    would be ok if it went into like a free fly 3rd person camera mode , that only looked directly down on your body for a few seconds

    Your mind goes directly to how to cause more problems. where as mine just looks for ways to fix them...... Using SP to scout isn't very effective, if as soon as you made any movements to change cameras or look around it would kick you out of it . ( no more so , than logging out in a bush . Same for ghosting, as the moment you tried to raise your weapon, or move position , you would be kicked out of SP and able to get shot.

    a dedicated medic is always best, and of course typically everyone packs basic med supplies. But it will typically be the guy furthest away thats still standing at the end of a fight , able to go down and patch everyone up . In current dayz that basically means someone that can saline bag everyone . maybe craft some splints if their gear is ruined

    Skybox

    Correct me if I'm totally missing something but it seems to me that the skybox in DayZ is just about useless when compared to Arma 2s . I remember being able to navigate by sun / moon location related to time of day, Star constellations and wind direction . DayZs skybox seems useless. No definable constellations ( big dipper/ north star ) , I disabled clouds so no clue if wind direction or shadows stays consistent , The sun rise/set seems to be more North/south then it does east/west The sun is so utterly blinding that it hurts my eyes to even look in its general direction half the time. Nevermind the annoying constant glare .... I know some may try to argue that due to Cherno location the suns location and stars would be different .. But .. Some lines need to be drawn for play-ability sake. And finally , the tide system and waves , I can not tell if it even works, but if it does, needs to be jacked WAY up from what it currently is . Would like to see the tide raise atleast high enough to touch the grass line every few hours .

    Not true , while they are very hot (too hot actually) you have to learn how to regulate your body temp through choosing the right clothing options for the weather on your particular server

    I'm sorry , but you are completely wrong . YES the role of "sniper has LONG since been abused by KOS noobs But a good sniper in a group is vital . The role of a proper sniper in dayz covers many vital jobs. Over watch , Spotter Back up , field medic just to name a few In proper group play my role is to protect everyone else in the group while they loot an area. take out hostile players and occasionally zombies ( when we have them) Its not a job that just any noob with a hunting scope can perform A good squad will consist of atleast a Sniper for over watch , someone thats good at CQB for in town protection , and a looter, someone with maxed storage cap to haul the loot . and when we have zeds , a herder , to collect zed aggro off the looter and CQB guy, typically they are using small cal silent weapons or melee to dispatch the hords If your just a solo player , or your group all runs together from house to house looting blindly since day one , You can not get angry or dislike more organized thought out groups and play styles .

    I use full ghillie m65 jacket , with worn green raincoat as back up smersh vest green face mask USMC pants 2x PET inside 1 cooking pot for water protector case in pants, with essential medicals inside blaze 95 with hunter scope Wire for snares rope for back pack or fishing gas stove for making heat packs and cooking food Green wallies , Everything else is crafted on a as needed bases When I camp a area, I can stay parked for hours , For a sniper Movement can equal death and Less is usually more

    OK , so I decided to give cannibalism a try a couple days ago , mostly out of situational needs, and a little out of morbid curiosity . Easily survived the sickness . No issues their if you regularly eat meats , The twitching is interesting , and doesnt bother me since I no longer use guns. But the constant crying... is frankly way more annoying than I thought it would be. I thought I was suppose to also randomly Laugh , like it would mix it up , giving the impression my guy was going insane. But all he ever does is cry.... Is this a bug or as intended ?

    DayZ SA Modding: A New Map

    Personally I will be looking into building two maps myself. The first will be southern states US. Small towns , dirt roads and lots of thick forest and caves, Think Skyrim meets DayZ . Later it will be one massive city, some mix between GTA and The last of us.
  12. Just brainstorming this idea.. But what about removing most , if not all static spawn locations. I'll explain in more detail. Remove all current military spawns. Replace with a more randomized heli crash type system Car crashes, Camp ground sites, dead bodies , spawn in and around the map . and those are what you must seek out to find high value gear. This way they could have a much faster respawn time delay, and add many more random locations to it . Same with residential and industrial type loot, while some would still be found in houses as is now, most would be located in the pockets of zombies, and the occasional dead body , or trash cans, garbage piles. And unlike lets say , breaking point , where you see a box, open it , X items are inside. I suggest building more off what we already have. With Dice roles Find a trash can or trash pile , search it , much like searching for a stone. and have a dice roll decide what item you happen to pull out . The goal is to get rid of the boring rinse repeat of the current spawn locations. ( Spawn here, go there , get this ) And make it more about constantly staying on the move , to explore and search for things. Never knowing what you would find .
  13. So I've started to notice that more and more of the most populated servers are trying to enforce some versions of the No KoS rules. The current servers I play on , One is strictly PvE no killing at all allowed. And the other is a lite RP server with rules like No KoS or Sniping ( i guess they monitor what guns people use in the logs when a kill is made ) So I find my self trying to comply to these rules,But with growing difficulty. Originally my interpretation of KoS (killing on site) Was very basic, It simply refereed to those guys who shot any and everyone they saw on the spot. Purely killing for the sake of killing. Now it seems to have evolved in to any combat situation where you get the first shot off. For example , last night I was playing on a no KoS server I frequent. And had some squeaker try to kill me with a MP5 , I was unarmed in the sense of not having a gun myself. I was able to simply run around him until he foolishly ran out of ammo. What then followed was a rather amusing 10 minutes of him crying for help as I chased him through Electro eventually beating him to death with my fists in front of his friends . Point of the story is , that just by viewing the log files , I would now be guilty of KoSing that kid , since he did not manage to shoot me first. Or hit me at all for that matter. These types of situations are now completely unavoidable . Their will always be those guys who attack with out provocation. And worse , the ones that will try to provoke , just so they can justify shooting back. I can not figure out a way , in the current build of the game, to "legally" counter act these situations. I refuse to willing allow someone to land the first hit , just for the sake of log files, and more often than not, that first hit can win the fight ,. I tried investing in None lethals. But handcuff animations take way too long, and Stun batons are unreliable at best.. Some times they 1hKO , some times they dont. And your probably not going to get a 2nd hit with that slow ass stick. Sometimes my fist knocks them out , sometimes it 1 hit kills them... Nothing is really dependable when it comes to none lethal game play.

