As far as I remember Rocket said at some point that melee weapons apply damage where they actually hit something. Also you can one-hit a zombie with a wench, you just have to hit his head. Done this a couple of times, sneaked up to zombie from behind and killed with a single hit to the head. Although I must admit that it is not easy to hit the head. An overhead strike would make it easier.

Looking forward to that. :) I already kind of like the harbor city. Also hoping for some new stuff at Pobeda Dam, always thought it was a cool area with the big lake surrounded by hills and the huge dam.

I have to agree on the reddit thing, it's a pitty that the devs are more active on reddit than on the official forums. All information should be here first. -
While reading the thread about the need of maps and removing splitted maps I had the idea of adding different kinds of maps that would make it worth collecting them. So here's the deal: there should be three kinds of maps, civilian map, hiking map and military map. The civilian map will show only the main roads, exact layouts of cities and villages and point out buildings like supermarkets and hospitals. The hiking map will show you all the roads including small paths and point out ponds and wells and maybe good hunting grounds/deer stands (we'll have to see how hunting is implemented), not so precise on cities but therefore show precise layouts of forests. Also the hiking map should have elevation markers. The military map will show all roads, have a grid and elevation markers and it will show all military buildings. In addition you could add a ruler that, when used with the military map, allows you to measure distances. I think this would make it worth collecting the maps since each map has it's purpose. Of course you can still go to an online map but theres nothing we can do about that. Feel free to post any features you would like to see in the different kinds of maps or even other kinds of maps you would like to see. :) PS: Of course you should make the maps spawn in different locations. Civilian map only spawns in civilian buildings, preferably cars and supermarkets. Hiking map could spawn in deer stands and maybe barns? Military map obviously only in military buildings.

The idea was to remove splitted maps and replace them by different kinds of maps which all have a purpose/use. And I believe that it would make some people use the ingame map instead of online maps, at least I would appreciate it if I didn't have to tab out of the game to check where the next hospital is, since I dont have a second monitor. But yeah, I also dont want to see map markers in the standalone, since it ruins part of the game which is navigating by map and compass.

Please no epoch-style building, those huge walls made of many small walls just look ridiculous. I like the idea of boarding up houses/sheds though. -
Nice collection, some of those were already in the mod like the GAZ and Ural, pretty sure they'll add these kinds of vehicles.

Lazors, we need lazors!!! No seriously there are more than enough attachments for the M4 already, lets see what attachment will be there for new weapons once they are added. BTW lol at the spoon on the suppressor ^^

I for my part really don't understand what the big fuss is about. There are 1PP-only server now so everyone can choose how one wants to play the game, problem solved. I play on 1PP-only servers and they are well populated, so I'm happy. :) I don't like the 4th wall thing, it tricks you into believing an area is clear while it's not. But on the other hand I wouldn't care if it's implemented as long as they keep 1PP-only servers, if this is to replace 1PP-only servers, then it's a clear no from me to 4th wall.

I get the point that you're trying to get people away from balota to prevent the balota-deathmatch we had in the first days. But it's like 4 out of 5 spawns are on the east-coast now, I don't want to play on the east-coast 90% of the time. And I think quite a lot of people agree with me, since I regularly see a lot of freshspawn-corpses around the silo in Solnichniy, which me and my buddy named suicide-silo. ^^ Also, there don't seem to be any spawns west of Elektro, wich basically makes Cherno a pretty empty city. Suggested spawn places: -Pusta -Prigorodki -Cap Golova -Topolka Dam -Castle Rog -Pik Kozlova (would be pretty awesome to spawn there IMO) Maybe also add Mogilevka, Staroye and Msta, although I'm not a fan of spawning too far inlands. Another way to stop balota deathmatch would of course be lessening the military loot spawns there, an M4A1 should be a very, very rare thing to find there.

Well I didn't think about it that way, although I don't really understand why the east-coast would need more testing than other parts of the map. I don't know of any special buildings that you can only find on the east-coast, except for the shipwreck maybe but that one should be getting enough testing since I guess about every player would like to see it.

Didn't read the whole thread so sorry if this was already mentioned. ^^ Instead of splitting the maps you could add different types of maps, like a civilian map and a military map. The civilian map would show you things like supermarkets and only the main roads, whereas only the military map contains a grid, elevation markers and military sites. Maybe also add a hiking map which shows you the small paths and maybe good hunting grounds (which should be the feeding places for deer that you can find in some forests, once animals and hunting are in the game).

Hey guys, I was in cherno this evening and heard several explosions coming from balota and also big plumes of smoke, as far as I know there are no explosives yet?! Was it a hacker or something I just dont know about? ^^

So today rubberbanding has been really bad, on top of that, after being teleported I can't do anything, can't move, open gear or even open the game menu to disconnect, instead my character kept spinning the direction I was moving the mouse the moment I got teleported. Had to shut the game down via task manager. Is this a know issue? -

I like the general idea. Just yesterday i saw a car that had been driven off the road into a small ditch and crashed into a rock. Wonder what happened, maybe the passenger mutated into a zombie while his buddy was trying to get him to a hospital? But where are the corpses then? :) -
Looks to me like there is already a function to place objects for building purposes that hacker can access and use with any object. Just speculation but it looks alot like the way you "carry" and place objects in mods like DayZ+. :)
