Rocket standing down from Dayz by end of year
Leviathan-LoneWolf replied to Hetstaine's topic in General Discussion
well he's just trying to calm down the shitstorm that is rolling in. Consequences of announcing "things" that should better be unheard by the majority of the DayZ com. thought he knew that by now. it's not about being a good or bad guy. si tacuisses... -
Rocket standing down from Dayz by end of year
Leviathan-LoneWolf replied to Hetstaine's topic in General Discussion
I'm taking guesses because the lead designer and inventor of dayz just stated that he will retire from it. Apparently he's getting disappointed/bored/whatever to it. to veil that fact he talks about being home-sick, over critisizing and open to the community. yeah thx. just finish your game and bail out afterwards, if you please. if he can't believe in his own product how could I? This alpha success was on a huge part founded on he trust that Dean will believe in what he does, he knows what he does and he will finish dayz. now when will dayz be finished? have a guess... do you really believe that a game will ever be polished after this has been anounced during bloody alpha? :) -
Rocket standing down from Dayz by end of year

So he's already opting to back off a game that most probably won't be finished and definitely not polished by the end of this year? So, I suppose he grabbed enough money by now. Wow. Can't say how much I am disappointed by this. Because I laid big hopes into DayZ becoming a formidable game. I must say I lost a big share of this. After all DayZ is his baby. It just seems bloody wrong to leave it before it might have reached maturity. I always laid trust into Dean to have the will and endurance to finish what he has started. Seems like he hasn't. If he really leaves DayZ before it's f**ing done...just...wow. Bad style. -

FPS Drops after 30 seconds then Game Freezes
Leviathan-LoneWolf replied to chysgoda's topic in General Discussion
just drop your flickering items and begone. http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/172310-new-patch-memory-leak-possible-fixworkaround/ see here. It worked for me. Dropped some can of beans...that's all. No magic involved. -

Walker, Texas Ranger (the African Canadian version)
Leviathan-LoneWolf replied to Grimey Rick's topic in Gallery
yesterday I tried a combat knife I found. First of all it seems to be used like a improved fist fighting instrument. What the...? Is that intended? my char did not slash it but tried to club the Z with it no matter i raised stance, aim toggle on or whatvever. Then it did like zero damage. zombie woman was laughing at me. shameful display. back to the axe then. -
I am a complete coward in this game
Leviathan-LoneWolf replied to PinguAlmighty's topic in New Player Discussion
very good. cowards survive the war while heroes get shot. Thi game should be about survival and having fear is a key component of it. -
SKS are abundant. As M4s were back in the early days. Finding an M4 now can be a tedious task (as it should be. Everyone used themplenty of times by now.) I think it's fine to have the opportunity to easily find a newly introduced weapon. It's still all about testing them. Spawn will be lowered later on. BTW anyone else noticed the new B95 has a "glowing" iron sight improvement? Nice little feature in the dark ;) Stylish gun anyway, but way inferior to the SKS.

New Patch Memory Leak: Possible fix/workaround
Leviathan-LoneWolf replied to antykain's topic in General Discussion
now, that sounds like a possible solution. had a whole stack of flickering stuff in my backpack while experiencing the lag. As no other workaround did the job, I'm gonna give this one a try. thx. -
Lower Fall Damage for Alpha Plz
Leviathan-LoneWolf replied to Arcon (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
don't use ladders while moving. stand still, recruit. an please...fall damage stays where it is (suposed to be) -
FPS drop can happen almost everywhere. It's not related to your chars location. Nor does it seem to be related to the weather condition. Experienced it during rain/dry condition Interesting. Might just give it a try on night time then. Seems like we'll have to wait for monday until they can hotfix this issue, so Im grabbing for every little chance i can get to play the game until then!

yepp! you can't state this fact often enough. AKs work in every possible environment (sure they can into space, too) They might be outclassed by modern ARs in every possbile way...considering reliability and maintenance they are hard to beat. Just look at the trouble German soldiers have with the G36 in Afghanistan, while poor Talibs pre-1980 AK still works like a charm. remember it's a post-apocalyptic setting in a post-Soviet state. Grab the AK!

Rain -> FPS drop (it is not the rain, but still FPS drop )
Leviathan-LoneWolf replied to zv0n3's topic in General Discussion
memory leak. Happens on servers without rain, too.
