Picking up Loot https://youtu.be/U_GSXHrp678 items go directly into left hand by default Or both hands if item is large , causing you to shoulder weapons like it does now , if you want to move items to pockets or backpack , you have to stop , kneel , (place backpack on ground animation / stance) and access inventory . ( alternatively search pocket animation if no backpack equipped ( as seen in Arma 3 ) This idea could also open the door to the possibility of dual wielding in a way Weapon in right hand , loot items in left, Of course you would take a severe hit to stability if trying to aim said weapon. Since sway and recoil would be greatly increased if holding a gun in one hand and trying to hip fire . -
Need an update or confirmed persistent storage items for 59 Tents barrels ammo boxes pots/ pans protector case dry bag backpacks In house dressers Which ones are persistent , which ones last 15 min , which last several hours ?

My suggestion has always been to fix multiple issues at once. By simple changing the way we access inventory and loot on the fly. i think it should be that when you access inventory you stop , drop to one knee and open your back back on the ground in front of you , If no backpack equipped , Then simply stop and a animation of searching pockets, This will make the Hotbar all the more important for quick access to certain items . You could remove the ground view window entirely , But if forced to stop and play an animation during inventory access it would make looting on the fly very cumbersome, and not really work as it does now. As to the loot spawning underground,. we fix this by opening the door to chaos, Simply add a small amount of physix to the spawn system . When Items spawn into the map , have them spawn in a few feet above ground and let them drop , using the same physics as when players drop items (H) . This will keep everything on the ground, and also allow for no two items to ever really spawn in exactly the same place twice , due to the ability of those items to fall , bounce , roll around on the floor. Would also help add to the "trashy" look of how these houses should look in the environment Now i already know what the trolls will say.. This is not a combat friendly solution... So last night we were fixing up our first car. Had only the two rear tires left to find. So we tried to drive it to a city . Drove car for about 75m, spun out , rolled backwards for about 25 meters. Car stopped, I turned it off, I got out , Stood there for a second ,YOU ARE DEAD (empty server) Few tears , and cussing the game gods, I stayed on while my friend looked for my body.. Could not find it. 10 minutes of looking around the car. moving the car and so on, While i stared at the black You Are Dead screen. Finally settled into the fact I just lost my VSS . I respawned. Logged in about 10 feet from where the car was , with all my gear still on me. Worst / best bug ever :(

It kinda is come to think of it . We had started our night by running the coast line to look for netting and to meet up. I died by tripping over a small rock. ( My friend was able to save my gear ) Then , right after the OP event took place I server hopped to loot electro for another tire. (two other people on that server) Found a tire, exit the shed , Someone fires off a shot right next to my head and missed. I run,.. and i do mean RUN full speed out of town. Dude chasing me , tell me to stop , he doesn't want to shoot me, ..... while firing a high cap AR at me .... dude chased me from Electro to right past the mountain between Elec and Chern . Always too close to risk dropping the tire and pulling my rifle ( Because of the stupid animations DEVS ! ) With in at least 80 shots fired he only hit me once, and it didn't hurt.. so i dunno what he was using , couldn't aim for sht . After I hit the woods he didnt follow me in , so i didnt get a chance to return fire , I switched back to our server. He had slightly damaged my Smersh vest but not my backpack.. So I guess i got shot in the ass ?

In basic terms , Crossbow bolts avg 6 8 inches, have two feathers on the fletching , and the ( pointy end ) either uses a flat arrow head or bullet shaped tip. Also due to the force , the bolts are typically much thicker Arrows avg between 2 and 3 feet depending on various factors for intent and design . are thinner and have a much wider array of tips to choose from . Traditionally use 3 feather fletching on most arrows , occasionally 4, again , depending on purpose Their is really no reason at all we should not have an option to craft xbow bolts from sticks , using the exact same mech as arrows. My guess is the art dept just didnt finish on time , or it was just put off till later

Agree 150% I really like the current system , Except for the slotting arrows in hot bar part. Would rather it simple be [R] that reloads them one at a time . And we REALLY need a quiver soon. Packing 10 or more arrows eats up WAY too much space. And while we are on the subject.. DEVS! craftable crossbow bolts would be nice any day now. As is ,. i never use the xbow... hardest weapon in the game to keep ammo for....

Green mountain summer camp makes a much more entertaining spot for trade shops. Thats where we normally set up ours on private servers. Allows for people to set up shops or camp in the little cabins too

You know its a good day when you clear all of Electro and cherno with nothing but a bow and Derringer Was NOT as easy as you would think. This gun has no reload animation , and I think they altered the aim on my bow. Kept missing my head shots

And for all those country kids out there . Like myself , Who KNOW what its like to ride your bike down a road while being chased by that one guys dogs biting at your ankles and tires.. WE will FINALLY have a game that simulates that momentary horror lol. Wolf packs chasing you on your bike.. Hitting a wild hog on your dirtbike causing you to flip off and crash.. Looting a house to come out and get charged and chased by a pistoff bull ? YESSSSSSSSS All while avoiding zombies wanting to eat your face, and psychopathic murdering looking to shoot anyone who moves.. Trying not to starve to death , or break a leg walking over rocks, Being forced to walk for miles through high danger zones cause your packing too much gear back to camp.. THATs what DayZ is all about ,.

