Launcher? For Vanilla Dayz? Maybe I am missing something. Why fragment the few servers with another launcher? Shouldn't the Steam DayZ:Mod show Vanilla servers by default? I know Squadron has good intentions. But it's so much easier to just install DayZ:Mod from Steam and select your server. And that launcher signature is invalid.

That is configurable by the server admin. DayZ has it on enabled by default.

This happened to a friend and I while he was streaming last night. Watched him teleport above the tree's going east, next thing he was behind me unloading an M4, then teleporting to my friend and killing him also. Respawned about 200m from where I died to see him again teleporting above the tree's and killing my friend and I once again. Usually hackers/script kiddies go into full server from what I have seen. If we play a lower pop server we rarely run into them at all.

I played for about six hours before the patch and never experienced and FPS drop or crashing. Out of the six or seven of us playing together, 4 experienced the fps nightmare. We were trying to go through everyone's hardware/settings and to maybe see if there might be a pattern but there was none. So I can resume sucking Rockets man pole..................Good job Rocket!!

But there are the US Military satellites and private sat's. Everyone thinks that the US Military is the only one with junk in the sky. There are hundreds up there besides the 24 the Navy/Air Force has. And basing my knowledge of the newest gen of sat's that I've used in the military. They do not lose time at that rate. And all it takes is one GPS reciever to turn on, and the user to adjust the time and the sat's correct the time. It may take a while for them to adjust but they will eventually correct themselves. We used privately owned sat's in Iraq with our equipment when our where out of site. And they would adjust accordingly to the time set on our receivers . As for power. No, I said they "MAY" need correction if one does go of path there is a shit ton to take its place. Do they need maintaining. No. They would still work for a long ass time after we are dead. No, I can't agree with you. Because we just don't know yet. There is no timeframe, Mother Nature would be controlling the sat's in an apocolype. And of course I made all this up.....

There is not much info on maintaining satellites. As they are pretty much self-sufficient now. As the GPS is controlled most by the government, "my employer". The last gen sat's did require a station to send a signal because of the GPS's clock to make sure time was synced via the atomic clock. But most of the handheld have there own "atomic" clock, usually a quartz clock that can do it themselves now. Also the military uses NAVSAT that they have to upload signal for orbit correction if needed. We the consumers use the GPS sysytem. Military operate on the same frequency but have other uses such a missile navigation , and others. But as far as maintaining there really is no real maintenance required other then turning on our handheld GPS. But they would eventually go off path and get less accurate but GPS would still work for quite a long time. Enough to make them viable in game. But I like the old analog watch method....Or use the stars.

Your position is provided by the satellites themselves. Your handheld GPS, car gps is the antenna so to speak.

Used to be that way a decade ago but now the 30 plus satellites themselves provide constant positioning data amongst themselves. And they are trapped in orbit by Earth's gravitational pull.
