Have you reported this to the tracker? This is v.interesting intelligence. @OP Yes loot bombs are still a thing on persistent servers
-
It's a server issue. And usually affects all players on that server. A restart usually solves it. Been happening intermittently for quite a while.

Just seems like a lot more desync. Is it worth us adding this extra flag(and what is it?) or is that just for crashes? Yesterday, I was thinking "wow I'm so lucky, I'm getting none of the issues people are complaining about." but today desync is a major issue. Also I was playing with a pal and he was "this is unplayable atm" but it was fine for me then we switched servers and it was kind of unplayable for me but fine for him. Eventually we found a server that was just right:D but it's bizarre the way it worked. Unfortunately it's kind of hard to formulate a tracker ticket that covers that.

I've been made look like a total noob by lagged zombies appearing 10 metres away and then suddenly being behind me hitting me. Also I had a player run after me then appear to get stuck in a running animation and I shot twice, nothing happened then my friend shot once and then the play was dead. Thing is to me it looked like my pal killed the player but to him it looked like i killed the player. Seems to be a server based thing. I haven't done a ticket to the tracker as it's all kind of vague but yeah you are not the only one. Earlier today I was seeing all the complaints and thinking "wow it's working great for me" but not today. I'm not really getting crashes so is it worth adding that debug flag to the game or not and if so what is it?

reboot your pc, restart steam, verify game cache, try the game again

Same card as me and I had issues too. I was able to play other games fine but I'd play dayz for 20 minutes and then things would start to go wrong. Eventually the laptop would shut down after 20 mins but would be fine when I restarted. What I discovered was the card was shutting down to save itself from overheating. I opened the laptop up and cleaned out the vents/fan and now everything is fine. If I were you I'd open the laptop up, remove and clean the card/inside of laptop and check again. Also my laptop has integrated graphics but you can't use the integrated graphics at the same time as the dedicated gpu so maybe something has happened there. I've a feeling the card is fine and it's a software issue. Try reinstall the card from the original manufacturer's drivers. Meant to add that I and at least one of my friends have had odd hardware issues since the new battleye, corrupt files etc. So maybe the wrong file got corrupted.

I'll tell you what the real problem is: First person players who play on third person servers. The reason 1st person servers are generally barren is because these 1st person zealots don't support the play style they supposedly prefer. I've hundreds of hours in 1p and hundreds of hours in 3rd. They are different games. If you are incapable of seeing that then that's nobody's fault but your own. Dayz is about the only game I like as 3rd as well as 1st. I generally hate 3rd person games. Seems to me that a lot of first person players spend more time moaning on forums about 3rd person than trying to help out 1st person servers by actually joining and playing on them. If you think you have to play 3rd because everyone else is then you are part of the problem. Play the game you want.

I got this for the first time the other night and I too have recently switched to sdd. The sdd cp recommended I lower the pagefile size to min 200mb max 2gb and I believe this is what caused the error message. I have since set it back to windows managing the pagefile and haven't had the error since. I'd recommend you allow windows manage the pagefile (e.g. click system managed size.) The pros are you won't get error messages re memory, the cons are that you will write more to your sdd and therefore lower it's life expectancy.

What do you think will be the lifeblood of this game?

I find playing in a group of over 4 gets stupid. I generally play in a two. -
My first experience in 4 months

Tried to write a cv earlier, started typing, ended up with a shit cv...uninstalled word. -
I've spent more hours messing around with graphics settings in dayz/arma than I have playing some other games.

Yep noticed that at various barracks. Also had a thing when I first logged in where zombies where silent until their turn back at you.
-
I've been shot through a tree by a legit player but from the op it sounds like a mixture of cheats, glitches and bugs.

I'm not 100% sure but I think I remember being in a truck on server restart and rejoining where we had left off. It could've been we stopped and got out looking for a gas cannister though so I'm not sure either way. I reported it to the tracker anyway. Probably a dupe.
-
if you are driving a truck and the server goes down you will spawn back where you last got INTO the truck not where you were when the server restarted.

This happened to me when i went from exp back to stable. Worked for me first time but what I find solves be update issues most times is a simple reboot. The amount of time I've wasted in the past instead of just rebooting trying to fix various be issues is ridiculous.

Experimental Branch: 0.53 Discussion
freethink replied to boneboys's topic in PC Experimental Updates
Yep it killed my internet a few times. Kind of nostalgic. Could've been because I removed the 75ms filter. Was battleye even on in exp? I only played for an hour or so and then couldn't get back on a server so reverted to stable then a weird thing happened. I joined a server then dayz minimized and an dos style window popped up saying battleye was updating. It worked fine after that. How's the loot spawning in exp? I noticed some towns with absolutely nothing and others where it seemed like locusts had ripped through. -
If the constant threat of being killed by random assholes didn't exist I wouldn't be playing this game.

It's not the same as your forum login. You create it separately.

Please don't duck with the current 'Hardcore' mode.

It's obviously only the first of many options server owners will have. -
Oldschool DayZ Hardcore -- 1st person community with 2 servers
freethink replied to n4ttl's topic in Servers
Great server, great admins and a great community. Joined there at the start of december and haven't really wanted to play anywhere else since. -
hmm I'm guessing you pasted the url of the youtube page and not the link you get when you click on share as you can see above I managed to post it fine.
-
easiest just to click on share in youtube and paste that link into a post here then it'll embed automatically thus e.g. I posted

Just made two splints:cool: Try a few times and try different combinations of dragging rags to sticks and dragging sticks to rags. This was on a 30/50 server that'd been up about 3.5 hours