That was my point, For those moments in game , when our ability to craft items , hasnt been taken advantage of .. WE are squishy sacks of pork chops. I can already envision the over all change in game play something like this will bring. Imagine for a moment, that poor new spawn who decided to spawn , and run directly to a military base for assault rifles or to meet up with friends. Yea.. hes dead now. Or that guy who broke his leg falling out a tree stand. The guy who ran out of ammo fighting off a bandit and a few zombies, escapes to the woods for cover and safety, WOOPs .. They are dead too now. Or the hermits who hide away out in the woods fishing, growing plants and admiring all the horded loot they have in a tent. Go AFK to pee now? But mostly , think of all the ones who have never learned how to play this game with out being fully decked out in military gear.. Never mastered melee, or archery . Never learned to live with out the top tier gear. I imagine situations where wild predators will be ideally suited for picking off the players who are not ready to go into combat with full autos. I dont foresee taking on a wolf pack with a sharp stick and pistol with only 6 rounds left in it . After hanging out on experimental a bit , I have seen hints of content that could and probably will in the end result in a very hard to survive world. Just imagine if you will , when things like Stamina and weight and new body damage movement reductions really come into effect . I twisted my ankle just a week or two ago on experimental running along a river bed. I foresee in the future something like that drastically reducing my movement speed, which could turn really bad when you factor in zeds, players, And predators . I've always wrote them off as butt hurt PvPers, who still only want to see DayZ as an out of balance PvP game. Like so many of the mod servers turned into . Anything survival related , gets negative feed back from them,.

Umm.. dude? History lesson maybe ? Reality check .. 1.Wolves are predators . 2. We are not . ( take away our tech , we have no sharp fangs , no stamina , no horns.) we are prey animals basically 3. If you doubt 1 and 2 , I invite you to visit Alaska , to play and run with the wild wolves on their turf . I'm sure you will make great friends . FYI I've owned pet wolf mix and pure wild Coyotes before. To even say they can be tamed is a bit of a stretch . They can be somewhat domesticated , But they are always wild , and will only respect you IF you maintain an Alpha stance with in your little pack. Its obvious in DayZ humans are no longer the A-Pex predators in the world. Zombies took us down a few notches already. And as any camper,hunter,bushcraft survivalist will tell you . With out our nifty little toys , when in the woods, we aren't sht . Any wild predator that has not learned to fear us , will eat us . And why not. According to cannibals , we basically taste like pork. And dogs do love them some bacon,. Personally I wouldnt fear wolves as much in DayZ as WE should also fear wild hogs. They hurt more people each year than wolves do ,

What was the sound that spooked the elk ?? Listen to the video with the volume jacked way up . You kinda hear a gun shot and a woman scream ? My guess is that wasnt the hunter missing his shot, and from the direction of the elk looking, it seem to come from another direction . Damn devs with there hidden teasers

Aggressive wolves I can justify , possibly they are affected by the infection.. or maybe just starving now with all the added competition for resources . My real curiosity is , will they also kill other wildlife. and if so , will we have those rare moments of being able to witness these kills take place, then stealing the corpses from the wolves. Will the wolves be seen eating dead players, how will the two main predators wolves / zeds , interact. Will zeds ever chase cows and chicken ... THESE ARE the things I must see happen ! lol Have to admit , I had a small nerdgasim watching that video for the first time .

When can we expect the non lethal weapons ( dart & stun gun ) to be released ? Many of us are waiting for more less lethal defence options. Same question with Bows and other civilian items ?

What work / progress is exactly being done toward resolving the continuing dual core and low end system issues? What type of time frame are we looking at before we start to see work being done on stamina, stealth and other emersion aspects ? Would Slow zombies ( The walking dead style ) not be more practical in regards for development and server performance ?

Just found an old screen shot from my Dayz Mod server.. Still wish SA would have chosen this path in mapping . Looked so great . I remade the entire cherno map to look like this . So much more immersive.

Ok So I know this is in the wrong section , and needs to be put into a bug report. Problem is , there is so much involved , I dont really know how to break it down into smaller reports to address each issue properly . So i came here for advice on it . ... Issues in order When on Experimental with normal settings, I get FPS flux, my FPS never stays steady, Just goes from 1-20ish constantly , causing frequent client freezes that last for a second or two.But is playable for the most part. ( Known Issue I think) When I use newui . Game is unplayable for me . To start , their is no Ping or PLayer count in the server select screen Next , when i load in ( which all seems much faster) I get a error about unable to connect to hive Lastly , even though everything seems smooth , my FPS is super low , but steady , at around 5 FPS, And I have that massive low poly blocky bug that I can not remove with the normal FLUSH command, or changing like HDR settings or something. Lastly , there seems to be a bit of delay when using newui when clicking menu options or trying to drag and drop things in inventory ingame ...

I mostly ignored this comment as it was irrelevant to the OP ,As I run stable just fine . It has always been the case that lower end systems will detect issues before higher end systems. as the higher end systems can simply ignore them or translate them differently . A lower end system will show you all the bugs first.
