    Smell System

    Yes I like the idea! Would be nice if you can do that with every Item. One problem would be, that the textmessage indicator would get spammed Im hot I smell corpses Im hungry I smell oil It smells awfull Iam hungry But for a mousewheel/rightclick option I think it would be great.

    Base Camp Building

    Basebuilding is confirmed. The more interesting part here which mechanisms will be implemented. Hicks said he won't those epoch/exile bases with 5 miles sniper towers. It should fit in the environment - good decision in my opinion. There are different games with mechanisms for basebuilding. The old epoch arma 2 mod (I think it was epoch where you where able to build a safe house)/ New epoch/ exile thing with panels but I think it looks always ugly. Ark for shure, a mixture of panels and modelled stuff. Rust and miscreated I don't know how bb is handeled. Another real good type of basebuilding is implemented in life is feudal. Which one fits dayz the best? Or a mixture of all? Another problem I'm thinking of over and over again is the balance between raiding and safety. How safe should a base be? How easy to raid? A base shouldn't be to easy to raid but not to safety - how should be dealed with this problem? Only raidable bases when owners are online? Lockable stuff? NPC guards u can hire? Etc etc... And how should maintenance work? Do you really want to maintenance every single thing in your base over and over again? One tent - move one thing - next tent - move one thing - next barrel - move one thing - next barrel - fireplace - watchtower - fences - gate - ... Should there be a base area so u can maintain different areas? Or is it to easy? Or a maintenance buildings? If u store different parts like nails, hammers etc in it and someone is near that building, u have the possibility to maintain everything?

    No loot in .60

    Sorry but there is no problem with loot respawn on the servers I played since 0.60. Loot respawn has normally nothing to do with server restarts. It respawns in different amounts of time. The cycling of loot like it was possible in 0.59 doesn't work anymore. It seems to be more random. If you're going to starve next time, hunt a chicken. They are everywhere. Get some bark and sticks >> handdrill kit >> make fire with rags n sticks >> be happy and eat crispy chicken
  5. I want to join the modded server "Hardcore NO BEANZ 1PP Go Hunting low loot/thousands of infected" server ^^ Just true! I hope, with the new dynamic spawn system for infected, the challange to get really high gear will increase heavily. For now its just tooo easy... spawn cherno... walk up Nadezhdino...walk around the green mountain and you will find one chrashsite for shure...then myshkino tents and you are high geared as ****. Because of food balance. I think there should be some remarkeble advantage if you get some so called high tier food because otherwise its just to timeintensive to get and use it. Everytime I found deer/chickens etc I grabbed them and putted the flesh in my inventar and ist stays there for a while till Im hungry and find some beanz. then I take the beanz and throw the flesh away because there is no difference if I eat damaged canned food...cold...or if I eat some fresh crispy grilled chicken. The only difference is the consumption of time I need to invest to get energized again. By the way... for me I think its just to easy to get healed with the energized status. I dont think it should be able to heal just by eating some cans of beanz and water. This would make the medical loot much more valueable. But in the end I think I have to wait till 1.0 because all of that stuff are balancing issues and first all other stuff and features need to be implemented to balance this stuff...
  6. There are many mapchanges in the north too. A new Militarybase near Tisy, a new quarry and much more. Zombies with many different Skins, Firemen, civil style old guy etc. but not enough infected spawning right now the new renderer/engine looks really nice sometimes; rain/fog looks really awesome... loot spawns inside of loot; you can find baked beans in a backpack or a trouser, a rifle with a scope, a mag and some rounds in it fps much better in big citys now etc etc

    Hey Guys, long time no see :) So it seems like nearly all blockers are knocked out! The basebuilding thing I´m so excited for and I hope they will implement a good degregation system so you can find an abandoned base in the woods with broken walls etc. But the most thing I´m excited for is the new Playercontroller/Animation system. I hope so bad it gets implemented in the next few exp. builds. Because of this new UI thing coming with 0.60 I wanted to share an Idea I stumbled upon while searching for different types of UI design for Dayz.     Shooter or survival?

    For now = true in future I hope to see the survival aspect gets more balanced after hitting beta stage. MUCH more infected with new spawning system advantages of cooked/hunted/fished/trapped meat/fish against junk food base building and barricading more makeshift stuff which can stand against high military gear (better vests/not different sizes of backpacks made out of leather/ makeshift cooking tripod/makeshift burlapsack etc advanced horticulture - maybe the stuff you plant wont get destroyed after harvesting/persistent horticulture nerf of energized/hydrated filling up blood to force the medical system; damn I dont know the last time I used a medical supply except rags and sticks with rags weapons spawning in should be between badly damaged and pristine more ammo spawning in lower ammount of rounds

    My return after a year long break - Disapointing

    Me think there are big changes made in the backround wich are not implementes right now and that took way more time then developers expected. Complete rewrite of the new enginenew renderernew animation controllerand UIThese are things the devs are workin quite a lot on, these tasks took a long time but we dont see the improvements (except of a few images). I hope, if those are implemented and workin well for alpha, the improvements will be achieved faster. The whole workflow should be cleaned up because nobody has to worry about two systems running in the same time. And yes, I am a fanboi :)

    Hello sir, with the upcoming advanced lightning effects, coming with the new renderer, would it be possible to spot torches or campfires from a bigger distance? Because of the new bow model. Will there be improvements of the current bow system? With the upcoming new player controller are any new playerinteractions planned? Maybe to carry a tied up player or kick him gently to prown stance. Thank you for takin time to Q&A sir.

    I searched a bit and tried it with different grenades, atm its only possible with the frag grenade. I tried it wit m67, flashbang and the russian smoke grenade. But that was before yesterdays exp update so maybe ^^

    Now, (0.59 exp) there is a taser model in the gamefiles, there is a siringe dart in the gamefiles too. I think it´s time to revive this thread because this would be a great style to take out Enemies without killing them :) In addition you can add teargas grenades to a tripwire and there will be chaos :D edit: and the gasmasks doesnt only look creepy, they really are something you should take with you ;) edit 2: and the best for 1pp would be, if there will be a visiual overlay if you got a gasmask or a helmet on your face.

    I like it realy but to be honest I think we will only see it if workshopcontent gets avalailable :( At Q&A from SR Oct. 15th I asked: 4) are variations of dynamic events planned? I mean something like, you see a helicopter in the air flying around and then it crashes instead of just spawning somewhere? Or an abandoned survivercamp with lots of infected and maybe some civilian supply? Maybe we see some stuff like that? Later? After Beta? Maybe?

    I like the Idea too, but I asked hicks about it in the last Q&A and he wrote, that something like that should be kept playersided. So if you find tents it will be always tents from human players me think ^^ I personally think it would be a great advantage of atmosphere, if dynamic events would be more fleshed out like that. Not only broken helicopters, boats and policecars.

    Because of the "skin and quarter" thing. At the moment there a no leftovers after you quartered something. I know it´s WIP right now, but wouldnt it be great if some leftovers stay on the floor after someone ripped out flesh from a deer or a human being? edit: This would be a great sideeffect avoiding serverhopping I guess! If you hop on lowpop server on NWA and hundreds of infected waitin for ya :D

    Maybe cooldowns are enough? I think the improvement should be very slow.
