Hey Guys, Okay... I did a bad thing... from a moral stand point but the right one from a survivalist one... I think... maybe. I still feel bad... The short version is: I hopped on a low pop day server... some how... and was free to loot the tent base near the shore-side airfield. After which I was loaded up. Four water bottles... all empty... but ready for a refill. A M4 with a cqc stock, a damaged but upgraded front grip and a damaged sight. Two 40 round mags.... ect. Anyway I made my way to the field next... scoped it out and decided on the radar tower first... to get a lay of the land and scope out any players incoming. I get to the top and notice a empty mountain pack.... already had one and continued to the walkway... looked around and suddenly heard the sound of a m4 being loaded. I turned and there was a guy swapping his pack with the empty one in the center of the control room. He didnt see me... so... I... shot him in the back. I felt like a real asshole... but so far I have been betrayed a few times... and this guy had a loaded gun! Thinking back.... I could of held him up... told him to walk away as I kept him in my sights from the tower... but I panicked... so far... after playing and dying for various causes... about a dozen times.... I have yet to use a gun on anything... never saw a firing animation yet.... and all I was thinking was: I'll be damned if I get shot in the back for trusting again. I feel bad, though... and doubt I will do that again. On a side note: It is amazing how such a simple game can inspire such survivalist instincts... fear of death... even in game... has got me acting totally out of charecter. Can't wait for a finished product. So... what should I have done? Was I dead wrong... like I feel I was? Thanks, super

Odd thing happened: I ran into a fully decked out dude... he took a pot shot at me with his Mosin... he missed and I emptied a full mag of .45apc into him. I began to inspect him.. grabbed his rifle... LOTS of ammo and supplies... then I noticed a countdown in red... I was being disconnected! When I respawned... I lost everything I looted after the fight... I even had the ammo I fired back... what happened? Did I tango with a server admin... and he kicked me out of spite? Combat logged? I dunno.. but I was slighted! he was greedo, too... because HE SHOT FIRST!

Just bumped into two guys dealing with a zed. I whipped out the Frenchie and shot it dead(er)... the two guys immediately turned, axes raised and advanced on me... long story, short; after a friendly, soothing chat, I convinced them I wanted to help...I gave them an extra pistol and told them the best place to get ammo for it... felt good.

What's this tool bag's problem? Why restrict content? The more the better. Bring the ponchos on!

Can anyone tell me a good place for mosin ammo? And is there a point to holding on to shotgun shells?

I have been saving my second FNP45(and PERHAPS a loaded mag) as a peace offering... but giving someone a loaded gun... tends to rid you of the ability to complain... when they shoot you in the back.

That is like saying, "There is no point to having an Ak-47 in game, we have M4's" I am with the OP here, let's get some ponchos, in this bitch!

It is interesting that the community response was favorable towards my behavior... this game really is one of a survivor's... brutal. I am pumped to get home and and explore a bit more... now that I am well armed... I need to seek out food and water.

Thanks guys... but how would you have handled a "diplomatic" engagement? Are there unspoken rules the community is guided by? Say I did not fire... what should I have done?

I had a great start last night. I started in a city... the one with the square with rhe crashed plane. After an hour and change of looting I had a Mountain pack FULL of soda, water, canned food an axe and a crow bar. I found a Mosin, a bipod and a scope. Man, I was happy. Then I spotted a huge ship amd decided it was awesome and went to check it out... I was walking though some ankle high water... when I heard a sound I never heard in game before... I wasn't sure what it wand it sounded distant to I kept on marching. Well.... it ended up being a guy on a hill zeroing HIS mosin on me. Sure enough a moment after I realized it... down I go. I felt like a food delivery guy.

I can't even find a magazine for the FN...

Well... I just found a 20 round mag... and went ahead and fell off a building... lol... square one.

That is the style servers I found all that stuff on, in the first place. The problem with a night server is my flashlight attracts every thief in line of sight right to me.

Oh Lord... I just found a silencer and a CQC butt-stock for my M4... AND a chest holster for my .45 .... and a ballistic helmet... my dude... LOOKS serious. Too bad, I still don't have any ammo. Edit: AND a Gas Mask!

Thanks guys... I feel warm and squishy. Funny enough... I have 24 shotgun shells... equal parts Buck and Slug... Guns and ammo a plenty... just nothing that works together. Question: Can guns be found in normal homes? or Military locations only? Should I bypass the risk of looting towns, if I have enough food and meds? What I really need is ammo... or a shotgun...
