You are gonna sacrifice your memory for some disk space depending on how big the dayz files are to fit them in. You have to turn it off everytime you stop playing dayz. Not sure if you have to restart your computer, haven't used it for centuries.

Depends if he has good gear of course. But with the duping rampage in this version he will most likely just return to his camp to gear up and no big lossie. In this new version duping is still possible through other methods so i see no point really.

Based it on the GPU with CPU FPS bottleneck in mind. And the performance on Empty public hive servers. The game might barely uses the GPU on low settings but the resolution has also a huge impact on the gpu usage. I turned everything off on video settings and put the resolution on 1280x540 and the gpu usage was 44% in the woods. 66% on Full HD. I'm using the GTX 760 currently, it shouldn't be that bad of a card. Compare it to a 7750 or a GTX 650.

The 955 will run 30-40FPS in towns. I played DayZ on a 960T and it ran around that fps and its even abit slower then 955. The IPC from phenoms to bulldozer aren't such a big jump. Phenoms X4 are still solid cpu these days. When it comes to core count and heavy multithreaded application its a different story. Full HD with 100% resolution is very gpu intensive. A regular 650GTX "NON TI" won't even run on Normal/High with that fps. Theres a huge difference between the Ti and the non Ti version. The SPU unit and texture unit is doubled on the TI version. I used to have 570GTX wich is abit slower then 660TI and i couldn't run on High. The card is bottlenecked slighty on Normal so i had turn down the Resolution abit. I always use a tool to check my gpu usage when i play games generally. No way my 2500k on 5.0ghz was the bottleneck factor. I recently sold my SSD and i'm using 5400RPM HDD to play DayZ on and i notice theres no FPS difference at all. The loading times are faster though. The Fx6300 is a good and solid CPU when you don't have so much money to spend. It shines in heavy multi-threaded programs but sadly arma 2 is known to suffer from this problem and won't effectively use more then 2 cores. Very low on full hd Maybe Normal on Low resolution. 30-50FPS in towns. The gpu is very weak and should be on par with 550TI. Yet again :P before the GTX 570 i had a similair performance slompy card. It would be nice if people state on what resolution they wish to play. My gpu usage drops from around 90% to 50% by lowering the 3d resolution to 50% on full HD.

On full HD with that GPU? Lowest/Low. Cpu bottleneck around 30-40 fps in town. A wild guess from using the Amd phenom X4 960T.

Whats with these people advertising their server with no Tent as spawn loot?

The cpu will push it to 40-50FPS in towns. A 550TI will push it to around Low on Full HD.

To be honest. Theres barely any loot now. Only one pile in few buildings or no loot at all in some buildings. The loot despawning has to be reworked. I'm sure the loot tables already been tweaked to make items more rarer. When i make a run through cherno i can barely find usefull items. As dimitri3p0 said, people would just hoard key places and switch servers. Does loot cycling even work now, I think it has been fixed some way around?

Tent are pretty useless now. Theres a 1% chance to cure infection once evey 5 minutes... You are pretty dead when you are trying to cure your infection every 5 minutes without hunting for meat generally. Best solution is just to kill your self and reloot your body or get your friend to pick you up. You can try to find Antibiotics but they are extremely rare, rarer then a mountain dew in my opinion. I don't like the infection either to be honest. Just consider urself dead and start over. Avoid zombies at all cost. Don't try to fight them. Not even with a hachet. They're too bugged to fight with and will hit you anyway.

40-60 FPS in towns. on High/Normal. Friend has a similair build. On 4700MQ. If your cooling are strong to keep it cool enough. Wich will be atleast 3.2GHZ. with 2 cores on load. I'd say aprox 40-50FPS in towns on Normal with 770M. 770 Performs similair then my 570GTX. I think they should be on par with I5 desktop with turbo boost on. Can't be sure about Fx-4100. Maybe 20-40fps in towns? Some people are having problems with AMD cpu in Dayz.

Have you checked other servers around? Some servers are infested with duped bodies and cause major lag.

My Friend has a GTX 660 and you will run above 20FPS for sure on normal and even on high as long the cpu is not bottlenecking it.

You will able to run normal/high on 40-50FPS in towns coming from some one that runs 4770k on 4.6ghz. Still no 60FPS minimum in towns :P. A dip to 55/52. Is there a reason why you are going i7? Theres no noticable performance difference between i5 and i7. Outside towns 60 FPS for sure. My GTX 760 reaches the wall on very high "2560x1080" so yours will for sure run on high.

You won't see a difference between fx4100 and fx6300, This game is not properly multithreaded to take advantage more then 2 cores. You want to OC that processor to squeeze the best FPS as possible. This game bottlenecks the CPU the most for some reason and loves singlethreaded IPC. If you really want more fps you should get an i5 and oc it to the max. Try empty vanilla dayz servers, They should give you solid fps most of the times. Sometimes even i get 20-30 FPS on slow servers with 4770k 4.6ghz.

I'm playing this game in a group of 4 people and none of us has able to find antibiotics yet. It's not easy to get infected indeed but the clunky zombie mechanics and them spawning in buildings make them land a few hit on you and there you go. infected. You can try to avoid them but still. Game breaking or not, its all matter of perspective.

The infection really sucks. When you get infected the best thing is just to kill your self. No point finding antibiotics.

I spent tons of money on 4770k and water cooler setup. @ 4.5GHZ and i get 40-60fps in towns. I think this game is not poorly optimized, just not programmed in mind from the startup to utilize all cores efficiently. Arma 2 came out in 2009. At that time more people used dual cores so they just went with it. They would have to abolish the engine and reprogram everything from the startup to make it efficient as possible, don't think they have enough time and money to do that. Arma 2 is not the only game that suffer cpu limitations. Skyrim, Tera etc. I think these developers didn't think from the start that multi-core is very important. Never use more then 50% on my 4 cores with Ht off :).

It uses the newer tahiti LE chipset so its somewhat faster then a regular 7870. No clue why its so cheap but nonetheless very good card.

This will perform quite similair to 4670k, 200mhz increase won't make a much difference, except you can't overclock. I'd say 40-50 fps in towns. 60-70 fps outside on normal/low with full HD. My old 570GTX struggled to run high on full hd. If you want to run very high, get atleast a 760GTX. That's where it starts to bottleneck for me. Depends on your budget. A really bang for a buck gpu would be the GTX 760, If you don't have so much money maybe 7870 or gtx 660. GTX 760 Can easily run on full HD on very high with no gpu bottleneck but not on MAX. HDR/postprocessing eats it for breakfast. "I have it" The fps would be similair to to guy i quoted above with a hard guess, as i get minimum 50 fps in towns on 4770k 4.5GHZ.

Once you have all gear try to secure yourself a helicopter, hoard all vehicles. Blow up buildings.

Would be cool if they could make the animals a threat in the night. Wolfs attacking you, possibly getting infected from snakes, Wild fierce boars. It's called the wilderness for a reason isn't it?

From big distances and putting your graphics on low settings causes the trees become less visible, especially the leaves. Making it easier to get your self spotted but not so bad in close/mid ranges. Sucks to be honest on distance pvp so i would just avoid trees.

I notice many bodies do in fact have rangefinders for past following months. and on top of that DMR's and Nightvision too! Many of these items are getting hacked in wich is so sad and then duped afterward :/.

I'm having the same problem. I guess all servers on public hive are effected? I see every server having 1000 ping.
