I've been Bottlerocket since I started playing PC games with Battlefield 1942- Desert Combat mod. I was playing as the generically-named 'Player1', and thinking I should get myself a proper monicker. Scanning the room, my eyes happened on an empty wine bottle, sitting on the shelf Glancing back at the screen, I saw myself immediately blown to smithereens by a rocket. There are some that say 'twas an omen! But back on topic - I'd support three names per account to let you play Good Guy, Bad Guy and Random Idiot. -

No - there's something about first person I don't like. Perhaps it gives too restrictive a view? You need to keep your eyes open out there, and using peripheral vision dots doeasn't cut it. There's enough FPS games out there ..... -

Thanks for the info, but I tried gb 500 last night and I don't think it's for me - sidechat was ull of people screaming "HAX" while some tube also thought it was funny to play 'creepy' sounds over global chat. Like that's never been done before....... I'll download tavania tonight. -

Meh - the very fact that he had a zombie chain should have told you this guy didn't give a shit. Probaly re-spawned after dying and thought 'fuck it' and went for a wild ride. I'll do that sometimes just to see how long I can last and if I get any good loot. When I'm in that 'mode' I'm axing anyone fool enough to get within swinging range. -

I agree with the changes to stop you spamming food - always seemed unrealistic to me that you could get shot and then miraculously eat a few steaks and be back to full health. DayZ is supposed to be dark and brutal - we should all be stumbling around fucked up most of the time. Magic cure-all steaks don't fit with that. And this coming from a lone wolf player. This change might even make people more co-operative, if they need to find people to give them a transfusion. Certainly lead to more tense moments - and that's why we're here, right? -

Don't be a sasafrassin idiot. 'Course they gonna want that DayZ standalone money - but they ain't countin on it in any meanin'ful sense. They saw the success a the mod and decided to make a game out of it. That sounds like good business sense to me. But remember - DayZ was never a part of their release schedule - that's all tied up in Arma III. Rocket's big thang just came along, shamblin into success like a zombie that's stumbled into the junior girls choir's annual slumber party. BI'll get their loot - and we'll get our game. It's just taking a little longer than we thought it would, is all.

What utter hogwash. Pure bilge-water of the first order. The standalone isn't some project that BI are pinning their hopes on financially - it's probably being funded by the money they made off sales of Arma II so people could play the mod. As I say - it's a happy accident we're getting it at all. There ain't no 'investors' waiting in the wings with clipboards demanding to see a return on their money, and their ain't gonna be no 'consequences' if the standalone doesn't arrive next week, next month or next year. It'll be done when it's done and all y'all should learn to be cool with that. We get a great game, BI get a cash injection, some zombies get headshot and some noobs'll be a-gettin sniped. It's a win-win-win-win. 'less your a noob, I s'pose.

Oh, get over yourself. You've got the DayZ mod to play, in its many incarnations, while you wait. The standalone was a happy accident that came about because the Mod was so popular. It was never the dev team's intention to have a full game out of this - now we've got one coming, just be happy and learn to have a little patience. As you've gotten older you should have realised that the "but you said it" argument doesn't go anywhere. I'd rather see the standalone take a year to come out and be worth it than have it rushed to market with bugs, glitches and unfinished features.

Have to say, as someone who frequents that particular location, that must be the dumbest place to place a camp and not expect it to get found. Apart from the airfield, there's not another building for miles .... and the chance of food and drink spawning in that barn or on its zombie guards means that anyone who's ran all the way to the airfield will always, always check it out. It's also next to the sniper spot for that particiular airfield. So, OP, you would never, never, ever have kept that camp for long anyways. -

Beat it, buddy. The guy was perfectly right to call you out and curse you and your descendents. You're endorsing cheating by applauding someone giving you gear in a game where the whole challenge comes from the difficulty it takes to acquire that gear. Think about it. You're saying: "Don't work for something - it's better to just wait for someone to give you a handout" Is that how you want your kids to grow up? -

Just had a run to Berezino completely halted by this glitch .... tried various fixes but nothing worked - not surprising as the 'fix' the devs also tried didn't work (playing post 1.7.2.5). Just get them out of there - they don't even make sense from a game-world point of view ... all the corpses would have rotted away by now - and don't zombies eat their victims? -

Pretty shitty move ... Have to say whenever I've encountered a random friendly, it's always ended well. Even the time I shot at a guy by mistake than shouted friendly afterwards. Make of that what you will. Would you have trusted me? -
The saddest thing about this vid is it shows how utterly underpowered zombies are at the moment .... Bring back bone-breaking zombies!

Well, that quite a list. In short - More interactivity would be good - such as fishing, clothes, herbal remedies - but seems pretty hard to implement. Things that are supposed to be coming - Guns that jam (not degrade), changes to appearance, possibly wild animals, underground bases (confirmed). As for 'zombeasts and zombirds' - ah, no. Just doesn't fit with DayZ, for some reason. IMHO. And taking cover in a tent seems a bit odd, given the chances of canvas deflecting a bullet is pretty much zilch. But on the whole, good work. Nice to see soemone thinking about the game. Keep it up!
