From big distances and putting your graphics on low settings causes the trees become less visible, especially the leaves. Making it easier to get your self spotted but not so bad in close/mid ranges. Sucks to be honest on distance pvp so i would just avoid trees.

The amount of Rangefinders is too damn high
monoking replied to Inception.'s topic in DayZ Mod Gallery
I notice many bodies do in fact have rangefinders for past following months. and on top of that DMR's and Nightvision too! Many of these items are getting hacked in wich is so sad and then duped afterward :/. -
Game-ruining experience, can't play any servers
monoking replied to bladeholdin's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
I'm having the same problem. I guess all servers on public hive are effected? I see every server having 1000 ping. -
Some one commented this. Cocokingable1 17 minutes ago Oh my god. You made a video on my Overwatch server. Check us out on steam: Mil-Tec Gaming This is awesome. Im [MT-G] GT_Eleanor

DayZ Commander doesn't recognize OA and wants me to buy it from Steam
monoking replied to Feror's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Did you do it on DayZ directory too? It's default directory is in OA folder. And did you also cross the override box? -

Go to settings on DayZCommander and specify the correct Arma2 OA directory. -
899USD for such system? If you are gonna get your pc build there for that price you are gonna get ripped off. 70USD more for fx8350 and mild overclock? The motherboard with AMD 970 chipset aint that great either kinda on the lower-mid side. and that GPU is a laughing stock, you will able to play dayz on low with that gpu. You are better of going to a local computer shop and let them build it for you togheter for a small fee, you will save alot of money too. Add some money and get the fx8350 instead and get a better gpu like 650ti or gtx 660.

In Single threaded performance it's quite the same. I never see arma use more then 2 cores so i guess it does perform similair.
-
with Fx6300 won't get u 50-60fps either on high. Even if you have a 780GTX the cpu will bottleneck it till 30-40fps in towns.

DayZ has a serious Reddit problem. Lets fix it
monoking replied to pbrunk's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I see reddit as the common people. What they say and think kinda reflects what the mass thinks of this game. -
If you want to overclock your CPU you need a good aftermarket cooler. Ivybridge get extremely hot when overclocked. Same goes for amd though but not as much as intel. You could save alot of money by getting non K cpu and a regular motherboard. Example of a good aftermarket cooler. http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=13232 If you want to reach 4.5ghz on ivy you need atleast a closed loop water cooler and a more expensive motherboard with more cpu phase. It's not worth it to buy a cheap cpu cooler just to get 100-200 mhz more.

When you don't have so much money, You don't have to go for the K version. The non K version are fine and still kicks fx8350 asses most of the time and priced around the same range. What is not true? The integer/fpu story? I thought it was a fact..Or am i retard. Well overal i5 is generally better then fx8350. The Fx8350 might be better in some scenarions when "ALL THREADS" are properly utilized. These days its quite common that these games will not make a proper use of all its resources.I've seen it only perform better though in games like crysis 3. It is undeniable that i5 is a better choice for games. Haven't you seen the market share yet between the two yet that the problem amd is facing now? Especially since arma 2 does not use more then 2 threads theres no point in getting fx8350 over i5. Even this article has stated that it will not even go beyond 13.90% usage. And its even on par with i3 in arma 2... http://www.behardware.com/articles/880-13/amd-fx-8350-review-is-amd-back.html

Hackers? Seems always to strike me when i get geared and managed to find a vehicle. They're still there but not much as before. I just got myself owned from one few days ago. Was about to find materials to repair a bus and i flew 5 meters in the air and died.
-
For a commoner this game might not be worth the money. It has a pretty steep learning curve from the early days of the mod, and from the recent changes it became even harder, like more rare loot, and getting infected from zombies. You might come across few hackers but not much as before as i just got launched 10 meter in the air few days ago. If you are gonna start you might think, what the .. is this? It's too hard and i keep dieing! Don't get discouraged, have patience to learn how the game works. If you don't then this game is absolutely not worth for you.

