    something weird is going on for sure.. Never seen lag before in the client, On the character select screen and server window , when the player pop is high. Which seems to be what I'm facing now. When the player pop is low , i get no lag at all ? All of this happens before i even enter a server ? Did notice something off today while playing exp though. My CPU temp jumps up really high while ingame, Which is odd considering the amount of cooling I have on it. The RAM useage for ingame is less than what Google Chrome uses , but CPU maxes out and runs hot fast while my GPU is maintaining avg temps

    I've been messing with settings all day today , rolling back and forth between stable and Exp. Can get everything running smooth on stable , even tried locking my config files by setting them to read only ( helped in A3 breaking point) But nothing.. Since the maintenance, its completely unplayable no matter what I change I can get good fluid motion on the character screen . But once in game it drops into that low poly render thing , Where its all 2d ish . For what its worth , I'm miles inland now , near a big field on the edge of a tree line. So , I forced myself as far from any towns as I could in the off change it was a draw issue . Few days ago it was at least playable, if you could deal with random freezing .. Hope these issues dont continue once its moved to stable ..

    1.Dont use any 2.Pioneer Elite PRO-810HD Plasma Monitor 43" Diagonal 1024x768 16:9 HDMI 3.Of course 4.always 5.Currently on a back-up Pc which is very low end. But works well enough for stable Video is just a simple overclocked AMD Radeon HD 5450 Over clocked to : GPU Clock set 690 MHz Memory Clock set 683 MHz

    I have tried all typical and normal troubleshooting steps that I can think of , or google/youtube my way through . To no avail No idea what the deal is with my screen shots, video does the same thing. But game looks fine and normal on my end when i play .

    As flattering as that is , No . What i mean is , "If " we use the Living human - Infected origin it does come with some moral consequences that can not be translated into the game . For example. As currently implemented . The infected are only a threat for about the first ten minutes of game play. In this small window of time , Its understandably Kill or be Killed survival . How ever , once geared out , and experienced.They no longer pose a viable threat to you. ( I don't ever really see this changing ) So if we can no longer justify a life or death survival situation. ( Picture a large organized group of well armed players) would we not now be morally obligated to no longer participate in the wholesale slaughter of innocent people. (Remember semi established time line places us in early days of Apocalypse without knowing the status of a possible cure) Without some type of report we would not have access to from the CDC on the status of a cure ,without breaking the fourth wall . With the option of banding together , and just holding up in a town until help arrives , or subduing the infected and relocating them to lets say the island prison , until a cure can be found. We voluntarily decide to just go out and slaughter , and murder sick people for no justifiable reason. The only real limitations to us doing just that, is due to the available gear in the game so far. And that.. it would make a really boring game... ( remember , we will never have the numbers of infected you see in movies , that justify a constant kill or be killed survival state ) This is why I prefer a more Kirkman approche than let's say a Boyles . Now granted this is all aesthetics and lore and doesn't really matter to most. But , as far as game mechanics and creation itself goes. The swarming hordes of slow reanimated corpses , opens Way more doors to creativity and options . On about the same level as the wide open creativity you get with using Mutants. There are far few rules saying what you can and cant do with them (Doom or Resident Evil) . As opposed to using simple humans with a rage like virus . Due to the limitations of a multiplayer game engine , coupled with a wide open map like Cherno , You will never be able to make Rage zombies a viable threat . As you could say in a GTA type city map or something , You just cant get the numbers up that high . And even if you could , you have to also account for the limitations of AI . Hundreds if not thousands of running raging infected would be amazing to see in Electro , but unless everyone has ten grand or more to spend on a space age Pc, its not going to happen. They are after all just human , so you can only make them so fast, and so strong before breaking that rule. The only way to add more threat is to raise the numbers . Or to cheat by exploiting player limitations , by doing things like , make them flop around when moving to make them frustrating to aim and hit. Or able to chase you for miles regardless of line of sight .... Where as with the alternative it would just be a simple matter of a little rebalance of certain areas of the game , that are already in place and most of your problems would already be solved.

