Really nice idea for RP servers! I would love it! especially in your claimed base, where it will last alot longer then 10 or 15 DayZ.

Don't get me wrong here :) I'm absolutely not from the faction which fight for realism and shit on gamedesign and playability. But sometimes I miss a bit of consistent mechanics. On the one hand I need to take a compass in my hand to navigate on the other hand I can run like I'm fast and furious while changing attachments on my gun and craft a courier bag. There is a need of a balanced gameplay. Take a rest to sort my backpack would decelerate gameplay alot in my opinion. I would need to make decisions by packing my gear on the right spot to stay alive. I don't want a backpack Tetris simulation, but take a rest and think about it what I maybe need in a dangerous situation and put it on the right spot - why not? I think it would be fun... but again, I can only speak for me. Maybe it's more a part of a hardcore survival mod. Maybe.

or a few more attachments?

Yep, exactly. Right! Escape of Tarkov uses a system like that. I think thats where my idea came from. I think it would be amazing. I dont t hink it would be to tedious. I would only think twice if I put my ammunition in my backpack or in my vest. And stop moving to take stuff out of my backpack dont implement my view is fixed. It could be possible to look around while digging in my backpack. But maybe thats a stuff for a mod ^^ mmmhh here Im not with you. Especially in the pursuit of realism I want to know where my body is injured. The best, for shure, would be the option that you see your injuries directly at your main character window. But I think its just to much work to realize. A medical view would be much easier to develop and lacks the same realism like the charakter windoew itself - except you are standing beside a mirror :) But except the realism the immersion, and I can only speak for myself, would be much better, if I can put a cleaned and disinfected bandage on my scratched left arm then just use some badly damaged rags to stop my bleeding.

As always... very good work Asmondian. Thank you! A few things came to my mind while reading your topic. I would love to see the equipment bar always on top. So if you scroll down to whatever and you wanna drag an item from the bottom of your inventory, you don´t need to hold left mouse and wheel your mouse in the same time to get to the equipment tab again, like its actually is. Maybe the Equipment Tab could be modular, so if you got special clothes, you can attach different things. To be honest Im not a fan of grid based inventorys. I would prefer a weight and sized based system, where you can place your stuff everywhere in your pocket besides the limitations of weight and size. But if it looks like your design I would be happy either :) I would love to see looting a player takes time. You have to search bags, backpacks and pouches of a killed player to see whats inside their clothes/backpacks A seperation between pockets you can reach while walking and moving and interaction with your backpack, which forces you to stop walking. a health screen of your character, where medical details will be shown more accurate. scratch/bleeding sore/ broken arm etc. edit: BELTS But thank you once again for your beautifull artwork and design suggestions! Thats true but the usage off radios for example are really annoying right now. If I have assault vest where I can put on my radio - I would do it! I wouldnt pack it in my backpack and take it out everytime I need it. I would fix it on my vest or my belt.

Ok... +those beards! +injured animations and stamina! I WANT IT NOW! ;) ... but I dont like those half circled cursor for aiming. It looks so BIG. But thats my personal thought. And I hope those Icons in "melee 0.63" video (00:26) have nothing to do with the final inventory menu or are placeholders. But great SR! Thank you devs! -
It's more a question then a suggestion but will something like this, sometime, maybe, eventually very very eventually be a thing with the new character controller coming with beta/.63? ... we always can dream :)

Stickyyyy! And this "bloody hands idea" I think Peter mentioned something like this a long time ago . So maybe we will see that ingame. But maybe it would be nice, if you get blood on your hands by looting someone you had killed, or if you had killed someone with melee weapons. -

Thank you. It's just a quick draw to clear up what I mean. But I like the inventory system, where you can place your objects how you like to and only size and weight limit the objects you put in your backpack. It's like in life is feudal.

Jeah nice Idea. But maybe it would be great if we would be able to choose with hotkeys/quickmenu wich part of inventory or characterscreen we want to achieve. For example you press tab and a quick menu appears and if you choose your backpack you go prone and are not able to move, before you leave the menu by pressing tab. ... for shure you would be able to reach the different tabs with hotkeys for example. But it would be able to access vests trousers etc while moving and the backpack only by stop movement and going prone. By the way I love the Escape from Tarkov system where you have to search in the different containers (vests, backpacks, etc) to see whats in it if you loot someone. (Just a few seconds) Edit: and these are not my Icons, thanks to glorious Wiki and free png icons

This will be balanced with the new player controller. There it'll be that you hold down the button to control the time you're drinking. No more start animation, cancel etc. This will change gameplay in a real heavy way. Btw right now you can spam nearly everything. Apples, stones, woodsticks etc.

I like it alot... cant stop making screenshots. The rain looks awesome sometimes especially in the distance. Btw campfires can now be spotted from a much bigger distance! This fog... holy! And the sunset/dawn... amazing Nighttimedrivin

The problem with not fixing or find a acceptable solution for gamma tweaking is, that all the stuff like torches, flashlights, weaponflashlights are completely useless - besides the immersion of nightplay. I just don't touch gamma settings, if I'm on a empty server . Because if the server is full it's just a disadvantage and to dangerous not cranking up gamma. For sure I will die if I meet someone who cranked up gamma. He sees me first - I'm dead. For sure I'm able to set the gamma up in my Ati software or monitor but it's the same with people who joined the server. I can check steam how many players are online on a server I want to join if I want to. The new server browser just tells if the server is full - high - low populated. Do I every time check steam server browser before joining? No, I don't.

Just give it a try :D The last few times I played I avoided appletrees and tried to get enough food from other sources. It´s really challanging, especially in trhe beginning. Maybe I try to avoid wells too. Is boiled water save to drink?

I thought about it twice, and its better than the door sign which pops up if your in range of a door or the "take" message if you hover over an item on the ground. But it needs to be far more descreet. And no glow/highlight/outline stuff, please no. A small dot maybe which appears if you hold down a key/ or toggle on/off. And after stay for a few seconds on one item the info blends in softly. Edit: it could be used to interact with different items like fireplaces, cooking pots, ovens in houses, fridges, etc. -

But the most annoying PR is to say nothing! And wait... this was the most common and most criticized behaviour of PR in DayZ development. Now they are talking clearly what's up and everybody gets mad... awesome community! -
Status of 0.62 on Experimental Branch
Arthur Dubrovka replied to Baty Alquawen's topic in PC Experimental Updates
Thank you for the information Baty! I appreciate that a lot! Now we know what's going on and it's not like browsing steam db for eventually experimental changes. Thank you very very much! That's how dev-community communication should be. But I have to say that I had a bug like this several times before. Visual closed door client sided - but door was open server sided... but this door bug seems to be much more nasty. So I can understand but my heart want to play .62 :D Edit: ...and because of this shitstorm. Please don't take a step back and don't tell us what's going on! -

.62 is mostly visual and sound update. No new vehicles, guns or mechanics. It's the red carpet for the stuff coming with .63 aka beta. But I don't know if helicopter will be in .63. They need to fix ground vehicles first (lag, server performance, etc) before adding helicopter will be a thing. -