Need help getting DayZ to work on my PC
monoking replied to Hick-93's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
When you scroll down on the site of dayzcommander you see "Download DayzCommander" in a blue rectangular shape. That's the correct one for sure. The site is full of fake download advertisement buttons. I completely understand you as i also clicked several times on wrong download buttons >:(. It's really easy to get dayz commander working with arma 2 steam version. Go to dayzcommander, click on install/update on the right upper side. Install the latest beta patch and Dayz Mod. Viola~ -
Have you tested it on DayZ? How well does it run there.

I don't have something against AMD. They just can't compete against intel these days. Their supposed to be flagship Amd fx8350 is a joke compared to i5 3570k. Since this game won't properly utilize more then 2 cores u will get worse performance on a fx6300, Especially with it's fake 6 core design. 2 cores in 1 module with 2 integer and 1 fpu unit. A fx6300 might be better overal but not for DAYZ in this case since the game is not optimized to properly utilize all its core. If it would, then this game wouldn't bottleneck my cpu with only 50% cpu usage. See what i'm saying? http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardware-canucks-reviews/57615-amd-vishera-fx-6300-fx-4300-review-10.html

With that card u won't able to run on Full HD. Swap the Fx6300 for i3. Don't fall for amd fake 6 core marketing. *oops double posted* maybe mod could merge my post :D?*

You will not able to overclock to 4.4ghz on 3570k on air cooler especially on that low end cooler. You need atleast high end closed loop watercooler to get stable temp at 4.5ghz. Ivybridge get very HOT compared to sandybridge. You could get maybe do 4.4ghz with noctua nh-d14 or similair class coolers. my 4770k Get around 80-90 temps on a h100 closed loop watercooler on 4.5ghz. And the cheap z77 board might not even push to 4.4ghz at all stable due to not having much cpu power phases , 4+1. you might not even get 4.4ghz stable. but most likely 4.0/4.2ghz. But on your rig you will able to squeeze 50-60fps in towns with OC to 4.4ghz on very high. Don't overdo the settings though like anti-aliasing wich seems to be extremely cpu stressing.

This was on a public hive, as i mentioned on my post my specs are AMD x4 960T overclocked to 3.8ghz or 3.6ghz. "not my pc" and a nvidia 8800gts. slightly slower then yours but i turned everything literally off. Low/Off on everything. res 800x600 etc. maybe 50-60 is abit exaggerating but should be around 40-50 and in some areas in the cities 60. with nvidia 9800 GT i don't think u can run it on med with good FPS. My old 570gtx was struggling alot to maintain good fps on normal/high.
-
i3 will perform better then a FX6300 on DayZ. The IPC of intel is alot better then AMDs and the game won't use more then 2 cores effectively. So i3, performance wise is better then fx6300. If you would research abit on google you would find out that a 650TI performs better then a 7770 so i see no point for him to downgrade to a 7770.

Lagging on a High end PC. on Low settings, wtf?
monoking replied to OrlandoKiller's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Oh really? Thats why i told him to check it out. my previous i5 2500k on stock ghz bottlenecked a 570GTX... Worth a try though, Why not! Especially for a cpu heavy game. -

monoking replied to OrlandoKiller's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Overclock your cpu to atleast 4.5ghz. You have a K CPU, so put it to good use. 3.5ghz is too mild overclock. This wil benefit dayz alot and rack up your FPS. This game is so horrible optimized that almost every setting seems to put more strain on the CPU. I tested it on my rig by turning on/off key settings and my gpu stay on 60/70% usage on a 4770k 4.5ghz. On what resolution are you playing? Lots of people are forgetting that the resolution also has a huge impact on CPU in this game. Put it lower till you get good fps. I play on 2560x1080 with resolutions lowered to 60% on High. and my fps is around 40-60 in towns. Wish i could play it on 100% res and on very high but my cpu won't let me. I recommend you to download msi afterburner to check out your gpu usage while playing ingame. When the gpu usage won't hit the ceiling around 100%, your cpu is bottlenecking. -
Turn down your resolution. It might be but ugly but it puts huge strain on the CPU and GPU. And turn off anti aliasing. Even I can't get good fps running on my rig. 4770k 4.5ghz and gtx 760 on full hd so i have to turn it down.

My gf has a 960T clocked to 3.6 with 8800gts and gets 50-60fps in cities with everything turned off. You could try overclocking your CPU as it will benefit this game alot.