    And so I shall . Once again you guys let your personal opinions and limited leaked information dictate what you Think is correct. As we learned from the leaked info back in 0.50 ish , The current zombies are simple placeholders, That can later be changed into anything the Devs want. When I said boxing themselves in this early was a poor choice, it is . For example , it limits and will require explanations for all future additions. Right now they are rage virus type infected. But what happens if they discover that fast moving , large numbers ,persistent , high poly , advance animated , complex AI just isnt going to work out, with this engine. Well now they have to change that back story to justify using lower tech walkers that will work. Better to just leave the door open for backstory and origins until later when things are working properly ( Development ) Just because they want or intended for 28 Days later, does not mean they will not end up with The Walking Dead , Due to mechanics limitations and performance issues . *Cough Cough* Oldman *Cough* Fat guy We will likely never see Kid zombies or partially naked zombies for a far simpler reason..     Guess there were no paraplegic , amputees in this country Just like there are no children , overweight or elderly citizens to become infected.. Please tell me more about this "realism " you guys like to wax on about..... The idea for a crawler missing its legs ,granted was purely for aesthetics to add to the creepy factor. Never once did I suggest the "How" it would have lost its legs, you just automatically assumed chopped off, to justify your little ego induced tirant about zombie origins and developer commentary . As for the suggestion for them coming out of swamps/ponds and high grass areas,. Well that is valid regardless on how you feel about it . I think it was a very stupid mistake for the developers to box themselves into a creative corner so early in development .By confirming the origins of the "Zombies" in this game. Limiting themselves to infected humans was a bad move .One which I hope they change sometime in the near future. As Many of us assume they will, the more they realize the limitations this classification creates. schwaBAM To address your remarks.. As entertaining as you are. I will say this. Their are no bad suggestions in the Suggestions Forum .Your personal validation of them neither enhances or reduces their value. Good or bad, that is what this section of the forums is for. For people to voice their ideas. It is up to the Dev team to decide if they ever make it into official , and up to the community if they ever make it into the mods. Your personal opinion holds little to no value in this regards. So take some personal advice and dismount that high horse you enjoy riding so much. Mos1ey Same goes to you , this is a suggestions forum , to make suggestions Jumping to quote what the Devs have or haven't said last year, means very little. The game is in development. What is true today very well may change tomorrow. And will definitely change when modding becomes available. As a staff member you should be a little more reserved when jumping to dismiss someone else's ideas . This is after all a sandbox game With no official back story or cannon to draw from for the origin of the story ( yet) , Their are no rules that dictate how you play , or how you must interpret the content with in. It it up to each player to make of the game what they will. And that my friends is why we all love it .

    You seem to take yourself and your opinions a bit too serious. Relax , it's friday , enjoy yourself a little more.. to address your above concerns.. Don't like my ideas or posts ? SImple solution .. Don't read them easy as that my friend. This community will always be split down the center on what they want to see this game grow into. Luckily once the modding tools becomes available we will see all these ideas come into play.

    Nope still wont accept it . Even with all your fancy "facts" and "researched information" .. I like ma zombies dead. Reanimated, and slow moving ! Too many moral implications to going around freely promoting to wholesale slaughter of innocent people whom are merely ill from a virus . It borderlines genocide .

    I do no accept that. If that be the case we are all murders . That could (Role Play) be better off avoiding, subduing , and jailing the infected rather than herding and killing them . Until a cure could be found. Lets face it , they will never be that much of a threat once you're a little experienced in handling them.... I much prefer the guilt free , morally correct, Walking dead.

    Devs have already addressed this in other posts. They are simply place holders. What they are working on now is just adding the items in , putting the system in place. Later they will add more , smooth them out and so on . They added a crafted spear. great. At worst case , later the modders will change them into better versions. But I do agree.. a stone knife + sharpen stick would have been a smarter choice for the spear than a bone one .... It seems they added this just for the bushcrafting aspect of it . FYI you can get the needed bone likely from trapping or fishing first , THEN use the bow or spear to hunt larger animals .

