sounds like a cool idea, as i was just making sure the russian army do use berets (which they do) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_beret#Russian_Federation i do like berets i think they are quite cool and would fit in well, maybe more types of russian army gear and more types of standard clothing, maybe chinos and polo shirts, winter coats not just raincoats and so on, stuff like that should all be added in with time. Also please remove UK assault vests, they have no place in russia, rename them or something but i wanna know why they got there

after reading the topic i do kinda agree with the poster, i played the DayZ mod as i bought it in the winter sale (after owning standalone and player 20+ hours) and immediately on the mod (epoch) on a private hive, after using side chat for asking help with what is this for, where is a good place to get loot, do i need a toolbox for this etc... i have met someone in game who has driven over to meet me, and helped me out a bunch with gear and food, then i managed to join a group of 4 who have bases an army of vehicles etc. everyone is freindly even the person that killed me cuz he thought i was trying to run him down at NWAF. And yet in the standalone the only freindlies i have met are those without weapons because they know its futile trying to kill someone with anything other than Axe of firearm. i dont like this it makes me sad, hopefully when there are objectives like basebuilding and so on then people will be to busy with that to kill others

ive seen a press vest before, found it in the fire station in a town, think it was cherno (not 100% sure) also whats the ballistic vest? i havent seen one of those only seen press, assault and tactical vest

yeah i made a post about insanity Kos n so on and i agree that if this is a 'simulator' it should be realistic and so feeling mental strain of killing would be good, however if there was an extreme loss of motor control or your character broke down in a field it would be a bit much, i think it would completely wipe out banditry which is a key aspect of the game. i think this feature will come into its own when players have bases and whatnot because people are killing people because killing is fun and after you have An M4 there is nothing else to do other than terrorise players. when it will take many hours of gameplay to build a fort, so you should constantly be busy working on your base and not out slaying bambis

i agree those guys were dicks, considering there was one of you and you said you were freindly, im not sure what i wouldve done in ur situation tbh, i might have yelled abuse at them from the unconcious state and hope they can read it. maybe i woulda shot back i dunno i guess combat logging meant you kept ur gear but ya know... -
heres what weapons i want, i wanna be able to take the 'sticks' which are normally used for broken legs and duct tape a gas canister on the end of it and use it as a sledgehammer, or i could douse it in fuel and throw it and it EXPLODES that would be sweet, yeah thats the only other weapon i want in dayz

so i guess this is posted ALOT in these forums but my friends have kinda all stopped playing DayZ, they have all gone back to dota, garrys mod etc. and i am looking for people to play with: i dont nessecarily want a strict clan dont have to be pro, or any good at all preferably microphone friendly preferably not bandits also if you have a group that you run with and are happy for me to come play with you sometime just post in this thread :) - thanks

this server sounds pretty cool and i might have to consider stopping by. however i personally dislike first person, i really only find it useful for shooting, otherwise i will always play in 3rd, call me a noob and whatnot but thats just what i do -
you deserve all the beans, congrats on winning the internet for the day, im now gonna go suicide at what this world has come to XD but yeah pooping and having to take a wiz sounds like an awesome idea, specially if you could make a 'blood bag' of urine then give it to someone - i would love that

this is a brilliant idea and service, have had to use it a couple of times, and they were really helpful, i would recomend using the teamspeak (as i did) as they are able to see what the problem is immediately. -

i didnt read every comment on this thread but i think if they took some of the tents from Balota and some from NWAF, they could balance out the amount of loot and then move a few tents from balota and NWAF to the central eastern half of the map. if there was less to be found at NWAF and less at balota, it would force people to head to other locations to look for loot -
At the moment you couldn't get 1000 players on a server, its all just a massive cluster-fuck because there is very little incentive to leave the coast, having 1000 people spread between cherno and electro would be horrible, i want a reason why i should make the long run to Stary, i want a reason why i should visit krasnatov, because there isn't one atm. However as soon as players are spread across all the cities, THEN you can think about 200, 300 MAYBE even 1000 player servers. which to be honest sounds awesome. oh and yeah a bigger map would encourage more explanation. i never played many MMO's, this game you talk of Ultima Online came out the year i was born but this idea sound very good and, if the devs are considering what people write in the suggestion area of the forum dayz's future is looking very bright indeed

i like the idea of broken arms and being able to carry players, however i think it should only be added in after vehicles, so you can carry your buddy 30m to the car, park the car outside a city, go loot the hospital and bring him the gear rather than carry him 800m to the nearest place to get morphine

