Not true. You can find each other easily. Learn about terrain association, map reading, landmarks and navigation. You already know where you spawned, so it makes very easy. Also map is quite small, running speed is not realistic and you don't have fatigue (you can run forever, which I hope will be fixed like in ACE mod) = you can run from one end of map to another in less than 30 minutes, it is not much. If you want to spawn next to each other chose different zombie game. Navigation, finding each other, etc are part of the DayZ.

No. Weapons are almost everywhere. Within first 20-30 minutes you can find all what you need. If you die too often, that means you do something wrong: - don't run, sneak - don't run, use shape of terrain as your cover - don't stay on noobcoast, move north - play at night, zombies are blind and deaf after dusk - use empty tin cans and whiskey bottles to distract zombies etc

Unless we get flags/effects for murder, this game will just be Deathmatch.

Could you elaborate some more about those points? For now are worthless because don't explain why you think like that. I share my opinion' date=' as I'm a alpha tester of this mod. It's not a final version of this mod and I hope a lot of thing will change and improve. Currently gameplay reminds me CoD mixed with Left 4 Dead game and it's far away from being a survival game based on open world sandbox mil sim Operation Arrowhead. MP gameplay might be so much better if Rocket improves it - for example check ACE and ACRE mods for OA - those guarantee best MP experience ever. Already done that and in few words: game is too easy. We (my group) wanted to help other survivors, but since those prefer to open fire or disconnect we couldn't do much. We'd like to chase and eliminate all murderers, but bandits skins have been removed unfortunately. -

There are few major issues with DayZ: - newly spawned player can "beat" the game within first 20-30 minutes. Food, water and weapon are very easy accessible almost everywhere. Players don't need to worry about survival elements like starvation at all. - high class weaponry is too common, same with ammunition. - there are no consequences of killing survivors, bandits always win in this situation - there is no visual difference between survivor and bandit - bandits should be called murderers, criminals and chased by survivors, military and police, if captured or killed murderers should be punished - players should have goal like gathering food, building safe areas and fighting against zombies (zombies are no threat now) - so killing survivor should be last thing to do in DayZ -

@FieldMedic That's very impressive what you have tried to achieve. It's really shame that 95% of players play DayZ as CoD deathmatch, not survival/zombie apocalypse game. I really hope that Rocket will improve game mechanics, I think such behavior like yours should be rewarded, and murderers punished badly. People are simply stupid and prefer to chose easiest possible option - shoot on sight - because there aren't any downsides. Murderers win everything, always. Me and friends of mine tried to help other survivors, for fun, to achieve something, but in 95% it looked like that: - We find survivor, he is not aware of our present, we type and speak in direct chat if he needs any help - Survivor quickly disconnects or starts shooting at us (even when we have more guns and we say that we don't want to kill) -

You are right sir, but people will still bitch about it. They don't want to use any kind source of light because it reveals their position and since DayZ is in 95% about a deathmatch PvP, not a survival game, they worry about their precious equipment. I hope Rocket ignores those whines and focus on murderers problems. For me night is easy mode: - less PK'ers on a server - zombies are totally blind and deaf at night - you have tons of flares or chemlights to take with you on night trip Besides people do not understand how dark is night in RL, outside cities, far away from any source of light, with moonless night. +1 on making DayZ more coop and survival game, less deathmatch. Rocket mentioned that he improved code and more infected can be spawned on a server - good. But supplies, weapons/ammo are way too common and easy to loot. As I mentioned somewhere else, you can fully equip yourself in less than 30 minutes after respawn to fully survive in game, and 50 minutes to start a regular war with high class military equipment.- 766 replies

Guy there use ACE, ACRE, STHud addons, which are very important for ArmA 2 multiplayer (ACE and ACRE are must have) and some post processing effects. All of those wont work on DayZ. I guess those screens have been photoshoped, taken in ArmA 2 and added DayZ GUI. -

In less than hour I managed to find: - AK-74 and 3 mags (found double barrel shotgun in first 10 minutes, then Lee Einfield) - makarow and plenty clips - crowbar - map - binos - Alice Backpack - hunting knife - matches - camo suit - tons of bean cans and soda - bandages Most risky part was a trip to Elektro Hospital to loot some medical supplies, but found morphine, epi-pen and antibiotics with no problems. Zombies alerted: 0 Game is very easy for new characters, you can find all needed equipment to survive in first 20-30 minutes. If you run around, don't plan ahead and sneak or spend too much time in hot zones (Cherno, Elektro, Balota Airfield) you might have a problems.

@Op DayZ is not only about shooting or PvP. Give it a time when new features will be added. You might want to try other Arma 2 mods like City life, Zombie invasion, and two most important: ACE and ACRE. -

Murderers always win: - look like survivor - shoot first - have better equipment - don't need to worry about food, water, supplies, ammunition because they loot those from dead survivors - etc In real life they would be chased by all normal people (survivors), police and military. I really would like to see a bandit skin back and implemented punishment for killing players. To make it simple: - if you kill someone you get negative karma and you become murderer - if survivor kills murderer he gets banned from game for X amount of time (he got caught and executed for his sins) - karma level slowly regenerates with time, (blood transfusion etc cannot restore karma), so after few days murderers can become a survivor again (if he didn't killed anyone) with that system player would be aware of risk for killing someone. Players would think twice before they pull a trigger. Not only survivors would risk. Gameplay would be improved significantly. -
You must enjoy get stuck in buildings due to bugged arma2 engine. I play ArmA 2 for 2,5 years and never had a problem to enter a building. I play first person and don't get stuck. What is bugged? Could you elaborate more on that or wait even better report it on ArmA2 bug tracker: https://dev-heaven.net/projects/39/wiki/CIT Back on topic: such games as CoD, Battlefield, Killing Floor, Left for Dead don't need 3rd person perspective. 3rd person is sometimes used by military units to keep up formation in shape etc.

Since weapons were been removed from spawn gameplay has improved significant. After 14 days my character got killed by a server hopper. I respawned on coast and I really enjoyed sneaking around and collecting stuff BUT in 20-30 minutes I managed to find everything I need to survive... Found weapons, food, water, knife, matches etc. Game is still very easy and survival element isn't significant for players.

1. Got wounded by hackers (broken leg). Managed to disconnect 2. Killed by a server hopper <- this needs to be fixed. -

Yesterday my team removed about 10 barbed wires from SE barracks entrance of NW airfield. We will do it again and again and again, on all servers wherever we find those blocking way inside high value buildings like barracks, ACT, fire station, hospitals etc. Use those to build your base in wildness, not for loot collecting. ps. do NOT remove it from a game