    You are basically missing the entire point of the subject and trying to go off topic of the OP . No one was talking about Survivor gear, or PvP vs PvE loadouts. The OP was specifically asking about Sniper gear, which would be strictly PvP focused . A survivor loadout would be more PvE ( Player vs Environment ) and likely more focused on gear for that. Such as but not limited to farming or fishing gear, zombie weapons and so forth , Long range rifles would not be ideal for zombies, nor would noisy ARs, most snipers or combat players wouldnt bother packing gardening tools or water purification tabs like a survivalist would, Yes everyone can mix and match the limited gear in the game. But when you choose a specific playstyle or load out , you limit yourself to just the items you need or want for that particular job. My survivalist doesnt concern himself with high end combat gear. His inventory is filled with camping, cooking, hunting, fishing and farming gear. Not ammo, guns and armor.

    I never said it was "only " a sniper thing ? My survivalist wears a ghillie hood at all times And full leather outfit. But uses the Blaze 95 with scope. I find the option for double firing both rounds at once can be useful for dropping those cows quick.

    Small suggestion for a hot key setting in the keymaps for the L Ctrl + L Shift + Numpad (-) then type Flush command ( I think this dumps Vid memory ) Either way it really helps me out when i get bad lag spikes around new towns . I have that bug where I would randomly drop into single digit FPS, This resolves it 95% of the time, so i set a macro for it . Just thought it should be added into the control kay maps in the game itself though .

    Next time you get a bad lag spike . lets say entering Cherno and your FPS suddenly drops hit left ctrl , left shift and the numpad - key all at the same time , Then type the word flush your screen will go black and a message will say , Activating Flush Then the area will reload and your able to move around again , but with a bit higher FPS , basically I think it dumps all info in your memory from other places you have been or seen , and just re loads whats with in your current visual range . When I travel I use this ( set on a macro key ) every time I enter a new town , so i get max FPS and no lag Also seem to help when you get a lot of players around you

    It took me many hours to build out my sniper the way I wanted him. Netting alone for a full ghillie can take hours. If you go for smersh to compensate for lack of back pack , even longer time investment . Coupled with an SVD if that's your preferred weapon... insane amount of time....Hell a hunting scope alone can take ages Top of the line CQB build only requires Rider jacket Ballistic helm Press vest or Plate vest with or without pouches and Any AR you choose . Except for the M4 , all this can be gathered easily on route to any military base .

    Spawn Protection

    Back in the old days of FPS MP games , we had spawn protection . Was wondering recently why this has never been added to DayZ Basic concept is simple. When you first spawn in , you are untouchable , "god mode" in a sense. Sometimes even transparent . Which is of course canceled as soon as you take any actions. The simple purpose is to protect you until you are fully spawned into the game. As I'm sure many of you with friends know, That sometimes, when logging into DayZ your body will show up several moments before you yourself get into the game. Leaving you wide open to player kills or zombie aggro. Now i know many of you will simply say ... Log in/out in a safer place. Well thats not always an option if you get the occasional crash, or disconnect while in alpha as I'm sure many do . Additionally , I would love later if they added the ability to log into the game in the same Stance you logged out . ie: log out prone , log in standing , always annoyed me

    Best Sniper Gear?

    Basically due to the fact that of all the play styles , *Sniper takes the most time to properly gear out , and has the highest learning curve . *Where as a good CQB play style has the highest system requirement demands . Also more to do with learned abilities such as holdover , trajectories , and weapon/ammo statistics & performance. And less to do with natural abilities such as quick reflexes ,reactions and eye hand coordination. In other words, those of us with crappy systems, low fps or just a more relaxed playstyle are more suited to the sniper role, whereas those of you with high end pcs, better fps or more of a energetic hyper playstyle tend to be better suited for CQB . Real snipers learn to respect the amount of time and effort other snipers have put into their craft. Whereas those that prefer close quarter combat ... well there isn't much difference between a highly trained combatant , and some YOLO rushing noob with an assault rifle. Besides.. CQB gets all the attention when it comes to videos, and streaming. Because its more action packed.. Sniper playstyle may not be much fun to watch or record. So we discuss it instead .