So over my past 55in game hours I have been shot at a lot. Far too much than would be realistic(IMO), how many people do you think you could bring yourself to kill and have no guilt about it? Well in DayZ it is far to easy just to shoot the next sucker youse in the face, rather than avoid/hold them up. That is why I believe something should be done the offer an incentive for not killing people or punishments for those that do kill. As in the mod I suggested a humanity meeter, this maybe wouldn't change the skin of your player as it is a bit OP but maybe something discreet I.e. blood on hands if you are a killer. Or a sanity meeter. Maybe everyone spawns in with a different sanity amount and on different players it would decrease by more/less. You lose sanity in general life, long walks without sight of people(film castaway is an example of this)or killing lots of people could send you insane. To regain sanity you could read a book or interact with players in a friendly way, or anyway that involves proper communication. combat logging is a huge problem and I guess they are doing something to improve it, here is my suggestion for combat loggers- same as the mod basically, can't abort in combat, a countdown timer etc... Something to reduce people from shooting at you, and logging when they miss every shot and you have hit them with a few rounds. Any small system intergration can fix this And as for server hoppers I am not sure what can be done about this, I server switch often, not for better gear, but to leave/find a night server, join my friends, if the server has just rebooted, to go to eat food whatever the reason. However people who constantly switch to find the best loot are ridiculous. To fix this maybe you have to wait 2 minutes after leaving to join another, this would discourage a lot of server hopping, as they have to wait a while , or you get a 30min ban if you join more than 5 servers in 30mins 1hour whatever. These are all just MY ideas as this is the suggestions section -

I do know that Alt + F4 can still be used although it would discourage some people from pressing it? maybe if you didnt log out the usual way than next time you joined you would have to wait for 5 minutes idle, in which you are basically AFK and can be attacked by players + zombies. this feature appears in Arma 3 Breaking Point Mod -

well what do you mean by disadvantage, it wont lag you or kick you from servers, but if you occasionsally saw flashes of colours or heard noises i think that would be enough to put you off, it would also mean that bandit groups would be less prone to this as they could easily communicate in comms to re-gain sanity. this would again encourage teamwork, agreed (even if i have a gun) - -

well yeah thats true, well kinda if youre a serial killer you kinda have lost your sanity, but i digress different characters have different sainity levels and whatnot, some can kill 10 people without going crazy, others will feel it after killing 1 player. if you character goes 'insane you could start hearing fake rifle shots, zombie noises, see flashes of red, white and black or whatever -

Me and my friend were talking about something similar, as in staying sane in a zombie survival game. If you didnt stay sane you could start shaking or hearing zombie or gunshot sounds. To increase sanity you could read or interact with other player. you would slowly lose sanity just as a general rule( like the film castaway)and if you kill people you lose it quicker could be one example( i know it would affect some people more than others irl). but you know what, i dislike KoS'ers(although they are a big aspect of the game) but thats just me, i play with a stay hidden, avoid players or at least be friendly attitude so i dont like it if i am helping people and i get gunned down, so ya know Because in reality you probably could bring yourself to kill someone, but you would be faced with mental consequences, examples of this in real life are soldiers who have recieved post traumatic stress disorder, from the harsh conditions, sounds of gunfire, killing people/watching people be killed. -
In reality firing a weapon left handed, isnt very common. I am left handed and whenever i have fired a weapon in real life i have always been told to place into my right shoulder (well i have only fired the L98A2 which is bullpup as someone stated earlier) but, i dont really know if firing a weapon left handed is such a big thing, i am so used to using the L98A2 in my right shoulder it feels weird in my left shoulder now

Idea to add realism and halp against KOS; ammo reloading

So i have a similar suggestion to this, which is also an attempt to reduce amount of people shot on sight. Rather than reduce ammo spawns (they could do this aswell). reduce M4 spawns, i dont like it that anyone who hops on a low pop/ just restarted server can spawn at balota, walk in and out with a fully geared up M4 and 3 full mags, i want it so they walk into balota, find 3 pistols of differing ammos and have to think about which one to carry, MAYBE this is yet to come as only 4 weapons are in game at the moment (M4, Mosin, .357, FNX). If they were to only find 3 pistols and only 10 shots or so for each it would mean the difference between spraying down a group of people from 200m away and still having a lot of ammo leftover and being more tactical to conserve ammo. This idea of an ammo crafting system would be good, just i think it would be difficult to implement, i think it will often be ignored by players who realise it is taking up too much space for the amount of ammo you get out of it, the would probably just prefer to carry more food in those slots If you need am example of this just hop on a server at 11am with 5 people on it or so, walk into balota, you may find up to 4 M4's, i know i have
