Realism and Weapons [Balanced or Realistic?]
Sooden replied to ProGamerGov's topic in General Discussion
good point. also they should make hellichopper complicated control wise to match up to RL and even cars with gears and peddle buttons, sure this means i wont know how to use them, if i wanna, i will have to learn, or have to team up with some that can. its to simple to have it all on a plate. image if only a few good player could fly a chopper? People would each have there own skill set not based on levelling up but the ability to use a simulated function i know the deathmathers will hate what i said, good :P some people want instant acces to all the game, they dont like the idea of something they my fail to unlock/use -

just wanna say, this is one of the best polls. the numbers are giving use a good idea of what people want, over the noisy Multi Killers posting in each thread with ' not this again' -
Realism and Weapons [Balanced or Realistic?]
Sooden replied to ProGamerGov's topic in General Discussion
i don't know much about guns but all hear AK are more robust, so maybe they will add them when gun lockup are in game. i remember before alpha, Dayz team taking about cleaning guns, AK would be best for maintenance -

THE DAYZ WISH LIST (From the Community to the Devs)

Be careful! if you get your wish, that's dangerous. could tip -
I wonder if they will be banned so fast? if it was me, i would not band then to fast, same way governments and pay people to try and hack them. free hack testing. sure it interrupts game play and other testing, but all things need testing. they will probably only ban the dumb hackers
-
I voted yes, because they need to block the easy stuff so that the serious hacks start forming before end of alpha and they can be monitored and stopped. Love it that people are cheating in alpha (I don't like cheats), very good testing for anti cheat systems, before things get important.

forget CS , my mistake i guess, just when you said "company should take a lesson from games like CS",it sounded like you where talking about more than one game of the same style, so i though you meant 'take lessons from a group of games, that have the same style' and i am plenty old :P -
Are you sure you didn't Photoshop them in :P i was gonna collect loads too, but you beat me to it

Realism and Weapons [Balanced or Realistic?]
Sooden replied to ProGamerGov's topic in General Discussion
i never said you said, make the game like CS, but you said 'Dean and company should take a lesson from games like CS ...' That's what I meant by blending in (a lesson from games, see the 's', so ideas from them games) and was making the point that he can do that or try something risky and new. Sure my comment was a little flippant but not an attack on your comment -
Realism and Weapons [Balanced or Realistic?]
Sooden replied to ProGamerGov's topic in General Discussion
yup good idea <_< , blend in with the competition, don't look for a unique selling point, follow the working model and make 'some' cash. No risk, no fame. So depend what Dean's motive are for this game. ADDED: Fame example and power it can give ELITE (1981 space game) was the fist space game to change from 'play for a day' to Space role-play and simulation and that gave birth to also sorts of space game. Because of their fame and even with the last ELITE game being in 1995 (i think), they started a kickstarter project and broke all records and are still getting support funds (think its at 2mill pound+ and that early alpha), That's what fame can do for a game creator. i know people will say 'but dayz got more in it alpha', be we are talking about a game which its last version over 15 years ago and funds where given just on the concept, not sales of a workable alpha client -
lol, i bet you do... Pew pew!

no.. more like this Why all the ammo

Can't do anything! Ping/bandwidth/desync 0, right-clicking on items shows "Retrieving..." can't manual respawn?!

Like above also, if it happened after a client patch, a firewall or virus checker may have block/lock the client. -
How often have your shot somebody because you don't want to loose everything?
Sooden replied to roguetrooper's topic in General Discussion
never, but don't normally have a gun out, so run and hope added: Some seem not to attack if you are running away and not getting a gun out. But not the best life plan :P -
Have a feeling the people that say 'no' right away are just interested in killing, they don't wanna have to worry about deeper aspects, this has happens in MMOs as they develop and start loosing complex depths of games*1 in order to get new 'toy box' player and hoping old player will stay (and they do stay, that's why it works). As we are in alpha, this is where the depth should be added and just hope it not reduced later on in life. Also, I know when I was learning a few survival skills, the more they where used, the more proficient I became at them. Weird concept eh? *1) I have noticed games where you can craft something and have to collect all the parts, and store them till you have them all... but then this system is remove and the item its self become easy available. Not sure how much this happens now. I find very few mmo i want to play anymore

Why to open preserves requires opener?
Sooden replied to PacoOfficial (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
'you've opened a can with your hands and lost 0.01% of the content' no idea what is being said in video be he seems to like whatever is in that can -
The Kos aside and this is on topic cus you brag about you get your frills hoping you have upset someone in RL. You have some issues that you are bringing to the game that are not part of the game. I don't think DayZ is meant to be a tool of bulling. Added: but still, thanks for the post, and giving us an insight into some of the mass KOS'ers, i don't think most have the guts to say why they do it. Now we can work on fixing you

Discussion : KoS Mentality and how to keep it to minimum
Sooden replied to LeoIvanov's topic in General Discussion
a point brought up a few times in this thread is that people are playing like a deathmatch,it is a shame and does need fixing. Before you say, 'Dont tell me how to play!', i don't think we are. We just want to balance out things and make it a survival simulator and still a sandbox. What has happen here is people have come to dayZ with the intention of it being a new shooting game with easy pray (players) and want to learn it as fast as they can an 'GOD LIKE' and once they killed of all the easy player (Who move on to another game, as the keep getting told too), then the killer move onto another new game (no easy kills left), leaving dayz dead (not un-dead). This happens with shooting games alot and that why they don't have a long high life of customers (e.g, sale peak and fall fast) Good thing we get to see this in alpha :) -
yeah, kinda what i meant by skills, as posted up a little.
-
that seems reasonable, but i mean the type of person that kills and kills and rings up their friends to say ' i got 20 frags in an hour'. As it is a game there is no reflection of what problems someone like that would have in real life (i don't mean the player, i mean a killer in real life) *So to be Clear, not saying the player has problems*
