Pending Changelog: Experimental branch: 0.34.XXXXX
antykain replied to rocket's topic in News & Announcements
Fire up the experimental build. It's working nicely now! :) -
Well, I am sure many of you are having the issue with MAJOR performance drop since the new patch. I myself have had this issue and after doing some research on reddit about have tried a few things. I've fixed it on my end. First off, when ingame, check your inventory. Do you have any items with flickering textures? If so, drop them asap. Any, and all, flickering items. As soon as I did this, everything seemed to balance out again. Secondly, the M4. If you have any painted M4 parts, remove them. I had to do this on my M4 and replaced with unpainted parts. Again, none of the performance issues/fps drop came back. Not saying this will fix everyone's issue with this, but it did fix mine. Give it a go. And please, if anyone has posted this, sorry.. Didn't see a fix as a main topic for this workaround. Post your results and any other options you have come up with. Good luck!

New Patch Memory Leak: Possible fix/workaround
antykain replied to antykain's topic in General Discussion
Installed the experimental build, and so far it's working out nicely. Good thing is, with this experimental build, you can play on the regular servers. Doesn't have to be teh experimental/testing servers. I have been on our MIAClan server after installed the exp build patch and all is good so far. :) -
New Patch Memory Leak: Possible fix/workaround

I just went ahead and kept my protector case empty for the time being in the stable build. I am downloading the experimental build now and going to test it and see if I can reproduce this "bug". -

Few of our clanmates were experiencing this yesterday. I have yet to have it happen to me tho. -
To all of those who yell ALPHA at any sort of suggestion
antykain replied to hannibaldaplaya's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, this does seem to happen a lot. Many people who post new topics are just trying to get an insight on whatever issue they are posting about.. instead they get the "alpha" excuse for a response, instead of some sort of constructive feedback. Mainly because they have nothing better to offer than "Alpha".. lol Anywho.. it's going to happen. :) -

THIS.. IS... ALPHAAAA! lmao.. sorry, felt like the right thing to say.. :P -
Saw this on Twitter earlier today.. Looking good!

These new rain drops are better known as, the Optimized Wetness. They seem to run rampant through early alpha builds like DayZ. Find that rain ingame and you will be rewarded with the better fps. Don't find it.. well. You get the picture. Optimizing rain drops for better ingame performance FTMFW! :D

Hmm, really.. Did you happen to read the disclaimers before you paid that $30 by chance? Just leaving that there to simmer a bit.. 'nuff said.

antykain replied to antykain's topic in General Discussion
:) ty! Anywho, the experimental build seems to be going well. Hopefully this will get pushed stable SOON. :) I've not had the fps lag issues as of yet in the new build. Good sign! Anyone else tried the experimental build? If so, any issues on your end? -

New Patch Memory Leak: Possible fix/workaround
antykain replied to antykain's topic in General Discussion
lol.. Running around naked will fix the issue, for sure! I am carrying very minimal gear until the hotfix patch arrives, hopefully tomorrow. I went around picking up some loot last night while I was playing, and got bugged again. So, had to drop all the effected items again. lol.. goodtimes! -
New Patch Memory Leak: Possible fix/workaround

So far so good.. Just got off work and logged back in. Issue has not come back since I got rid of the effected items. Looking forward to the patch to really take care of this issue. -
New Patch Memory Leak: Possible fix/workaround
antykain replied to antykain's topic in General Discussion
What items are in your inv? Did you try to drop everything, then get a good distance away, and try to see if it helps? Some items may not give the noticeable flicker that you have on you. My Magpul items were not flickering, but the other effected items were (canned food in my case). I dropped my whole backpack along with my M4. Ran away, and it started to clear up. I then went back, picked everything back up and started narrowing it down to the individual items until it was back to normal. -

antykain replied to antykain's topic in General Discussion
Could be the mag then.. It seems the items that can be painted for the M4 may be one of the culprits, along with the other random items. The items that were effected on my end, were items I did have in my inventory BEFORE the last patch yesterday. All items I picked up post-patch were not effected it seems. -
Changelog: Stable Branch: 0.34.115106
antykain replied to mattlightfoot's topic in News & Announcements
I disagree.. before I dropped the items that had the flickering textures, I was messing with ALL the gfx setting I could think of. Including the flush. None of these were helping and eventually ended in my game coming to a complete halt. Once I narrowed it to the items that were flickering in my inventory and booked it away from said items, everything was back to normal. I even went back and picked up the effected items again to test it, and the game started slowing to a halt again. I do firmly believe it has to do with the items itself, and not the video settings. -

Don't need to drop the M4 all together. Just possibly the parts. I resprayed the parts I had and all is good so far. (knock on wood..) -

All of the food that I did drop was either damaged, or badly damaged. Can't confirm this was the issue. My MP buttstock was prestine tho. -

I repainted my parts in our MIA server.. everything stayed good. Quit, rejoined my server. Still all good. I then joined 2 other servers testing it, and no issues have come up yet. Seems to be fixed on my end, :) -

You got it bud. Hope it works out for you. For me, like I said, it was just 2 cans of beans I needed to drop. Everything was smooth sailing afterwards. Posted possible fix topic here: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/172310-new-patch-memory-leak-possible-fixworkaround/ -

Yes, my bad.. You are right. added to OP. The M4 parts also may be at fault. Hopefully this will just be a temp fix until we get the hotfix patch. :) -
Changelog: Stable Branch: 0.34.115106
antykain replied to mattlightfoot's topic in News & Announcements
I fixed my issue with the HUGE performance drop and eventual freeze... There were some items with flickering textures in my inventory. I removed these items (all food in my case), and fixed. Not saying this will fix everyone's issue with this new bug, but give it a shot. Just remove the flickering items and get away from them. -
