He actually mentions that in the talk. I've been involved in some software (non-game) alphas and this is a lot more like them than say bf4 alpha. I think this alpha is actually unique as any other proper alphas I've been involved with has never even been worried about the alphas being fully functional whereas the stable branch of this aims to give a playable game. Great to hear in this interview that development will go on past 1.0. Have to say that's another amazing thing that bohemia have going for them. Most other studios would have stopped arma 3 development ages ago and just be pushing arma 4. They are kind of unique in that respect.

I'd never heard of the guy when I initially bought the game but he's earned my respect since rocket left. Mainly it's because I see him in so many streams etc but also because he recognises that it's not really the consumers fault that they don't come from a software development background and can't be expected to understand the whole 'alpha' concept.

Yep I think it'll be back in the top 10 if .58 turns out being a good release. Most people I played with abandoned ship around .55/.57 but have recently started to want to play again.

I'm not saying it's fully balanced but it's so much better than 57. I played 57 tonight and never left berezino yet had an akm + drum mag + 2 30 round mags and an ak74u+mags minutes after I respawned. In exp. since the last update I'd say I've played 10 hours and I'm thrilled to finally have a magnum (before that I had a shotgun.) Obviously there's still some balancing to do but 58 is vastly superior to 57 despite everything.

Went back to stable for the night as there was only 6 servers for me on exp and they were all full. Felt like such an experimental bore. Every two seconds I seemed to be saying "yeah in experimental..." .57 is a joke but it's also a bit of fun. You die and 3 minutes later you are fully geared again. There's people with silenced ak74's who have probably never been to the nwaf. It's insane but only fun for a very short time. What annoyed me the most was the random noises (eating/ammo splitting.)

Yep I think it's something along those lines guys. More weird stuff, he's not bleeding after the two shots. His clothes are ruined is all. There's the flash of blood as he's shot but no bleeding afterwards as he's running away. I wonder if the axe hit killed him and he rag dolled into the room people used to get stuck in at the police station. I think it's just a combination of bugs but, at the time, I thought maybe he was glitching because he runs at that wall so intently. I was sure I could hear footsteps after he disappeared but another different guy appeared nearby 30 seconds later so I don't know (I didn't shoot at that guy btw - did aim but never pulled the trigger.) I kind of consider police stations as military locations so tend to shoot first ask questions later. p.s. right at the start of the vid you can see the guy running towards the station. At the time, I didn't even notice that :shameface:

I'd probably do the same if I got that spawn tbh. I've only spawned there once and couldn't figure out where I was for ages ran around the entire island before I realised. He wanted either you kill him so he gets a fresh spawn or that he knocks you out and gets your gear. From his pov it was a win win. His worst option was to eat a steak and swim to the coast with no gear.

Just played a couple of hours first person on DayZ DE 0-2 (Experimental/Unstable) - Had zero major issues apart from not being able to speak german.

Yes they should test more servers and for longer. Limiting the test to less people and for a shorter period of time is asking for trouble.

So it's thoroughly tested. Typically lootspawn issues only surface after 3 days. Same with a lot of other issues in the past. To give something hours of testing rather than days is risky. I remember a release being similarly pretty great in exp then they fixed one last thing the night before, gave it 12 hours testing then released it to stable the next day. Turned out the fix had broken plenty of other stuff. People left in hordes. Act in haste, repent at leisure.

hit the same button you used to equip it. i.e. if 1 is your axe button, hitting 1 will put it back again. If that's too much for you then I don't know.

I think it's more like a little bit of light-hearted trolling. Either way it's given me a laugh. As you said hopefully come 1.0 trucks/helis are a lot more difficult to farm in the future

You don't collect every hat because they "they're there." I think what you are doing is totally legitimate even if it is to troll but I think the "Because they're there." answer is a little weak. You don't cut down every tree because it's there etc. I've got to guess it a troll and i'm cool with that. I just hope in the future they don't make it so easy for people like you to just run around spawn points and get all the trucks. Hopefully by the time the full game comes out there will be so many possible spawn points than consulting a map will be useless - also hope they fix esp cheats for tents/trucks/crash sites etc (not accusing you but think that's maybe what happened to your camp the last time.) Anyway it's edge cases like you improve things so keep on keeping on, man.

Is one truck not enough? @you and thurman thurman had two (new) trucks at one stage and was driving one 1km then running back to the other and driving that 1km too just to try get two new trucks to his base that had already loads of trucks. That is madness imho. It's funny as hell that people are doing this but I just don't get it - is it you just don't want anyone else to test trucks or what? Why do you need more than one? I love the sks but I never dual carry two. Or try collect them all.

How many trucks can be on a server at the same time?

I've used the big green houses with the downstairs fireplace and the small one room brown house that you enter up a stairs. I've also seen the log cabin's fireplace used but it was buggy and the fireplace kit disappeared.