No...I've always voted against heli crash sites to begin with . wrecked cars are one thing , but only if they use the same models that are available to be driven in the game.. so they actually belong there.. Dead bodies and my personal fav, camp sites spawns actually fit into the environment far more then the current crashed military /police vehicles

    When you want to test stuff, or do something aside from pvp , dealing with unwanted PvPers is just annoying and a time waist. Nothing to do with a players skill level. People get tired of having to watch out for pvp when say... trying to see how large of a camp they can make before it creates desync and lag. (ie: pre patched 0.58 ) Yes this can also be done on a normal pvp server. but why bother if you dont have to . Its fairly obvius that their is a significant sized player base that is not interested in pvp at all times. As made apparent by the population size of a lot of these types of servers.

    A solid PvE server, gives you a place to fully test out things like crafting and survival content . A solid no KOS server encourages more Role Play and community mechanics You know... the kinds of things that we should probably be focused on in a testing faze of development

    Suggestion... We cant self blood bag, or use saline on ourselves. Yet for some reason someone felt it wise to put the option on the defib to (Use) which uses it on yourself and kills you...... (insert many lines of cursing and hateful remarks to the devs)

    Breaking all the rules

    My newest play style . Join highest pop servers Walk everywhere . Do not pick up any guns ,or ranged weapons , or equip any large melee weapons on your back . Do not carry much in the way of gear. Rely on survival skills to trap,fish, and hunt. Crafting a bow when needed for animals. Do not appear to hold anything of value. (Large back packs ,military gear and so on ) The goal is to look like a noob bambi . Necessary gear Bandages ( arm bands) A quick draw pistol ( 45acp darrenger or Magnum ) ( 1 hitters) Stun baton Brass knuckles rope What I have found You can go really un noticed walking around. And you will see / spot a LOT more activity. Bandits are far more inclined to try and rob weaker looking people. Which is what I am actively seeking out . To their shock and amazement I am far more prepared for this than they are expecting. I always pack a stun baton , extra batteries , rope /handcuffs,brass knuckles,burlap sack , and saline bags. I wait for the moment while being held up at gun point , for them to get close. really close , Then i strike fast and accurately. Once they are knocked out , I cuff them , saline , and sack . Steal their shoes and what ever else they have i want , or dont want them to have ( normally their weapons ) Force feed them a human steak and charcoal tabs, then run away to a safe distance and watch them break-free . Most would-be bandits are really really stupid.. Can not hit moving targets at all in very close quarters . And rage through their Mics so beautifully when bested by someone they thought weaker . Breaking from walking into a full sprint charge at someone, really seems to thrown them off and cause them to panic . The entertainment value of these situations far surpass anything I've done in DayZ in a long time.

    AMCs The Walking Dead

    Got to thinking .. Why not attempt to partner up with AMC After reviewing some of the games they have recently released with TWD titles. They are total crap , quick attempts to cash in on the shows popularity . DayZ could offer them a nearly finished and popular game. AMC could offer up a much larger revenue stream , larger fan base , proper lore, and a massive advertising market. Granted some minor changes to the game could be required. Like using Slow walking zombies ( which are way easier to develop imo) and maybe converting the map and items into american / English counter parts ( a few over night shifts for the texture department ) But by adopting a ironed out cannon , development would have a set path to follow which would speed things up a bit i imagine. And with the higher influx of revenue , could hire larger more professional staff , to increase productivity. Seems like a win win situation to me

    The respawn game (fixed)

    Arma 3 breaking point mod had a decent fix for this It allowed people to make permanent groups outside the game via its "legion" system. Once set up , you could always find each other in game with player markers . I would really like to see this inhere
