damaged swap but ill steal food and ammo out right when the odd time i play that style..

(character wipe as always with new patch)To go from freshspawn to pretty much full mil geared up i have 2 30 clips for that gun a single clip for me cz pistol i picked up so i wouldnt say i am fully geared by any means but was WAY to quick to get to this point ( respawn working to well perhaps as i say the NWAF had been looted before i got there, but then i dont know how it works does it spawn stuff flat out till server reaches a certain economy meaning if i die in a day or 2 getting back will be that much harder or will it just keep spawning good gear?? Ill reserve my conclusion for a few more days see how the levels of gear are when i do a lap back to the NWAF to see whats kicking about..

Sadly this is what random spawning all over the map did for me... I spawned between vybor and the NWAF time taken to get to this point 12 minutes... Honestly i like the idea of random spawns all over the map but after tasting it i am kinda liking the idea of set NE coastal spawns lol.. Edit this is the brand new exp patch and NWAF had already been looted as all the doors were open and there were 31 players on the server..

Yeah it was damn near the release they spoke of possibly going a console they even said the PS4( then as in now they stated the PC version was there main focus first). Hey if they can get it to work more power to them plus it could actually benefit the pc players i mean they will have to optimize the crap out of it to get it to run on a PS4 so any of that filtering to the pc does equal win win. PS please no console fanboii's tell me a PS4 is as powerfull as a gaming rig just dont go there ok lol you only need to look at the watch dogs debacle where they actually dumbed down the graphics for the pc so it didnt look any better than the console version untill we unlocked the visual effects files that is....

Backstory there isnt really a solid backstory as such merely some general background info that has been given by devs. The major parts being there infected not undead and that we are immune hence why they have outright rejected the idea of bites turning players into zeds.( no one has said it was airbourne( that i can recall anyway its hard when you have to go on dev tweets here and there etc) but it would be the most logical result knowing the only other fact we do that 99% of the population is infected or dead I actually wish they would go with an undead style lore for the zeds its much harder to pick holes in because its completely fictional but i certainly would love them to actually write a proper backstory as the only other dev info i have heard was it set in an alternate timeline to armaverse ( so following the same history to the point of dayz then verging away i guess to explain the no zeds in arma 3 in 2035 lol. -

One small thing though what is in Dayz isnt classic dead zombies there infected humans.. That being said many of the principles of your damage model are valid though as an infected rage style human would not be affected by shock ( shock being the usual killer of humans when injuries have not directly effected vital organs brain heart liver ( liver being a little slower than first 2) So they should be insta killed by head shot yes they should be able to take several body shots before dying ( possibly slowling the infected with each shot) and they definately should be able to take loss of limb and still be active for a reasonable time till natural blood loss results in its death. Not sure about bite causing death as well we are immune to the virus ( thats why we are the only normal humans left ) but a realistic infection of unclean wounds (being far more exagerated due to the state of the person bitting us would be good. -

Yeah considering the person i posted it to has a habbit of saying how cool he is specially in threads where people have had troubles he didnt( as in direct quote of sorry dude doesnt happen to cool people) .... mr elitedude is your classic poser so yeah i think it was quite justified to poke a little fun at him.(its not an insult merely pointing out he is not as cool as he has said) Although at my age i am not sure its possible to be a hipster cool or other wise but cheers LameMobber i am sure he needed you coming to his defence... -
With the fall colours of cherno definately a combo of biege and brown... Still the best cammo is moving slowly and using trees bushes for cover though lol..( oh greys and blacks when inside a city )

Ah yeah ,sorry i typed that out quickly . On re reading it was hard to understand ,bandana is a perfectly good source of rags (never know when your going to break ya leg and need a splint.) I always take the gear to carry as much as possible(minus the mountain pack i need to see behind me in first person.) need the room as i carry a lantern i carry a gas cooker and matches i carry a fry pan i carry a map compass( not that i need them but i like to collect what i figure i would use if it was real.) Having fun playing with some house rules i eat only what i catch(fishing and hunting and gathering apples berries) and i only drink when i have cooked meat so i can assume i have boiled it . Makes the game FOR ME alot more interesting and yes i wear the rain coat because to me it would be usefull (even though it currently does nothing against rain lol ..

Are they not doing private shards now though?? which is merely seperated sections of the main hive so admins dont have control of the database at all?? because yes when i saw the tools i had as an admin of a server i was pretty shocked i could see where everyone was i could see where they had travelled i could see and take or add any item i wanted to there inventory ( this was on a private hive in the mod...

Its always a crap shoot when it comes to running RV games my best guess with your hardware it will be low to medium settings ( some low or off some medium, experiement to find what works best for you Dont forget to do some changing in the CFG file like view distance scene complexity and some start up parameters may help a LITTLE bit) But all that considered id say 20's in cities and mid 40's in the wild so playable just not fantastic the problem with either the mod or the SA is it is cpu heavy and not the best multithreaded so single core performance is kinda key. But hey you may get lucky and it runs it better than that i have seen some low specs blaze through the SA quite well and i have seen some decent rigs tank the game.. The 540m is not an amazing gpu its base scores for G3D mark is around 700 ( to give you an idea a gtx 750 ti which is a cheap desktop card is around 4000 for the same test. but i believe it will run it just at lower settings dont expect it to be fantastic.. Edit radeon 6700 has a G3D mark of around mid 900's so its a bit better but not alot..
