  1. If you Take KOS out of the game it removes all the tension about going anywhere... Zombies are barley a threat at the moment, so of course were going to fear the players more.

The day in the life of an utter expert

Why are you talking to yourself in a forum post?

While it would be awe inspiring to say the least to witness such greatness in action, but i fear technology sufficient enough to capture such skill does not yet exist :(

I can't believe how many people are getting offended by this post. Truly there jealousy knows no bounds. I for one feel both enlightened and humbled by Mooky's tale and Itchy's heroism. and shall spread the word of their deeds. My hat off to you both (as my ability to wear multiple hats pales in comparison to Itchy's, but a man can dream) keep up the expert skills guys, future generations need hero's like you to be inspired.
  5. If they are facing me with a weapon but haven't seen me, i'll either stay hidden and let them pass by, or if they are a threat, get to a better vantage point and Blam!! however, if they are facing away with a weapon lowered, i'll hold them up, but if at any point they raise the weapon, try to move, or turn around, BLAM!!! I'll always hold people up first unless the threat is too high. running around with the friendly flag is too risky and asking to get shot if you ask me.

    Attaching map peices

I've heard this is, or will be possible. If it is, does anyone know how? or can someone confirm if it is or will be in the game? Sorry if this has already been asked, couldn't find anything under map on the search. cheers!
  7. It's a good idea, promotes good game play and is constructive so go for it. I'm not sure how you plan to identify KOS'ers however without anyone actually having to die or get shot first though. While i don't KOS myself, i have nothing against people who do as it add's good tension in game play.
  8. aside from probably needing a cash injection to continue development in a timely manner the reason Day Z SA has been released in it's Alpha stage is for extended testing by players, and also to help sate the appetites of the fan's itching to play.. not to appease new time players with 0 experience.. there are plenty of warning explaining what stage the game is in.. buggy and advisable not to play for those who will be frustrated by continued character wipes and such you can't complain about a lack of features in a game that isn't finished...

    My first hostage experience

Was amazing to say the least. I spent a good hour trying to track down a friend of mine on a fairly decently geared character, we eventually met up in Zelenogorsk where we hunted for gear and food. I proceeded to stuff my face in the supermarket to get the healthy status when from behind me i hear "drop your weapon now, or your dead" I made a bit of a noob error and turned around to face the guy holding me up. But i guess as i was only holding a box of cereal at the time, that was enough reason for him to not gun me down there and then. He told me to drop my gun and get on the floor, which i complied with after weighing my options. I was seemingly surrounding, seeing another 3 guys pass by while they tailed my friend who had opened fire on the guys outside. When pressed, i denied knowing the guy outside and claimed that i was simply passing through on my way north. After several minutes and a lot of gun fighting outside, i was still alive, so i figured they had other designs for me aside from just my gear. One of the guys runs back inside bleeding, and i offered to bandage him if they let me live. They accepted, i was a good few steps away from my gun and there were now two of them with me, so they had no reason to doubt my intentions. After the noise outside quieted down, their team regrouped and they discussed what they were going to do with me, when i chimed in and asked if i could possibly join with them. I made a point of proving my trustworthiness and i continued on with these guys for a good few hours. I introduced my friend, who was kitted with a new set of clothes and we had a blast, we went from town to town, looting, holding up others, and fending off KOS'ers. That was the best and most tense experience i've had between the standalone and the mod, i can't wait to have more like it. I made some new friends, probably a few enemies and survived for another day of day z :)
  10. That's the risk you take.. you could very well have done the same to them when you had an opportune moment.

    Every survivors looks military

I don't think it's that people are trying to look like soldiers.. it's just military grade gear happens to have either more slots for loot or just generally be more useful... like Mercules stated.. why where a flash orange raincoat when i could where a camo pattern jacket that blends into my surrounding (making me more survivable) and potentially has more loot slots..
  12. @ alleycat - you seem to be making a lot of assumptions based off of bad experiences... Playing the game show's it's own rewards and punishments naturally which is exactly how it should remain. if i go around killing every player i see without question, i fully expect to have the same treatment shown towards me.. if i see other players with guns looting a town.. i don't just run up to them with my weapon drawn expecting them to play nice.. i'll observe them and see what they do.. only once i know enough about them and what kinda people they are would i ever dare approach them.. gathering intel before making decisions is a hugely important thing.. if you get killed in a stupid fashion don't blame the game.. it's doing what is designed to do.. and that is allowing you to make your own mistakes.. so just learn from your bad experiences and play a little more smart.
