  1. Then go play Arma II and mod the hell out of it? Just a thought. My personal opinion, is no. This isn't needed. It fractures the community to hell and back and makes it difficult for the developers to do their jobs due to complaints and bugs caused by admins who don't know wtf they are doing. Not only that, if opens up the source code to security vulnerabilities that will directly impact the game no matter if its on a private hive or not. Now with that said, I do understand what you are trying to accomplish with this and your goals. I used to run a little NWN2 server back in the day and had a great time coming up with events and such for my players. It was a blast for me and the players enjoyed them. Maybe a year or two after SA releases we can get something like this going due to player drop off and developement of Dayz 2 or something.
  2. This right here is bullshit. Implying that all people geared out (yourselves included) have to server hop for gear is wrong. Gotten everything I have by NOT server hopping. Just have to go up north to get it. Never had a problem with getting gear in the north even when friends are complaining they can't find anything in the south.

    Spawn suggestion.

    Problem is what if server A crashes? ok I join server B. Server B then crashes. Fuck now I'm screwed from playing for half an hour or until they bring server B back up which ever comes first. Or what about streamers that run into stream snipers that seem to follow them to different servers and have to change servers quite a few times to lose them? Nice try at the idea, but it just doesn't work well.

    How to cure a "healthy" status ?

    As someone who has had "healthy" for a long time now, yes I seem to be able to take more damage than normal. But that's probably due to the regen mechanic which when "healthy" is quite fast.
  7. I couldn't get the defib to work at all; conscious, unconscious, wounded, healthy, dead. It didn't matter. And nice to hear you guys will be moving on. Look forward to running into yall :)
  8. So, move to outside Elektro and away from Kamyshovo problem solved. You guys get more RP interaction and the new spawns get a chance to play a bit before being killed again. Plus you would even get to experiment on some of those escaped survivors that have been alluding you for some time.
  9. I actually like the RP aspect here. Makes sense in a strange way and would make for a great movie. Only problem I have is you guys seem to set up in the immediate area of new spawns. I would suggest moving a it farther down the coast say immediately outside elektro or Cherno. At least give the new spawns a chance to experience some of the game before slaughtering them. Otherwise all you're doing is basically spawn camping.

  11. Since most cereal is packaged in sealed plastic bags inside a cardboard box, makes sense to disinfect the outside given that pathogens would reside there if anywhere. Now a "damaged" cereal box might have holes in it thus increasing the chance the cereal itself is contaminated and increasing the chance of you getting sick from it. Disinfectant wouldn't really work now. So you put the cereal in some water and boil the whole thing to eliminate the pathogens. (Hint: This is where all that cooking equipment comes in). See how this works now? OP: I like the general premise you have and believe this is where the devs are taking the game. I can see drinking from wells having a lesser chance of pathogens, but still having a chance. As such, purifying any water source will probably be needed to eliminate any chance of getting sick. Not to mention the increased infected amount later on along with the AI tweaking will balance the issue out. And lets not forget the human element. Wells will make for great camping spot for those nasty bandits :)
  12. What you don't realize is that the feedback isn't the problem (usually), The problem is the reason for the feedback. The people complaining about the new spawn points don't like them for one reason. They now actually have to put effort behind getting firearms. They can't just spawn and have a firearm inside 5 minutes running either to Balota or Pavlovo. You have to travel a good distance and search along the way for gear instead of just grabbing all the "best loot" right away and shooting people. DayZ wasn't made to be easy. This change in spawn points reflects that.

  14. Devs are getting metrics right now by moving the spawns to see how players react. Its a good thing. I'll bet dollar to donuts that the mil spawns will be adjusted as time goes on and probably move around a bit as well. What I find amazing is that all those people would rather run to Balota when the majority of them are closer to the NEAF. Boggles my mind.

    Amazing thing is, if you run just a couple kilometers to the North/Northwest of the new spawns you find plenty of gear and food. Truely mind boggling I know. Stop running down the coast to electro/cherno/balota and expecting to find stuff along the way.

    No. The purpose of this, as you know, it to test stuff. Things will change dramatically with no warning. Get used to it and give constructive feedback or stfu already. The spawns aren't bad. The loot isn't bad. They are testing things to see how it will work out.

    Because the purpose of the game being out in ALPHA is to test stuff on a large scale. I dunno just a thought.

  21. Thank god you don't have all the spawns listed. Maps like these totally ruin the excitement from finding loot on your own.

    For you it might be, but for me playing solo right now its fits my playstyle. "Groups" right now aren't venturing that far north for various reasons. Experienced solo players are though which is perfect for me.

    I didn't say populated. I said it gets some action. :) I can normally patrol around NWAF and find someone every 15-30 minutes or so. We're sneaky up north. Gotta think that way to catch anyone. Hehe If you're used to the shit storm that is Balota/Cherno, what I consider "often" and "some action" would seem like a ghost town. *shrug* I prefer fighting people that seem experienced and geared over new spawns with axes and maybe an M4/Mosin with 1 reload.
