I was asking myself : "Why is there a Hive ?" ; "What is the Hive for ?" ; "Do we need a Hive to play DayZ ?" There would be no server hopping if every server would have its own database (like other games). I don't wanna grouse here, just asking this question myself very seriously. I was really trying to find reasonable answer which makes sense, but i couldn't. So do you guys have a reasonable answer ? or a point which i was just missing ? What do you think about it ? Beans for everyone, Ozar !!!

all i have to say. LIVE FREE or TRY DYING. I would never let handcuff myself. i rather die than to be a slave of your f****** up will. Yeah right you just wanna loot my items. i don't think so. You guys are doing the sick stuff. Raping dead bodies and forcing people to eat shit for no reason, just because you can laugh about that kind of stuff. you guys are so discusting. I have a deeply aversion against that kind of player. just fucking sick people I rather die than lettin you do what you sick mind is telling you to do.

I didn't used it in such a way till now, but i can totally understand that people appreciate that feature and that's totally cool. I am more like the wolf in the shadow staying away from trouble, i am there but nobody is noticing. I am watching :). All the answers and impressions where great in this thread and i thank for that. I have more an idea of what people think about the Hive.

Well. For me, you are not right. I don't want that, i don't want to change anything, i love DayZ like it is. But sometime i was taught to ask Questions.( even to myself, "did i do the right thing" bla bla bla ). I was coming to no point for myself in this question and was willing to share it with this forum to get new views, you know. But I am very surprised how different some opinions (and experiences) are.

@symptom: i dindt make the thread to complain or anything just wanna know the reason that you mentioned in your first sentence, you know. i am just asking myself, you know. still love this game. So far, i get the feeling the hive is only to save people from being stuck on a server with people that are cheating, hacking and exploiting. well if that is the reason for a hive , i think its ok :).

@AmirDayz That was a good answer. I think you are Right and i am still searching for "my Homeworld". and it will problably be one with a private hive. read this guys: true words - makes me sad :( man i would love to play in a community.

What i mean is: you can just play on ONE server ( or you have 2 PCs ). There is no reason to change to a server which has the same map , same rules. not like in for example BF where you can say"man, i wanna play pistol/knife only in metro" or kind of that stuff.

i cannot think of this as a feature. It just open the doors to every aspect of server hopping. thats my conclusion too. IT ADDS NOTHING. its just pointless. I mean what is a feature to be able to change server with the character ? Its the same world , with the same rules !

Yeah i know. But what was the intension to have a official Hive ? Is there any positive thing to have a official hive ? ok that is maybe one point, and thats it or can you find one more aspect.

I wanna say something to it too. There are a lot of legendary Games which had a bad ass long dev-time. Look at "Black & White" i think it was a dev-duration of 12 Years. -
Hi, i can understand you very well. But let me say something as a long long experienced PC Gamer. DayZ is not just another game. Dayz is one Game in a List where just very few are. For me it already became a legend. Almost every Game released in the past 10 years is a remake or just f***** boring after 30 Minutes of play because its all the same. Total War is an epic Game ( almost legendary ) ( i know this depends on the taste ). I wish you great time with it ( I had an awesome time ) BUT Come back to DayZ , you will miss something great if you will not come back.
