It's all about steam family sharing No need to buy another dayz copy and both of you play on your own steam accounts, so everyone got his own character. Just google it, you need to join a group and get an email when you have been added to the beta. Got my email today, my brother can play on his laptop now and we only paid once! Really good stuff

Am I the only one who can't survive for a longer period? :| I had a backpack earlier with a bunch of stuff but someone killed with no reason. When I respawned I luckily got to the military base where I found some decent stuff but no axe or any other weapon zombies came and killed me :(

How can I start with a new character? I'm new to this game, only way I know is dying and then starting from sratch?

I'm locked in a hallway, there are stairs and a door upstairs which is locked and downstairs there are two locked doors. No way out for me it seems..

I know this is the alpha version but I entered a house and 3 zombies came in. I killed the first one and attacked the next one and magically teleported to another house. I have a axe as my weapon but I shooted with it (lol). Weirdest part is that I'm now locked in a house and can't leave. :| How can I start with a new character? Thanks for the responses Someone posted a map in my other thread, how do I know where I am ? Or are you always in the same area when you die and start a new game?

1. Every person I met, had a backpack, where did they get them from? 2. I spend an hour going through houses and couldn't find a bottle, any tips on that? 3. Can you open doors or fridges? I'm totally new to this game, so sorry for the nooby questions!

Haha yeah :) I used to only play FUT as I absolutely love football and this is my first non-football related game after years :D

Thanks guys, appreciate it. I'm not the guy to watch others play tbh, rather play it on my own :P Should I walk on the streets to find more towns and cities. As I said in the OP I became lost in the forest, any way to prevent that?

Hey guys :) I bought Dayz standalone today, started to play and obviously had to get to know the control and stuff.. I entered the first building where I immediately found weapons such as a knife and a baseball bat (I think it was a bat) I could not pick them up to save my life, this sounds so embarrassing but I simply couldn't. I tried every button.. After that I just became lost in the lanscape.. Needless to say that I died at the end I am, as you can tell, a complete noob in this game but I love the idea of it. Can anyone help me out how to pick up things and in general some tips for a beginner like me. Thanks and please don't hate on me, I just want to play this game as you :) Cheers
