I've 300+ hours and I'm already nostalgic for the neaf! I'm cool with whatever changes the devs make but I don't think we'll have players all over the map until vehicles. I think the neaf might be a good candidate for a random helicopter crash spawn site. In any case the layout of the land still makes it a great for squad v squad take and hold scenarios. -

I'll miss the neaf tbh. I think we'll have a lot of unintended consequences from this change. This whole thing of people should be forced away from the coast doesn't make sense to me. That's not reality as evidenced by so many major cities being ports and not in the middle of no where. I honestly think a lot of this "force everyone to the nwaf" is nostalgia for the mod. -

Then surely the whole 3pp genre of gaming is cancerous. It's a different game. What about 2d top down games? Are they cancerous too? Is pacman cancerous for instance? How about you first person zealots stop joining third person servers? I join servers all the time and there are 12 people then an hour later they are full. You first person zealots seem to expect instant gratification. And I say that as someone who hates 3pp games in general. -

The use of the terms babycore/lamecore has put me off playing 1st person. You can tell these people are angry because they don't play on their own designated servers but instead play on 3pp but in 1st person and die a lot. They are no different from people blaming hackers for every death. Go play cringecore. I don't want to play a game with crybabies who want to force a way of playing on everyone. I actually prefer 1st person games in every game ever but I'd prefer not to play with crybaby fascists and hardcore is where they play. -
for me with a lrs, it calms down pretty quickly after I stop running.

No you are not meant to be impressed. Calm down. It's normal to do the thing a place is famous for before it gets demolished or whatever. Like when CBGB shut down they had a concert celebrating it's history. All we did was the equivalent and I'll be fighting my ass off in the neaf all weekend. Oh and I'll be killed loads of times, if that's ok with you. I'd rather a wake for the neaf than spitting on its grave.

Yep the was an update rollback earlier but then it rolled back shortly afterwards. My pal and I just massacred a 6 man squad near the neaf for old times sake:D

Honestly, the neaf is by far my favourite place for a bit of pvp. I hope this is just a bug and part related to them fixing the wall glitching.

I'm no longer seeing masses of threads about people getting their gear stolen. From what I read one paid hack had implemented this, hopefully those [expletive]'s all got banned. And I'm hoping monday's update sees changes that'll make this hack impossible. Anyone had their gear stolen recently? Fair play to be and bi, I'm an old school pre-agile type of guy but that was as agile as fuck! -
I'd love to know the server specs/setup for exp. versus stable. Not saying it's all down to equipment but the devs are obviously more hands-on with the exp. servers. Or maybe they aren't.

Nope. You've misunderstood. You don't get random ctd on the first server you join. But if you leave that server and join another you might get a random crash after x minutes. To prevent the ctd when you leave a server, just restart the game if you want to switch servers.

It's against the rules to kick players who kill players. Many server admins have been known to restart/kick when they themselves have been killed. Join a group or head inland on emptyish servers would be your best bet for now. -
Apparently if you restart the game everytime you switch servers you won't have that problem.

There are no actual friendly servers no. Even if a server says "Friendly Server - No KOS!" murderers will join and kill. Try joining a clan. There's loads on here if you look in the right section. -

I used to think it was bs too. Then it happened to me. The combination of low fps and narrow fov will do it every time. Now that I'm able to generally get over 30fps in hardcore I don't experience it at all. It is a real thing though. -

I had similar i.e. 30-40 in the woods and then a crazy drops in cities. Drove me insane. Played another say 50 hours, tried all the options but then my pc started shutting down after 20 mins. Turns out it just needed a clean and what was happening was once the gpu started doing real work and producing heat it was basically just recirculating hotter and hotter air until it shut down to protect itself. So the op should open up their pc and give it a clean. Dayz was the only game to push my pc hard enough that it would overheat so much as to affect performance.

two different games imo. the first person evangelicals put me off hardcore even though I prefer 1st person to 3rd person as they are awful try hards. reminds me of the atheists on reddit. I don't believe in god but hearing some of those cringeworthy atheists I've started pretend to be christian. how about the first person moaners actually play first person instead of pussying out immediately and joining 3rd person? If enough of you actually played the way you profess to love then all hardcore servers would be full. -
Well we're obviously moving towards weather conditions affecting players. I don't see why a hat can't protect you from the sun as well as the rain.

Thing about exp. is all the servers are full. I think they could add another 10 and they'll still all be full. I'll deffo be in touch when i get back to stable though.

Is it basically a london server? I'm irish but play mainly with uk and dutch people. Back on topic, I think we're going to have good weeks and bad. Sometimes it won't make sense for them to patch some issue that'll automatically be irrelevant when they update the architecture. Short term pain v longterm gain. I'm fine with that but if I'm going to die by some script kiddie I think I'd prefer it happen in exp. I wish they'd add more servers though! It's a pity they don't allow people like you to run an exp server instead of running the stable branch.
