Being Stuffed You can also eat and drink too much and overfill your stomach. Once you see these messages, if you keep eating or drinking, you're probably going to end up vomiting. My stomach feels absolutely stuffedI feel over-fedMy stomach feels much more full then it's normalI am close to vomitingI think I'm going to vomit...I'm going to vomit... I find M4's more than I find pistols. It took me 2 days to find a mag for my pistol too even though I had 80 .45 rounds on me, lol. Me and a friend did a run last night from Balota north through the military camps to NWAF, across Devil's Castle, Black Mountain, to NEAF and back across the map direct to Zelenogorsk and we didn't see a Magnum or any rounds for it, but we only changed server 3 times, guess the real server hoppers have more luck maybe. Will dayZ standalone get more expensive?
MrNomadic76 replied to wee_l's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
No, you have the full game now, regardless of what gets added. -
I like the whole micromanagement side of the inventory, it reflects a true to life need to rearrange things to fit them in like when you go on holiday or pack your shopping bags, you have to pack things in a way that makes best use of the space available, which may be quite difficult in a situation where you have the undead coming at you or 5.56 rounds pinging off the wall you're hiding behind. What you want is to throw stuff on top of your bag or case and it just settles into the limited space available as if by magic, or crazy luck. The thing with DayZ SA is, it's not meant to be easy, you are meant to make life easier for yourself by arranging your pack in a way that allows things to slot in rather than throwing stuff in any which way and then having to rearrange each and every time you want to add stuff. Personally, and call me anal if you like, I try to keep things in order. Currently I have 3 stanag mags in my pants, canteen, bandages and morphine in my hoodie, pistol in my tac vest with another stanag mag and loose .45 rounds, and my pack is arranged with all food together, canned drinks next to that, pills, painkillers, charcol tabs next to them with a first aid kit and a defrib on the bottom. I have 4 empty spaces ready to drop another first aid kit or something of the same footprint into and try and keep a long space free down the sides for more mags or water bottles or vertically shaped items, just so I don't have to spend any time rearranging. You should really be checking this and rearranging after every loot run through a town so you don't get caught short. Once you get into this practice you'll find you will do little rearranging on the fly. Also, if you're in a group you should designate each person to carry the majority of each thing, food, medi's, ammo, while keeping a basic ration of each type for yourself. If you're lone wolf, you need to realise you can't take everything with you, prioritize.

Birds Flying in Sky, part of engine or something else

If it was a human I'd imagine they wouldn't circle you, rather hover above you and move randomly. If it was constantly circling it would seem to be by design. -
Blood tip for beginners and everybody
MrNomadic76 replied to victusmortuus's topic in New Player Discussion
A good suggestion, but you need 2 IV kits, meaning 2 First aid kits, and those don't grow on trees, which is a shame, as there are sh*tloads of trees. -
DayZ should have always been hardcore mode, period. Although I like watching streams, it irks me when they are standing behind a wall watching where other players are going over the top of it, but I can also see how that provides more info on a given situation for the viewer. If I had the hardware to stream, I'd stream in 1st person in a no 3rd person server (obviously they don't exist yet in standalone but I hope they will). Oh and it's nearly xmas, so if someone wants to provide that hardware, I'll dedicate my first stream to you. BTW, where did you quote that from, I want to read, linky plz.

Anyone else randomly dying?
MrNomadic76 replied to muggerfugger (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Did it say your were dead or unconcious? Did you eat any rotten fruit or maybe have a chug on some disinfectant? There are many things that can cause sudden loss of consciousness but sudden death I'm not so sure, besides, any health issues would be hinted at (quite blatantly) in the messages you receive at the bottom left of the screen. -
It was working in the original release, then it seemed to get broken in the next patch, hasn't worked for me since, and I sooo want to write a journal of my adventures as I go, so if I get killed the person who discovers my body / murdered me can read my journal, and hopefully feel really bad for me, lol.

Ghosting,Loot Farming (server hopping),Combat Logging. Possible Solution.
MrNomadic76 replied to pvt_ammo@hotmail.com's topic in General Discussion
I just think your suggestions require a number of algorithms to be run by the central hive for each and every log in / log out, which will inevitably have an effect on performance, so everyone suffers, even legit players. I know players will just move out of the exclusion zone to log out but better that than laying down at the back of a barracks and swapping servers 5-10 times to get fully kitted. Running a minimum of 3km each time you want to check the same loot spot would be enough to put me off, that's for sure, especially if there was a chance to run into players enroute each time, kind of defeats the object of easy loot, no? -
Please no...... Although the ability to use HAM radio would be cool.

There needs to be a viable alternative to YouTube, I'm getting tired of Google and all the dramas they've created lately. Even a site dedicated to gaming videos where the game companies sell licenses to stream their content or take a percentage of ad revenue. All users are forced to declare what their game footage is of and upon upload the video would fail to process if either option was not enabled. I don't know, I just think it's time Google stopped getting rich off other people's hard work and the gaming industry and it's customers reaped the rewards instead.

