gotta give it to OP (opening poster, not over powerd), this topic has drawn a lot of attention. so it must be an important issue added: off to play on a server that says 'no can openers'

hope the foulness was not directed at me , as you used 'you' in quotation to my post. i don't kos as i am a HERO just my post along this topic may confuse as i am willing to see things from more than one side .

yup, it they make it complicated, only a few skilled can do it (not me)

I think you can't ban someone unless they brake the basic rules, as posted before (no racism, porn, illegal... and so on). So if the title your server is 'no KOS', you are just advertising the style of game play you wish. like some people title servers 'tactical ops only' or 'team speech only'. As long as they don't ban you for failing to meet their requests in title, I think its okay.. Please staff post and clear up if i am wrong Edited: Spelling

i feel i was unfairly in thier list... i am always polite and try to be considered in my posts

also KOS is not a game function (like attacking) but a player reaction, so as long as people aren't banned for KOS (as it is part of the attacking game action) on a 'non KOS' server, I cant see how it braking any rules . If I am wrong, please explain, in not one to blatantly follow what I first posted, I can be reasoned with :P

I know they (Dayz) have the rights of the files and how they are run (ownership remains with Dayz), but I am unsure as to the strength on un-enforced 'rules' in titles. This is why it should be reported and not taken into ones own hands edit:Corrected term

seems reasonable.. what if you saw one person just sitting, would you leave them be, and move along? just out of interest..

a violation if No KOS is in-forced, i think you can name your server title what you want.(i could be wrong, and within reason - don't play that card) so, these people wanna play on no KOS, they are kinda just asking you don't. You want to stop that, so they cant have that, and their server goes cus they cant have what they want (and you feel super:P). Now, if it is a real violation, report it and it will go. you don't have to go on there, you wanna go on it for your own fun. don't try being a white knight. (edited for typos) added: its not like they are saying no Pvp, some servers do say that. They should be your focuse, not the ones that don't want KOS

we do, KOSers, and the cycle is complete.

I saw an effect of ruined gear, i could not disinfect a ruin protective box :) i guessing this feeling will change as 'real' rare items exist, but yeah, take no time to gear up

2) Another Bobble hat adventure So I had more loot than I needed and decided it was time to die... not in balota, just not interesting. So i whent to electro and gave all my stuff to the first person that was friendly, then sat in the town for a while. I saw people come and go, no one attacked me as I sat, and one person even gave me water (Think I saw 7 people in total that didn't KOS). Then 2 people come running into town and one gets out a crowbar, and starts hitting me as i sit :P So i get out my baseball bat hidden in my back pack and give them what for.To my suprize, a hero jumps into defend me, taking out the attackers friend and the crowbar man ran off bleeding. I healed my self up and went back to sit in my spot, but right away, the crowbar man was back! I ran after the man, into a building, hitting him with my fist only (always wanted to test them) until if fell unconscious from being hit or blood loss, im not sure, and die about 30 seconds later. Still, this was a fun way to go out :P

When there are private hives and passwords, these no KOS server will have their own spot. But as its alpha, is it really a big issue. You worried they will get kitted to easily and then go KOSing, as its public hive, sure that a probability. But I think its more likely that they want to play a game where they can rob each other and rp, not a style for everyone. I think they should be given space to see why happen with this sort of game play. They want to be part of the development too . I just don't get the anger. If you think they are rule braking, report it, don't form an army of evil.

i agree with this if they are enforcing it and banning people, but i think its more of a hope (also i don't play no KOS)

Instead, join the server that say things like 'Server not working', 'Server having problems' and so on, in the title. They are the ones that try to put people off so the can solo or just play with mates. I think they are brake 'the rules' more than no KOS

what if they are, they are having their fun. Guessing you KOS to upset others and hate the idea of people enjoying them selves in any other way but your 'game style'. And on my Second life, players go killing zombies,ghost, bosses, each other, collection resources, ammo and gun and role playing. Or playing in my other RPG of pirates. you seem to have issues.

So, someone sets up a server, I think it cost them cash, and they wanna play with no KOSing and you want to go on there just to make problems for them. I knew this childish mentality would happy lol. plenty of other servers out there, why not let people have no KOS servers if they want and leave them alone. Then we don't need to have all the KOS threads. If only people could be mature enough :huh:
