    Basebuilding Watchtowers preview added to Trello

    I hope for a more individual basebuilding style! I want to design my own tower with nettings sandbags, woodpiles metalsheets, poles etc. One two or three stages. I hope they implement some different tiles you can stick together. More like exile but with much more variety in style and size. Metalsheet tiles in 1x1, 1x2, 2x2. Different styles of woodpiles etc, barbed wire, junk wall...

  4. Yeah we understood that. Zombies are spawned at serverstart and are persistent+old spawnmechanic, per player spawning zombies in like in the mod = dynamic spawnsystem of zeds. What evans and I say that not only the player should trigger the spawning zombies but also their behavior (noise, lightsources etc). Because when its like that the metagaming wich they want to prevent would still be there. If you see many infected you know there are players. This metagaming could be prevented by different variables like Evans told before.
  5. This! I think it would be really immersive, if infected are spawning in houses. At the moment I play Arma 3 exile on a CCG Server where they implemented a TornZ Zombie mod... its this frankie Tanoa Server. It´s a bit like the old Dayz Mod system with spawning many zombies by player coming into a spawnzone. Sometimes they spawn inside houses and it feels great if there is deep fog everywhere and the infected are swarming out of a house. Or you go in a building and several Z´s turning to your direction and want to hunt you. For shure they are no thread until to many of them will try to get you and they are more placeholders in their AI behavior but its pretty funny at all. I like the idea of increasing the spawning rate by noise. This would ad another way of playstyle. So it would be possible to attract z´s to a intended area. Maybe near a house where you know a sniper is hidden. Maybe Flares and other lightsources could atract them in a similar way. The whole spawning system should be as unpredicteble as possible. Like Private Evans said it would be great if sometimes there are no zeds, sometimes there are 30-40 in a small village. Sometimes you find a Helicrash with no zeds, sometimes there are to many of them to kill em with a pistol and 20 rounds. Sometimes they are in houses and come out by noise or light attraction. Should the noise of ingame chat attract them too? This would be great I think! "Hey you bastards come over here!" This unpredictability would knock out the metagaming thing and would guarantee the feeling that many many zeds are in the game. @Hicks_206 (DayZ) I think this mixture of prespawned Z´s at serverstart and noise-, light- and playerdependet spawnsystem would be extremly powerfull.

    :/ thanx for those honest words. But this sounds as we have to wait another few weeks for new exp. push. I know... patience but phheew nocturas is right. One patch in nine months... common guys. Edit: But I think it's the same for the devs right now. I love this game don't get me wrong. It has to be hard at this stage of development. Thank you guys for your hard work...

    Yes +1! This was asked several times before. I think it would be great for: take your mates out of the line of fire to give them medical support this will prevent the die and loot your own bodie thing most of the time If someone is unconsious you can take him as hostage

    ...and I thought, after implementing the core of enfusion, the development process will get faster but goddamn FOUR MONTHS no exp. build. That's really not what I expected! I don't know how they will be able to hit beta end of the year with this... I know they do their best and are working hard but it's just not what I expected. There is so many new content incoming and just so little time. Just another four months. After status report at the beginning of August, it looked like everything besides the wolves is ready and now more than one month later there is no exp. in sight. I don't loosing hope for this game, don't get me wrong. But it's hard to stay in touch with it. It's still my favorite and I just can't play it right now. That makes me...hhhnnnnnngggg! Edit: I think it's just the fact that we all love this game and are afraid it dies before it gets born.

    Thats why I like this time accelerated servers. There you´re able to play at night and day if you only can play a few hours in the evening. I don´t like the cranked gamma thing. Normally I try to grab a torch. It´s so freakin awsome. But if I get to high risk areas I crank the gamma up because I don´t want to die. I think it would be a great and authentic game experience if everybody needs to use lightsources like torches, flashlights and flares for nightplay. Especially with the new dynamic shadow thing, which will be implemented at .61. And for now, a torch or a fire is only visible in a range of maybe 200-300 meters. So its not to dangerous right now. I hope they will ad some LoD to fireplaces and torches so you can spot them from further away. But I don´t know if this will be possible.

    Add some "Useless" items to make Dayz more enjoyable

    I would prefer, that every Item can be used and different items and combinations of them get the same result. A sewing kit and many rags produce a makeshift sack. Many of your Items can be usefull... A meter can be usefull at basebuilding. I want a cart! It would be awsome to go shopping in cherno... some cans of beans, a battery, a fireaxe... and it makes a lot of noise! The belt could used to stop bleeding... or slow down bleeding, or you can ad little bags to it for ammunition maybe Banknotes ready to burn >> Fireplacekit Cutlery... mmmh not very effective but like in zomboid as melee weapons. I want to kill a Z with my beloved spoon! Cart wheels to repair your cart Fuses for the electricity system which will be implemented Towels to get dry again shampoo... you should be able to clean your hands with it like with the soap The glass thing I like alot! shivers of glass as knives.     For now it's just the tech plus gunsounds. But I think later the ambient sounds will get overhauled. I think wobo made a vid what the new tech is available to do.

    Daynmic fucking shadows HELL YEAH!!! Im so happy... this and in addition to the dynamic infected spawn plus new audio tech will give immersion of DayZ a big boost especially in nighttime and if envoirnement sound are merged and configured right with the audio tech this will be amazing shit! Hope it gets released without wolves... they can come at us later :)

    I hope they´ll find a good balance between realism and gamedesign. I don´t expect anything in this direction till beta. There is a medical system and its working for the most of the time. I think they will add and finetune to those mechanics if anything else (playercontroller, Helicopter, basebuilding, predators etc) is implemented.

    He's is analysing DayZ mechanics on YouTube and did a really good job. Right now I think there is the opportunity to get your mate back from unconscious state by injecting epinephrine. A real good addition would be if you can drag your mate's body out of the line of fire. Some ArmA 3 mods have this feature implemented. And there you can try to get him back to life. And on gamedesign thoughts I think it would be great if there would be a small chance to get your mate back to life with a defibrillator. I know it wouldn't be realistic but hey... it's a game and soooo many things aren't realistic because of that.
  19. We in our group tried this playstyle several times and it's muuuuch more immersive! Although I think it would be great if everyone talks in-game with high quality mics it never will happen on official servers. Maybe some strict whitlist rp servers can do it... The problems listed above are just not solvable. ( bad mics/no Mic, environment noise, etc...)

    Trucks is there a trick to them now?

    Vehicles are cute right now but not really worth the time to get them repaired. I like it if it's hard to maintain a car but for now they're to bugged. In same time you can visit every high tier area and walk back to your camp before one car is repaired. Let's talk about it again if stamina system is working ? Edit: maybe it would make sense to ad an unflip and push option till the game goes beta so it wouldn't be so painful if you get stucked by a railroad crossing the street - like in some arma 3 mods
  22. There are no news in the dev tracker section since 22. Jan this year. Will this be activated again? I think it was a good aggregator for news about dayz. Normally the forum is the first place to be for news about a game but in dayz there is twitter, trello and all that stuff...

    So often I thought about that! That needs to be done. Agree with all suggestions. It looks soooo crappy if a blood fountain comes out of the middle of nowhere 10 cm beside your shoulder. Maybe there will be something new with the new anim/character controller thing...

    i miss this mood in dayz sa right now :( good ol´dayz... It sounds like predators are a huge blocker right now and everything else seems to be more or less implemented and working. Dont let your blockers tie you up in development. Just push out the new dynamic zombie spawn system so there will be more data to push the development forward. Only 5 months to 2017 and beta... so much to do.