Ghosting,Loot Farming (server hopping),Combat Logging. Possible Solution.
MrNomadic76 replied to pvt_ammo@hotmail.com's topic in General Discussion
In DayZ Epoch a lot of servers have safe zones around traders that don't allow firing of weapons or logging out, surely this can be adapted to create an exclusion zone around high value loot areas that do not allow logging out within a given radius of the loot zone and if anyone ALT F4's within an exclusion zone the database checks position and if inside said zone they are then spawned in a random area anywhere on the map upon logging back in. At least this way all players are forced to move out of an area to change server and in turn forced to travel back into a zone negating the benefits of server hopping as there's still a risk that you'll encounter other players on your trip back into a zone, or out. Of course server restarts would need to have warnings giving players ample time to move away from an area in time for a restart. Say the radius was 1.5km around military camps and 2.5km around airfields (due to their larger area), when you come within that radius you'd receive a warning like 'You have entered an exclusion zone, logging out not permitted' and conversely, 'You have now left an exclusion zone, you are free to log out'. Just my 2 cents/pennies/pesetas. -
Bloodbags fill 20% blood, use a saline bag to restore to full blood.

###Question### What you like about the Standalone>>??
MrNomadic76 replied to Aussie Bogan's topic in General Discussion
GOD RAYS Amen. Need them with the moon too tho, not as powerful but there at least. All in all though, the game looks gorgeous, far beyond what I expected, the streams and screenies before release didn't do it justice. -
I'm willing to bet the guy that shot you has an inferiority complex in real life. And lives with his gran.

What is up with all the ingame swearing and banditry ingame?
MrNomadic76 replied to desryachri's topic in General Discussion
If people are doing this sort of thing to you instead of just shooting you they probably want a bit of roleplay, so instead of whining to them, play the game, play the part of someone who is genuinely scared for their life, they may choose to do something to you that gets their rocks off and let you go, then you can stalk them and get revenge, or just carry on about your business. Remember that someone telling you to stop and get down was pretty much replaced with a bullet to the cranium in the mod so sounds like progress to me. -
I found both my Red Dot and my ACOG sights up in the tent city at the western end of NWAF, in particular, the 2 story camo lookout bunkers seem to be good places.

I personally think Guns Should be Even more Rare or... We should have more improvised weapons
MrNomadic76 replied to leviski's topic in General Discussion
I think military grade weapons, once all weapons are in the game, should be super, super rare, with more domestic weapons becoming the commonly used gear. Shotguns, revolvers, 9mm's, and hunting rifles being spawned in particular buildings. I feel this game has a chance to go further than the mod did and allowing everyone to run around with DMR's, AS50's and M249's doesn't encourage close up, balls to the wall firefights, instead you get killed without even knowing half the time where the shot came from. Everyone should have an even chance or at least less chance of being sniped from 800m out. -
Coming from a different survivor story, tell me the story of DayZ...
MrNomadic76 replied to Simmal (DayZ)'s topic in New Player Discussion
As far as knowing where you are at any given time goes, after a while you will recognise landmarks that will help you pinpoint where you spawned, that comes with experience. In the meantime, find a map you can have open in your browser, one that shows clearly the topography of the terrain (hills, contours, ravines), and also placement of buildings so you can compare what you see in game with the map. Also, for direction finding, there are many tutorials on how to do this online, like learning to read the stars to find north (yes the stars are true to life, unlike in that previous abomination you've been playing). Oh it's cloudy? Tip: The clouds always move east. Bullet physics are realistic in this game, one well placed shot will kill you outright, a spray and pray burst may have you leaking claret from all over and you'll either die from bloodloss or you'll fall unconcious and a zombie gets a free meal. A Saline bag will restore your blood fully but you will need an IV kit to combine it with and a friend to administer it. A bloodbag however, will only restore 20% of your blood, so treat this as a temporary fix if you're already really low. If you die your respawn point is random, mainly on the coast but I've occasionally spawned inland, although this is rare. Starting again with nothing is what makes DayZ what it is, I've been kitted up to the nines with fantastic gear many, many, times only to be killed because I took my eye off the ball for a split second. First rule of DayZ; Don't get attached to your gear, it's merely on lease. My personal second rule of DayZ; treat every corner like there's someone waiting around it who spotted you 10 minutes ago. And 3rd one to be sure; Don't get spotted, use cover, don't skyline yourself, move in short bursts scanning the area constantly, if you don't have TrackIR you should be putting much strain on the ALT key. Good luck. Edit: For any weapon you need a magazine to put the rounds in before putting it in the gun itself. With the M4 and the Mosen, you can chamber one round 'into the breach' but then that gives you one shot, so make it count. -
Health system - How many bullets does it take
MrNomadic76 replied to Chukozy's topic in General Discussion
Serves you right for being a filthy bandit, lol. If you'd maybe tried talking to them from cover they may have welcomed you into their group and you'd be writing here now about an awesome adventure you all went on. But you shot them, and you aren't, your loss. -
Expect FPS drops in certain parts of the map, the game hasn't been optimized yet so framedrops are to be expected.
