    I feel bad, even if I shouldn't

You did the basic of the basic; You tried to stay alive! :) Well executed good sir!

Why DayZ is no survival game

As i have put as a point in one of my posts, having several spawn locations inland would solve some of the problems. Still, even if the game does everything in catering to the surviving theme, there will still be the player himself who is the main motivator to how well this theme is executed and interpreted. This is a line that goes into a lot of different game genres, with some exceptions, like the VERY poorly streamlined games, where you can't make much personal decisions within the game.

My dream " House " location in Dayz

Looks like a great location! I'm going to make my house out of harvested tomatoes:)

A single screenshot to describe the current 0.50 build.

Well, if you drink to much water, off course your stomach will feel stuffed! :D

    LongHorn pistol

If find this to be one of the most sexy weapons in the game. Very accurate and fun to use!

how has the dry wells affected your gameplay

It's actually quite rare i use a well. I usually find enough drinks, food or use canteens/water bottles in ponds.

    Life of an Item

I would say the splint is one of the longest lasting items i have ever had:)
  8. My lucky day! :) Got the M4A1 to, with pristine attachment + insane amounts of ammo. I'm probably going to end up dying trying to give food/water to a fresh spawn, but, at least i can celebrate a little with you guys before that happens, he he:)

Found a Helicopter crash and fully stocked military base

He he, i can live with that:) Well, i like to help people who just spawned or that are in need for a particularly item, like a bandage or a splint. I understand the risk of doing this, but at the same time it makes the game more interesting for me. I also get to meet a lot of people, even if it's just for some minutes or less;)

Tired of spawning at the coast

Hello community, I always get spawns at the coast or a couple of stone throws from it. I was pretty sure i read somewhere that there would be a focus on getting spawn locations all over the map. I guess i was wrong about this? -SA

Tired of spawning at the coast

Good point! I was just thinking about making an application to Beck's Privateers. I like their code of conduct and from what most people say, they seems like a pretty decent group. I do agree, it is quite hard roleplaying as a friendly character, especially while lone wolfing:)

    Helicopter crash sites?

I found my first helicopter crash this weekend, west of pavlovo. It might have been looted before, because all i found was two 20 mags with the 5.56×45mm.

Tired of spawning at the coast

It sure feels like it. If i die in Cherno or Elektro, i spawn towards east and if i die in Berezino or Svetlorjark, i spawn towards south. In last weekend though, all i did was spawning between Solnichniy and Elektro. Well, it's quite hard to not die when you are roleplaying a friendly character who tries to communicate before shooting;) I try to help people out, but most of the times, i get a bullet between my eyes. I'm not complaining though, i love gearing up again and finding that one person who actually gives me a thumbs up;)

Tired of spawning at the coast

I do love a good background story and would very much like every spawn location to tell it's own story on why you would be spawning there. The problem is that people are getting to used to the coastal landmarks and at least for me, it is slowing eating away some of the fun when it comes to surviving and exploration. More spawn locations inland would also mean a shorter distance to some of the inland landmarks and the ones that will come in the future. A more diversity would mean that players would get a wider knowledge of the map and scatter more around, making it a higher chance of actually meeting people inland.

Tired of spawning at the coast

Players that are bandits, crafters, killers, explorers, bounty hunters, lone wolfs, etc, are exactly the kind of people i would love to meet in every corner on the map. This would be survival at it's fittest. Small bases, clutters of people joining forces to fend of invaders, people fighitng for a small piece of land, hunters gathering to take down wild animals and so on. I think people spawning all over would make the game more about surviving, exploring and being able to adapt to quite different scenarios everytime you spawn.

Tired of spawning at the coast

Spawning at the coast drags most people to the major towns/military camps aroud the coast for loot or towards the major inland military camps and then back again to the coast to kill people. Making more spawn locations inland would make this game more about surviving and protecting/building bases/homes and less about killing people for fun. Not to mention implementing major buildings inland like: A research facility, junkyard for harvesting components, underground bases (this is coming), rare plants or animal breeds that is needed for making armor, holsters, posion, salves, etc. We have a big map, let's make more use of it! Also, being able to spawn in new locations would definitely add to the suspense and exploration. Think about spawning in a small shack in the middle of nowhere, not knowing where you are. Then, when dangerous animals are implemented, you might actually have to fight to stay alive. Maybe spawning inside a bunker or an abondened hospital. What about waking up in those old busses we see sometimes? :)

Tired of spawning at the coast

They should make the locations have a higher spawn rate then i guess, because it is very rare i spawn at those locations. With more diversity in spawn locations, there would be no need for suicide spawns.

Tired of spawning at the coast

I'm all for having coastal spawn, but i would not mind getting some further inland. When you start to peak servers with 50 +++ people, [i'm guessing we will se even higher number of populated servers as the times goes] the coast starts to feel a little cramp. I can understand that getting higher number of populated servers would push people more inland, but at the same time, it would kill some of the adventuring for me at start. I see no problem in being scattered all over the map and having a higher chance of meeting people in less ovbious locations like you have at the coast.

Tired of spawning at the coast

I can understand your point if the spawn location were totally random. But, they are not. You know excactly where you spawn at the coast and you know how far you are to a town/village. If they just add a couple of spawn location in the middle of the map, as an exmample, and take into consideration where military/city/village location are, then it would be fair. It is tradition, but after spawning at the coast within a game time of 230 hours or so, you do get a little bored of knowing excactly where you are, where most enemies are and where the loot will be most likely. The diversity starts to taste a little stale. I also thought one of the major problems in the game were that most people had fights at the coast and not inland. I tend to run awy from the coast, to seek fortune of proviants and other adventurous tasks, but, the lack of people makes you feel kind of alone.

    I hate bambi

Well, i just give them some stuff and they mostly get out of the way. Have some distance between you and the new spawn and you should be just fine from any kind of deadly punches/chops.

What exactly qualifies as server hopping?

When you intentionally jump servers with the sole purpose of getting more and more gear.

    Raindrop pattern to keep dry?

Hello community, Been a while since i have played now, but i jumped back in and noticed at the same time that you get wet when it rain. I like the implementation, even if the [sOAKED] time frame needs some major adjustments. I have a question though: It seems that some trees makes you dry when standing under them and so does not, regardless of the tree crown. So this makes me wonder: Have you survivors noticed any difference in where you stay in the raindrop pattern? Is there some magical spot, when not in cover, that will keep you dry?

    Your funniest moment in Dayz

Mine was some time ago when i was showing my nephew what Dayz is all about: I was tracking along the outskirts of Cherno while talking about how bandits are camping the main cities. Just as i told him about how it is safer to scope the large cities out before moving in, i get a black screen. Dead! I felt pride leaving my body;)
